  1. Hello all,

I have been out of the pistol purchase game for a while now and am kind of lost to the new rules. I have an NJFID card so only want to get a few permits to get something new. I know years ago we had an section on the home page with all the information but can’t seem to find it. Not sure if it’s me not seeing something right in front of me again or if my internet machine skills are lackluster as I get older. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

You can take something otherwise classified a pistol and turn it into an other, You would need an 07FFL to "remanufacture" the firearm so it is no longer a pistol tho, thats just for NJ.

People take pistols and slap vfg on them all the time if they are over 26OAL, in Merica.

anyone an 07 ffl? cuz i got some ideas!

  3. Hello,

I am looking to build an .40 "other non nfa firearm'. Looking for .40 BCG's, Barrels, Uppers, muzzle devices, buffer weights/springs, ect... an SBa3 stock... I will be getting my hands on a LRBHO lower as soon as the lords open up the freedom gates.. We can meet up and practice social distancing or send via mail.. Why 40? I have a literal ton of it and but loads of glock mags.. so need to make some use of it.

Barrels length 9 to 11" length.  I Will have the proper length muzzle device or extension pinned and welded of course to get my OAL <26" when completed

let me know what you have.

    Thanks

So the notification emails go to my spam folder now, even though I have clicked not spam a bunch of times.

    the procedure is straight forward:

    1) buy stripped lower receiver

    2) retain copy of receipts, 4473 (scan this on genius scan when at your FFL)

    3) fill out ATF form 1 on e-forms

    4) in the electronic file section attach the 4473

--> this is to prove its never been a rifle, pistol or shotgun

--> basically if its been a rifle or shotgun you are creating a sawed off shotgun per NJ Law

--> if its been a pistol you are creating an assault weapon per NJ Law

    5) send in your fingerprints

--> do not send certified, they don't have someone always signing

    6) send notification to CLEO

    7) wait 30 days

    8) approve = get engraving down

    first name, last name

    municipality , NJ

    9) Enjoy

can you get the engraving done prior? should not make a difference right? just thinking of having it done before finish applied

you mean this or this although 2nd is not VLTOR... or even this

this even specifies weight... OH BTW, what is the recommended weight for this build?

but been reading and .... I'm not so convinced that an VLTOR system is necessary...

outside NJgunforums sources...  some say that it does improve cycling as some describe it as a softer and tamed ... more reliable and pleasant...

then again, most are running FA and duty ... which I'm far from ... as I'm just plain Joe Schmoe with a desire ...and live behind the lines ... without FA access.

Unless tube diameter is not physically possible to fit into tube itself... not likely..

gonna try  what I have at my disposal.... and if cycling is a problem.. then purchase..

My priority is LEGALITY... OAL length criteria.. without pinning...

Context aside... sorry all, don't mean to hijack as I do know this is a PIcture thread Post... but will post my findings and results...

    nonetheless...   informative discussion is appreciated...

I have the BCM Intermediate Receiver Extension A5  kit with spring and buffer on my 14.5  BCM build. I have staked the castle nut so not taking it off but did put a tape measure to it from as close to the lower receiver as I could . so the installed measurements are what you are getting give or take 1/16 or so. H ope this helps
