  1. Message received, zero distortion! Thanks for all the replys. I'll try irons next time out. If I can find a shooting partner, I'll have them try as well.
  2. I can honestly say that I've done none of those things. As is is, I routinely remove the scope for storage (which I know is a no-no). All that being said, I'm not shooting beyond 100 yds, and I'm getting inconsistant results. I still like the cheek weld explanation.
  3. Scope is pre-Leupold, probably 15 - 20 yrs old. Got it off e-bay.
  4. Good suggestion, I do tend to move way too much. I'll give it a try.
  5. I'm holding center on a sighting target. I did shoot a run of factory ammo to confirm (or attempt to) that the scope was zeroed, but didn't touch it after that. I did also confirm that the scope was tight in the rings, and the rings were tight on the rail. I will try to shoot irons using a bull target next.
  6. Benchrest, and the conditions were windy on Sat. Can a 55gr SPBT be affected that much by the wind; ie, 6 in off POA? I'll try to find someone else to shoot as well.
  7. Not sure how to phrase this, but I'll try. I can't get my AR to group to save my life! I have a Stag 20 in. barrel, 1-9x Redfield scope, and a 3 1/2 to 4 lb trigger. Smallest groups I've ever had are probably 5-7 MOA. Now, I know I'm not the best shooter, but I can get better groups (3-5 moa) out of a 60 yr old Garand and iron sights with a shot out muzzle. I've started reloading, and the results so far haven't been much better than mil-sup. I know that reloading rifle is a lot of hit & miss (no pun intended). I've only shot 55 gr, and the barrel is 1/9, which I think is more suited for heaver loads. BUT, I'm only shooting 100 yrds, and I've never seen a keyhole. I can't understand how I can get 5 rds in 2 in. then another 5 rds 6 or 7 inchs low & right. I hope it's me and not the equipment. Just venting, any advice is welcome.
  8. FYI; check picture 4 in the OP. That is a "Garand Thumb" waiting to happen! The bolt isn't locked back, but held up on the follower! The first time you push down on the follower and WHAM! OUCH! ALWAYS make sure that you retract the Op rod all the way to the rear. PS I speaking from hard earned experience. PSS ENJOY!
  9. Saw the reference to "Bridgeman Products" in Englishtown. Anybody know if this is valid? Anybody been there? Closer than Farmingdale & Bordentown for me.

    Hi All!

Hi, Bob here from Middlesex. Just found the website and am very happy I did. I've been a gun owner for 4 yrs, and have been shooting for 5+. Have done most of my shooting at OBRPC, Shore Shot & Range 14. Haven't participated in many organized events yet, but hope to be starting soon. FID & PPs took about 11 weeks. I joined OBRPC 2 years ago, as it's extremely convenient. I've been reloading 9mm & .45 ACP for 2 years, and hope to start .223 & .30-06 in the near future.
