  1. If someone wants to bet their life that they can break in my house and get to me before I can get to a weapon and stop them that is their gamble. I'm confident it won't end well for them but I'm not going to carry at home and live in paranoia. .
  2. You can't have a threaded barrel that you can unthread a muzzle device. If you have a 16+" crown barrel and want to attach a muzzle device with a set screw, that is legal.
  3. Tic Tac night. Soap and shaving cream. Sometimes we'd shoot houses with a slingshot using acorns as ammo.
  4. It's always good to show up to court with family. It gives a better impression. Wackos tend to be loners. No one knows what the future will bring. NJ is a shall issue state for FID. Technically, it's up to the prosecutor to prove you'll be unfit in the future. Getting a new letter from a doctor doesn't make the old letter go away. The prosecutor can still use it. The judge isn't stupid. He/she knows no one can predict the future.

  6. I think that is when the new law prohibiting buying ammo online could go into effect unless Christie vetoes it.
  7. That Glock 19 is probably the most rented rental gun there. Rental guns get a few hundred rounds through them and then back into the case where they are rented again. They get was more use and abuse without cleaning or preventive maintenance than a personally owned gun would ever get unless someone was really going out of their way to to shoot their gun until failure.
  8. Regarding bullet number 3, something I read a while ago leads me to think that the personal background check goes to the NJSP but the LE check goes to the FBI. I have no idea if that's true and as long as you don't have federal or international charges against you, I'd assume that the NJSP background check will be the same as the FBI check. I ran a background check on myself and the letter came to my house 2 days after I was fingerprinted. So, whatever they do, they do it quickly.
  9. This is the easiest way. When I look a the picture on page 30 of the manual, the mag disconnect lever looks just like the sear deactivation lever when it's popped out to take down.
  10. Why do you think your pistol has a magazine safety? Mine does not.
  11. I dry fire my M&P all the time. I don't think it will hurt things. Make sure it's unloaded!
  12. Lowest I've seen a Sport is $625 a couple years ago at Cheyenne.
  13. If you run a background check on yourself they mail the letter directly to you. I'm about 99% sure you have to get the fingerprints redone for your official FID background check.
  14. There are two errors the cops can make: 1. Assume no DV when there is DV and leave and someone winds up in the hospital or worse. 2. Assume there is DV when there is not, knock down doors and taser people. Doors get fixed and the tasered recover. Seems like #2 is better error to make.
