  1. The only time planes hit the WTC. Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.
  2. Whatever the case, if they don't respond to the 2 emails I sent, I may have to use the contact info you gave, and if you don't mind, likely paraphrase what you wrote, since it seemed to work! Thanks for the info! Edit: Nevermind Hello XXX, Thank you for your email and your interest in Gander Mountain. I’m sorry that you were charged more than the initial order confirmation total. I will be more than happy to assist you with this issue. I have applied a credit in the amount of $20.00 back to your MC ending in xxxx. It will take two business days to process the credit through our system. I do apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us. Again, thank you for choosing Gander Mountain and have a wonderful day!! Sincerely, Latasha B.
  3. Did anybody get charged the full amount with no discount? The statement I recieved with the ammo, and via email showed the discount applied and a final price. Checking my statement I see that I was charged 20 dollars more than that amount. What about anybody else?
  4. Doesn't it suck having to base your firearms purchases based on the time restrictions of having to get pistol permits? Seems like it can almost force you into a purchase you may not want as much as something else. Thank goodness I maintain my residency in a free state!
  5. Fact. I have shot thousands of rounds from real guns since the last time I shot a gun on a video game! Though now I kind of want to play some videogames...
  6. I haven't played a video game in over a month, but I do play on xbox live occasionally. So I guess if that makes me a dorky gamer boy, what does having thousands of posts on online forums make you?
  7. Mine stems from element 116 (actually it is a lab created unstable isotope), known as Ununhexium. As it isn't an official element it hasn't yet been named. It it was, it would possibly be called Bonesinium, a much better name. This is what I have been telling people it means for about 6 years now. In truth, I was very skinny in high school. One of my hockey teammates came up with the nickname of Bones. It stuck and I was called that all through high school by classmates, teachers, and coaches. I began using it as a gamer-tag while playing video games online. It however was too common. I must have been doing something science related when I came up with Bonesinium, but that is what I came up with, and have been using the above story as an explanation for it. 6 years later I still use it as a gamer-tag and on forums...
  8. Bingo. You said it much better then me. The more things and responsibilities you take away, the less responsible people think the have to be. As terrible as that is, and how it shouldn't be that way, it is. It really is a downward spiral. This isn't just an issue with firearms, as it is with a whole buttload of things.
  9. Are you sure it was his FID card and not range membership card? I've shot there many times (including today) and never been asked, nor seen anyone asked for their FID card. I'd be pretty upset if I was not only considering you don't need one, but I don't have one. Which guy was it do you remember?
  10. The biggest factor in young people being poorer drivers is inexperience. I don't trust people over 70 driving, as statistically they are involved in the most accidents per distance driven, yet you don't see arguments on banning them from driving, or carrying guns. The more restrictions you put on people, the less people feel accountable for actions, the worse people act. If only Americans weren't generally rude, abrasive and self centered, amongst other things........
  11. Increase the age of being able to drive. Increase the age of being able to drink. Increase the age of being able to smoke. Increase the age of being able to carry a gun. Increase the age of being able to make your own choices about having sex. Increases the age of thinking someone can be responsible. Increases the age of expectations that someone can be responsible. If 18 is considered an adult, then there is no reason that adults should be restricted on things that other adults have. All that a higher age limit does is make peoples expectations of what makes someone responsible skewed to an abstract age limit. God bless those states that don't have an age limit to conceal carry. Honestly though, it doesn't matter what age you make it. There will be people of all and any ages that are responsible, and that are irresponsible. The biggest problem is the American culture. And that certainly isn't likely to change any time soon. It is actually 35, but the point is taken.
  12. NJ State Correctional Officers carry the H&K USP in .40 S&W.
  13. I wanted to post something but I don't know what to say.. I just watched the interview on the Colbert Report. I'm still not sure what to say. But I do know that there is no way I would have nearly the composure he had talking, nor the professionalism. He certainly is a deserving recipient. I hope everyone else has a chance to watch the interview as well. It definitely hit me hard. Thank you SSG Giunta.
  14. Isn't it like over an hour from anywhere in NJ?
  15. Good thing that all but 12 of the listed "assault firearms" don't say something 'type' firearms. Enjoy those M1A's, and AR's, they will be next! And soon they will somehow consider the SKS fixed magazine detachable because it can be opened, Garands will become carbines, anything that says 'Bushmaster' and 'rifle' will will count as 2 evil features, etc.
