  1. Is the 22nd "firm"? I don't see a lot of guys on the attendance list. 22 is bad for me, have to celebrate one of like 3 "Christmas" that day. 29 on the other hand... ac
  2. I was looking at the bottom of my pistol purchase permits and noticed that it is the SELLER'S responsibility to send the appropriate carbon copies to the issuing PD and NJSP. What if the seller never does that? It is clear that the seller would be violating a NJ statute as it is listed right on the permit. Could the BUYER be in trouble? I have bought 2 pistols P2P. 1 was a close friend so I have no concerns. The other was a "stranger". Paranoia? ac
  3. The COE form has a spot for "Transferor's Firearms I.D. Card Number". Can this really be left blank?
  4. A coworker and I were discussing a crazy pistol purchase scenario he came across and we are wondering what the proper way to deal with it is. He got a call from his neighbor a few days ago. Apparently her husband passed away and he had a few guns (shotguns and a pistol) in the house she didn't feel comfortable with the grandkids around and stuff so she asked my coworker if he wanted them. Being a gun guy, of course he does. Here's the rub: of course she has no FID and can't find any paperwork for the guns. Ideas?
  5. It's a long gun. Long guns aren't tracked. Just take a clean Benjamin and hand him the shotgun. I KID, I KID. That would technically break a lot more than just NJ laws. You'd break federal regs too. For $100, just chalk it up to a loss. NJ simply won't let their commercial business trade freely. There is a reason people from NJ head to PA to buy guns but not the other way around... Soon every zoning board in NJ will be closing gun shops since "that service is available in a neighboring state withing the market district".
  6. Does someone who's permanent residency is in another state (as yours would be FL) need an FPID to purchase a long gun in NJ? How about "handgun" ammunition? ac
  7. That sounds easy...until you realize this guy could have 60+ years of life left. He might move 10 more times. Surely, there must be an easy-ish way to transfer the gun back to the manufacturer legally. Or, just chuck the paperwork, realize the likelihood of an issue arising is about the same as winning the lottery or less, and just assume the manufacturer will keep proper records as they are probably required by the ATF.
  8. My wife is a CPA...if we approach the zoning board to run a business from home, and IF they ask, we tell them it will be a "buy appointment accounting firm", and then I later apply for an FFL and manage to get approved... Think it might work? ac
  9. Make sure SW has a valid NJ PPP for the transfer. Then you can simply file the 2 copies of the form properly (1 to NJSP and 1 to issuing PD). LOL Maybe send a certified letter to NJSP firearms stating that you have turned the firearm in to the manufacturer and it is no longer in your possession? ac
  10. BRaptor, That is EXACTY my point. The card is NOT invalid. It is only invalid on THIS FORUM. I don't think it is NJ Admin Code that prohibits FFLs from non-matching addy's. I THINK it is ATF guidelines. Although I have heard from multiple FPIDs that as long as both IDs are "valid" they would accept them. This forum is what goes completely nuts about "matching FPID and NJDL" for FTF transfers, when an NJDL is not even required for FTF. Next time you are at your LGS, ASK the FFL what he/she thinks. ac
  11. How so? With the wrong address on the ID, it isn't "valid". Therefore, using the ID would be considered a crime. No?
  12. What if he puts down the address on the back of his NJDL (change of address sticker) and says that he moved 29 days ago and has applied for his change of address FPID with his local PD?
