  1. are you serious? I used this stuff on my 308 AR.. its really flat.. and has been pretty durable considering its on a gun.. very easy to spray.. several really light coats.. dries fast..
  2. I was thinking the same thing.. answer appears simple.. I mark mine with a white paint marker.... if I ever need to change it I can easily get it off there... never had too much luck with labels.. when I would transport the labels would get jacked up..
  3. I looked at the Griffin one.. I have a griffin muzzle device on my 14in AR and it is top notch.. I literally just ordered a BRT comp for my EVO so I can take off the ridiculous faux supressor.. I guess I understand sticking that on there as so many people suppress them.. but god that thing looks silly..
  4. I run a 7.5 in AR SBR with a Black River Tactical comp..I have no problems with the gun at all being unpleasant.. my wife can shoot it all day long..
  5. I have the trijicon 1-6 on my 14in AR.. and it is a really nice optic.. I have almost all trijicon optics now.. I think they are really well made and work well.. only slightly on the pricey side..
  6. last I checked you could shoulder it.. has that changed?
  7. edit to add.. a brace is an accessory.. it is not an integral part of the firearm.. so they are not letting people use the brace to make length.. there are two types of braces... ones that go over ar15 buffer tubes.. buffer tubes are required for AR function.. so there you would measure with the buffer.. then you have braces on something like a shotgun.. or AK.. no buffer at all.. I THINK you would measure without the brace..
  8. my understanding.. and I am still wrapping my head around it.. is that this only applies to things that have a forward grip.. the forward grip deal was they could make a gun that was long enough to not be a pistol.. and have a front grip.. so its not a pistol.. but not have a stock so it wasn't a rifle.. basically loophole city.. so then people started duct taping folding braces on everything you could shoot.. front grips.. etc.. this letter is IMO just to put some hold on that.. I could be wrong.. since I have not fully processed.. but that is what I think is happening..
  9. as I said previously.. having one that is specifically approved.. IMO at least.. is the easiest road to take in this case.. there is finally something almost like a SBR / AR pistol available in NJ.. I would take that as a win and suck up the cost..
  10. I mean lets just be real.. "Pistol grip" means: well defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, - CHECK that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, - CHECK and which permits the firearm to be held and fired with one hand. - CHECK (keep in mind it just says that it can be.. not can be comfortably... or practically) you have to understand.. people ask questions.. you read the law.. and it is what it is.. are there shops not following this or that.. will the state prosecute.. I have no idea.. I am just answering based on what it is..
  11. How do FFLs sell AK variants when they are specifically banned.. I can’t tell you why this person does this.. or that person does that.. all i can tell you.. is if you read the description of pistol grip.. it’s a pistol grip.. no question about it..
  12. that is a pistol grip as defined by NJ law... IMO.. so having that does nothing to remove an evil feature.. as covered extensively in this thread...
  13. I know NJ is not the ATF.. but with the ATF when they give opinion letters they are very narrow in scope.. They are not about types of things.. or things that are similar.. they are valid for the exact specific thing that is asked about.. that is probably what is causing me to have this opinion..
  14. normally.. I would agree to build.. but I think this is the ONE instance where buying a complete AR holds some advantage... I think it is good to have a specific letter... about a specific gun.. from the state.. saying that it is legal.. when it is something somewhat questionable.. that letter is IMO worth quite a bit..

  16. an AR15 lower could technically become a not semi auto firearm.. so it is really stupid..
  17. my SBR started its life as a pistol before the whole brace thing was a thing.. completely PA legal.. just to add.. with it being a pistol.. you can technically carry it around.. loaded.. apparently you can do the same with the SBR but need a stamp.. my 7.5in AR has a LAW tactical folder.. which gives me a 5.56 carbine that fits in my backpack and can be carried..
  18. used 9mm Glocks are pretty cheap and run forever.. my first gun was a Glock 23 but ended up switching to 9MM.. still in Glocks.. some people hate them because of how they feel but I have no issue with it.. gun runs great.. low cost.. super reliable.. parts always available..
  19. can't you make an AR pistol anyway? I think if it has a brace you don't even need to worry about all this.. minus the front grip of course..
  20. what if hypothetically someone in another state like PA made one of these as a pistol.. which is legal... decided all of the sudden they didn't like it.. and transferred it to a NJ FFL.. would the NJ FFL then be able to transfer it correctly?
  21. in the first example the whole butt pad slides out not the tube portion.. it was just an example.. the eve stock is a better example.. there are no tubular parts involved.. so it does not telescope..
  22. the Evo could not be considered telescoping in any way.. and I don't need to define tube.. there is a common English definition of the word tube..
  23. if I market a suppressor as a muzzle brake that does not make it a muzzle brake.. the point being the manufacturers designation of a product is not a qualification when measuring legality in NJ unless I have missed some change in the law.. I am not a lawyer proceed at your own risk.. but if any cop picked up that gun... I do NOT think their instinct would be to consider that adjustable.. especially since in their handling... it would NOT adjust.. LOL
