  1. That was then, not this current brave new world of civilian ccw where the state's contempt for such is blatantly hostile. They are drooling at the prospect of manufacturing a ccw scapegoat and given the chance to pile on charges adding to the perception that ccw holders are wild eyed killers they will do so. At least I think so.
  2. In regards to the perceived danger of using a altered trigger in a self defense shoot, I wouldn't dismiss it these days despite lack of history. Outside of LEO I think it's a short list in NJ of legal and justifiable SD shoots, much less outside the home considering the former scarcity of ccw's. And how many of those involved a trigger uprade? I guess very very few. I don't know the stats of course, I'll leave that to the endeavors of your AG. But I'm sure if SD case comes along and a altered trigger is in the mix NJ will absolutely use that fact to help prosecute.
  3. They also took a tattered NRA pro marksman cert from way back when I was a teenager in the 70's
  4. EB is the man. Prolly my favorite dj. The girl dj's all yak too much lol.
  5. It. Is. Awesome. Chump change for commercial free tunes altho the hosts can get a bit chatty. Huge selection of music, sports ,news etc. I think I pay around $8 a month. When it's time to renew they try to bump the rate a lot but just say cancel it and they'll keep it the same, at least for me for a bunch of ongoing yrs. I've got a favorite show, a bit off the normal path. It's broadcasts oldtime radio shows, coppers, bank robbers and smokey room type stuff. Lots of fun.
  6. This point is unfortunately more relevant on the "good" side of the law when the prosecutors ( think AG's, FBI...) don't do anything.
  7. Nice, thanx for that update, seems that ruling is less than a yr old.. I will forward that link to my BIL, as of Easter he was unaware and (we) will be happy to stand corrected.
  8. Not according to my BIL, a retired CO &: New Jersey also makes it a crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3(f) to possess “hollow nose” ammunition unless the person is an active law enforcement officer. This law is not subject to any exemption even if the person carrying has a permit.
  9. Not cheap, practical and smart. Because that's what I do too. Always have a pile of random pcs of cardboard around anyway, always usefull and free. The corrugated is especially handy because screws and pins can be poked in and won't roll around.
  10. It'll go nice with my white leather cowboy suit. The one with all the studs and shiny buttons, not the one with fringes.
  11. No need to issue, make it a voluntary program. Pencil pushing Leo's don't count, just those active in the field . How many will sign up?
  12. What a crock. The AG can simply issue a memorandum to the county admins who in turn reach out to the towns/barracks for the numbers. If Mom's Demand Action asked for that info to publish how many potential killers the Supreme Court put on the street somehow those numbers would appear.
  13. How the people of NJ live with all this continuous tyranical oppression is remarkable. Run, don't walk.
  14. Down here in my part of FL there is usually a respectful showing of the lady's at the ranges and the few competitions I've watched. Maybe it's cultural or ease of ccw but at least it's a sport the transmutations don't have the upper hand. Sam Colt said something to that effect.
  15. I remember facing that ridiculous hp situation when moving to FL. Decided no way was I remotely going to chance life altering setback by that fucked up state over some bullets. Went to Cherry Ridge for the last time (still miss that place!) And shot all my hp's in a massive "function check". Said fuck NJ with each shot lol.
  16. But didn't the legislature rely on those (non existent) stats to prop up their bill?? Lol !
  17. Had a few but sold off last one 2 yrs ago. Anyway came across a stash of forgotten parts from my move 3 yrs ago, typical bling like oiler/tool kit, sling, cartridge bore sighter even a early version of a a 10 rd mag (not Archangel). Also a full assembly bolt. Did a quick research on the bolt and seems like a tough pc to find these days, the few I saw available were very pricey. So a question- have the bolts actually become a "rare" item? I remember 10 yrs ago or so the Mosins were hot stuff around here guys even talking about going in on cases lol.
  18. Hell, show me the empirical evidence that holders of the FPID card are a cause of gun violence much less ccw's!
  19. Well it was a unanimous decision so something smarter than us is amiss. Probably something to do with commercial/retail vs civilian?
  20. They can- and do- say whatever they want. It's all sheep fodder.
  21. Oh, you thought CCW was for concealed carry weapon? No it stands for Concealed Car Weapon. Keep it locked up and secured in the car and gtg. Cmon man! It's NJ!
  22. What a fkn nanny state. Cant invent rules,, laws, regulations fast enough in all aspects of life. Run don't walk..
