  1. I don't see it to be a problem but was waiting to see if someone knew the real scoup. Well I guess we will both find out now. What do ya ride, Im on a 08 Ultra and and 83 (Kick only) Shovel but putting the Pu$$y button back on for the heck of it, kicking her in front of a crowd ain't pretty if there are a few hardbellys around. LOL Harry
  2. Hey all, I am new here but let me tell you a little about me. I was just a small kid when I fist went to a range with my old man, just small caliber rim fire stuff. Started with them I still have one old Marlin (I think that what it is CRS setting in as I get older: CRS for the older folk who have forgotten and newer folk that don't know is "Can't Remember Sh*t) rifle, well it's probable over 50 years old and my next visit to AZ and I'll bring her back and pass along the sport of shooting to my 11 YO daughter. Well back to my plug, I know most of the folks here are well versed in shooting and the sport, but for the new folks who just happen to find these forums I figured I'd pass along a little information. I had limited experience with hand guns, yea I did shoot in the desert and some other places but had no formal training. Well I was going for my Florida CCW and was looking for NRA certified courses to satisfy the requirements for this. I found a few places but Gun For Hire wasn't too far away and I signed up for the class. Let me tell you first the class was great, very informative and even though I have shot a hand gun (been some time) I learned allot and was very pleased in learning a few things that will help me out getting back into this now that I don't have to go back and correct in the future. Instructors and all the staff were great as well as the other people who were there that did the CCW paperwork with me. I do have to pass along a special thanks to Anthony, he made me feel like I was an old timer at the place and we had known each other for years. Damn good guy, straight up and no BS kind of guy. Plus I scheduled my first class the day of the big close to 30" snow storm in December, asked the night before if the class was still on and was answered right back in my email that come rain snow floods wind or what ever were were good to go. Well I made my way up there the next day in the snow with no problems other then having to park in a snow drift right behind Anthony and was the only person to show for the class, the other 5 or 6 got their pink pu$$y patches for not coming out and I got a 1 on 1 class with a fantastic instructor. Went back being the Bullet Hole wimped out and didn't open that day a week later to complete the live fire portion of the class and CCW paperwork. Nothing but quality instruction, very friendly and supper attitudes, if your wondering about a place to go and are new to firearms, or just an old timer looking for certifications for your CCW I can't say there is a better place to go for the over all experience. I'll be back for a few other courses, Combo Pistol home defense and Shotgun, and hear there may be a tactical course that will be different than any other type available in NJ pending approval in the future that really would give you a real life idea of what a stressful situation would be in defending yourself. Looking forward to them but will be a few months of practice at a range before I feel up to it for that. Again, Anthony and the staff are first class and I would recommend Gun for Hire to anyone who asks. Harry
  3. New here but didn't see this covered anywhere and being I am getting older I'd like to know the facts before finding out the hard way. That should make a few of ya relive the past. <G> That being said, I Ride a Harley, My 83 doesn't have bags so I won't be using that bike but have soft saddle unlockable bags (is that cool with how I am transporting listed below), but my 08 has had lockable side bags and a center tour pack that is also lockable. Now I am thinking about joining Shore Shot tomorrow, (won't be on the bike in the snow. lol) but it's a nice 35 minute ride or over an hour on back roads on the bike. I was wondering if I can transport on the bike. Note: I keep my guns unloaded with trigger locks inside of locked cases with the ammo and mags in a separate locked container. Is this cool as long as they are in the locked side bags and tour pack?? Harry
  4. Thank you very much for the information, I'll check the place out this Tuesday when they open. Harry
  5. I know this is an old thread but had a few questions. I am new to this forum but am working my way around. I am currently without a range to shoot at. I have seen you posts about SS in different threads and had a few questions if you don't mind. 1> I see you mentioned they give discounts for Memebers of the NJGF, would that also be on b on membership? 2> Do you have any idea how busy the range is when they open during the week? I am getting my wife into shooting also and doing her paperwork to get her FID, next is my Daughter, she is 11 and was wondering if it was like when I was a kid back in the 70's and I could bring her with me to shoot 22 rimfire rifle also. Sorry for all the questions. Harry
  6. I am just getting back into shooting and was looking for a range close to me, I live in Sayreville, tell me a little more about the South River Range please. Harry
