  1. I just went to the hospital today to get my medical records for the last 10 years. I'll get my records from my Doc's office tomorrow. I'm pretty sure those will be the only ones that will show up. As of now, the hospital says they only have me for anxiety once. I think I may have seen my doc about it once also.
  2. Bro, please, do your self a favor and STAY AWAY FROM GUNS UNTIL YOU GET YOUR PERMIT IN HAND! I think its a felony to have a firearm without a permit in NJ!
  3. Thats the thing, I was never treated. Was never in a hospital (other than when my kids were born) for more than a few hours. I never was prescribed any meds, never was ordered to see a psychologist or psychiatrist, or anything of that nature. In the end, I KNOW I will pass, but I just have to get passed the BS invasive question 26. State law says you have had to have been adjudicated mentally ill, or committed to a mental institution, neither of which I have ever been. I really wish we could get a law to get rid of that question off the STS 33 app. Something similar to what PA asks is better. In PA, they ask if you were ever adjudicated mentally ill or confined to a mental institution, thats it. What right do they have to ask you these questions if you've never been committed or adjudicated??? Bogus I tell you, bogus. A cool person suggested I sign no, to it but I really really really don't want to be denied if they count a hospital visit as being observed by a doctor for a mental condition. Sucks.
  4. I'll be there! I'll try to get my other 2 Pro 2A friends to attend also. What time will the meeting be?
  5. Actually, I do need to consult an attorney for some of my issues. Hospital visit for anxiety and a dismissed NON-VIOLENT restraining order (she lied through her teeth to get the order and I was in court in another place at the time for a traffic ticket when the FRO hearing took place; I was very confused by all the paper work). Only thing is, now I gotta come up with at least $750 bucks for an attorney and probably another $1,000 for a psyche eval that I KNOW they are gonna order me to take. Its messed up because I had money for the Smith & Wesson M&P .40 almost all saved up. Now I have to use it for this. Good thing is my doctor is pro 2A and said he will help me with whatever paperwork is necessary to show that I am not a threat to myself or anyone else.
  6. I'm currently looking for a Handgun Permit lawyer in NJ to assist me with my Firearms ID app. Currently, I have a phone conference scheduled for Jack Venturi's office at 3pm today. I also called Evan Nappen's office and all the lawyers there were in court and unable to assist me. These are the only two lawyers I could find and mind you, my "Google-Fu" is black belt worthy lol. If anyone could assist me in finding some more reputable lawyers in NJ, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
  7. Basically, when you sign SP 66, are you giving them permission to look at any record of your's protected under HIPAA, ie doctors visits, emergency room visits, and stuff like that? Or do they ONLY have access to mental health institution commitments and mental health adjudications? Do they have access to any and every prescription you have ever used? Do they have access to any and every hospital visit you ever made? Whats the deal? Just asking for FYI.
  8. NO! You are correct! I just picked up my application from my local PD and they are using the November 2003 version of STS 33! Furthermore, they also ask you to sign a work records release form (which I will NOT sign, one because I'm unemployed, and two because its not required by statute that I sign it)! The STS 33 form on NJSP website is September 2009 version.
  9. Is it question #25 that you are referring to? #26: Do you suffer from a physical defect or sickness? #25: Have you ever been attended, treated or observed by any doctor, psychiatrist or at any hospital or mental institution, on an in-patient or out-patient basis for any mental or psychiatric conditions? If yes, give the name & location of the doctor, psychiatrist, hospital or institution and the date(s) of the occurrence.
  10. What exactly are they looking for when they do the mental health search? Is it defined in a statute somehwere what they can deny you for? Can anyone chime in on this?
  11. What's with the "mental background" form? I've never heard of that till now. Though I see on the app for a FOID/Permit app, it asks whether I have been treated for a mental problem (no), I never saw any form for that.
  12. This was my case back in 2007. Vindictive spouse got a restraining order on me saying she felt threatened. I have no criminal record, absolutely NO history of violence, and absolutely have NEVER verbally, mentally, nor physically abused her. Thenm to make matters worse, the TRO got turned into a FRO because I didn't make it to court that day BECAUSE I WAS AT COURT IN ANOTHER TOWNSHIP FOR A TRAFFIC TICKET. To make a long story short, we reconciled and the whole matter was dismissed. So hopefully, this won't be a problem when I try to get my permit in Egg Harbor Township. Its important to note that nowhere in the restraining order did it say I used physical force against her. (The whole thing was a lie from the start though. I'm just mad I never got to defend myself before it got dismissed.)
  13. We need to stand up and do something about it then! Its a shame that I have to consider uprooting my family to move to PA or VA where I know I'll be able to effectively protect them by exercising my 2A rights.
