  1. Try and get a 1 1/8th load that goes as close to 1300fps as possible or better. Also no low recoil slugs. She is picky about her diet.
  2. Get rifled slugs, I would say 2 boxes minimum from a previous conversation with Vlad.
  3. I have a 6 up dual load and an IP 2.8. They are both on tech locks which are easy to swap. You are welcome to use them if you are on my squad. If you want to use my gun get some stout target loads or better. It doesn't like the light stuff.
  4. Touché Sir, Touché! 2 funnies on the same thread! I am impressed!
  5. I am going to miss him, I always did really well on the stages he was ROing!
  6. How did the third party accuracy go? I am thinking about building an 18 inch upper and really like the specs on this. Is there an appreciable difference between a mid length system and a rifle length? Brian
  7. Burris TAC30 can be had for 230 at amazon on sale sometimes, I have seen the PEPR mount on sale for 60-70 bucks as well. Pretty sure the TAC has a lifetime warranty too.
  8. How was the match? You almost couldn't ask for better weather! Brian
  9. I have been shooting competitions for almost 20 years and still don't know what I am doing. Welcome to the sport! It is addictive. Let me help introduce you. "USPSA meet Lou's wallet"
  10. Sorry Vlad. I pulled something in my arm and decided that I was better off not competing today.
  11. I may take you up on the offer Alec. Let me dry fire to see how bad my double action motion is and I will let you know.
  12. All I have is an old 357 and 2 speed loaders. I would totally embarrass myself.
  13. It would be awesome if we could do a rifle stage as a bonus. No more than 2 members away from a squad at a time or just rotate the whole squad through. Let people pay an extra 10 bucks to shoot the bonus stage with a rifle or pistol! I vote no shotgun stage though. At least not until I get a somewhat competitive shotgun. Lol I did register for open but may switch to minor revolver to make Alec laugh.
  14. I will crawl out of my hole and be there if I don't see my shadow! What division should I shoot Alec?????
  15. If you ever load 40 cal you can also use it for push through resizing.
  16. Dollar Store window cleaner. Spray the crap out of the barrel and bolt. Run a few patches through then pack up and clean at home. Has worked for me for years and only takes a few minutes.
  17. Volunteer to work for a machinist for free as an intern. Learning how to properly use a lathe and milling machine are necessary skills for a true gunsmith.
  18. Get a chrono! It is nice to know whether you are where you need to be or not. I use a prochrono, for 100 bucks it is right on with the match chronos.
  19. Back on topic, I prefer 124s over 147s for nine. I also prefer 165s over 180s or 200s in .40. I also prefer 200s over 230s for .45. (185s if I could get them to reliably feed) This is just my preference as I like a snappier feeling gun instead of a slower feeling one. With either heavy or light bullets, I can not pull the trigger any faster. The gun does seem to cycle slower, to me, with the heavier bullets. That is just my perception of it though. The 45 255s that someone introduced me to were really slow cycling and did slow down the splits that I could shoot! They were the only heads that actually made a difference and were too heavy for me. You can watch them all the way to the target though. Brian
  20. Did you use any lube? I would run some lube and try it again, just in case, and see what happens. I ran into a similar issue with 44 mag when I reloaded it, but not as bad, and the hand wax lube solved it. I would try the lube and then call Redding. Brian
  21. We'll I went to CJ today and fired off my 30 different reloads of 30-06. The surplus Korean M2 was low to mid 2700s. The 155 Hornady A Max's were all mid to high 2400s. I was happy enough with the velocity spread and was extremely pleased with the lake city loads. I guess the .5 grain swng didn't make that big of a difference.