  16. Well, whatever the case, as a military member living in NJ, there are certainly no shortcuts if you want to get your FPID. In fact, it would appear to be more difficult. Local PD don't know what to do if you don't have a NJ drivers license. State PD tells you you have to go through the local PD. So good luck applying! I have since given up and buy my ammo out of state or online. I buy all my guns back home in a free state as it is. I am seriously considering just moving to PA when my lease is up to avoid all the NJ crap. Side note. I had a handgun stolen from me (since recovered) and the officer seemed more interested in questioning me and how I could have gun without a FPID, then having any concern that a handgun was stolen!
  17. I would imagine, that because the judge refused to even tell them about the laws, claiming it was "irrelevant", which is what the jury is suppose to determine, they had no choice but to convict him. I bet had there been one gun owner, or someone on the jury who knew the law already, that he would have been found innocent. If only this could get overturned and the judge instead forced to serve out the rest of Aitkens term. That would be real justice. Not this crap about 2nd Amendment hating power mongers making criminals of normal citizens.
  18. I'm looking for some opinions on a NJ legal complete upper receiver. I'm looking for an A3 design flattop style, barrel chambered for 5.56, chrome lined, 1/7 twist. Mid-length gas system, M4 feed ramps would be preferred. I really don't know much about AR's, and want a completed upper that is already Jersey legal. I don't want to have to modify the barrel, or grind off any bayonet lugs. I plan on building my own lower. As little as I know about AR's in general, I know even less about BUIS's and the different variations (ie. flip-up, fixed) and how they work when you have optics mounted. I'd like to run a RDS on it, but of course some irons sights are always nice to have. Any recommendations?
  19. I fully agree with having a safe. No more than 2 months after I bought my first gun, my handgun was stolen. Fortunately for me I did get it back. I bought a safe a week later.
  20. Thanks for the info guys! One last thing. How busy is it usually (when there aren't matches/competitions going on)? I see that it is key card accessed. Are you often able to go shoot and not have to worry about a bunch of other shooters, structured cease fires, etc? Basically I'm asking if you are able to shoot on your own time at your own pace. I'm starting to get quite sick of only 20 minute intervals, limited hours of operations, shooters all around you, and short times to set up your gear and targets.
  21. I really shouldn't have to search out various State PD's that are willing to do their job...
  22. From their website: What is a "Capital Contribution Fee"? So to become a member, it costs $614 dollars just for the first year, and $214 for each year thereafter? Is that correct? Anybody know if they have any sort of discount for military? I would be all over joining for the $200 a year but don't know if I can justify the $400 when I could PCS anytime in the near future...
  23. I am not in Jersey by choice, I just happened to be stationed here. Since I have guns, and like to shoot, I figured I'd get my NJ Firearms Purchase ID. Local PD says because I don't have a NJ drivers license to go to the State PD, and have called to confirm. So I go to the State PD, and they tell me they were wrong and to go back. I explain to them I was there and was sent to them after they called to ask, they don't care. I ask them if they can call the local PD to explain to them, they refuse. I explain to them that I am an out of state resident regardless, and that out of state residents are required to apply at a State PD, they won't help me. I call the local PD back and they again direct me to the State PD. I really should have taken names of everybody I dealt with. New Jersey is the most ridiculous state to deal with. After all this I am still no closer to getting a FPID. I'll just stick with buying ammo online and out of state. Much easier in the end, and significantly cheaper. Since I was out and about anyways, I figured I'd check out the local places around that sold firearms and ammo. I was shocked! I figured they would be higher than other places, but some places were just ridiculous. Generally, anything at MSRP is usually too high, but the prices were significantly (100's) above MSRP at one place! Ammo prices appeared to be about 25% higher than I've seen elsewhere, and that isn't even including sales tax. General knowledge was also terrible. When one of the employees asked for help, I joked with my buddy that he probably wouldn't even know what I was talking about if I asked. But joking or not, I was right. Is this normal for Jersey? I am thinking that it was just this one store. The other store seemed more reasonable.
  24. Well whatever the process is for getting one of these, I have given up. Local PD tells me to go the the State PD. State PD tells me to go to the local PD, and the never ending cycle continues.
