  1. That's what the sign says, but I used my phone in there while waiting 3 hours for a NICS check a few weeks ago...I usually don't use it when I'm there but after a couple hours I was pretty freaking bored! Didn't take pictures but I was texting... Apparently in PA you can't leave the store once the NICS process starts, I wanted to go get dinner while I was waiting but the guy said once they call starts you need to remain on premises....Who Knew?
  2. I agree there is no reason for them not to sell guns and ammo!
  3. Thanks for the support! My letter waas almost the same only I didn't ask them not to build, just to call the Governor and Sweeny and nudge them to do the right thing. I don't think Christi needs to much of an excuse not to sign these terrible pieces of legislation if they make it to his desk and this would give him an excellent excuse not to sign. He may not be the best friend we got in this fight but I got to believe Christi is smart enough to know that these so called laws they are trying to pass are pure garbage as written. I contacted Frank Fiamingo too and he was going to pursue contacting them through the NJ2AS! Here is the response I got so far from Bass Pro Shop: William, Thank you for contacting us concerning the gun law matter in New Jersey. I have forwarded it to our compliance department, and we will take into consideration your request. Thank You, Kathy J. Stewart Secretary to Riley Daniels Director of Retail Administration Bass Pro Shops (417)873-5074 (417)873-5063 Fax [email protected] I guess we'll see what happens...
  4. With all due respect I think you guys are missing the point. It makes no difference if they sell firearms in the store or not! They are a pro 2A company that plans to build 1 or 2 large retail stores in this state. This will have a tremendous ecconomic impact to AC and the other location if they actually build there. The sales tax generated by the store, and now since they'll have a physical location in the state they will be required to collect sales tax from all on-line purchases in this state...etc. Point is they have some influence!. Not to mention the jobs it will create. And say what you want people will go to AC just to go to this store! We can't afford to leave anything in reserve, now is the time to act, and if they can help even a little by planting a seed of doubt in the Governors mind it can't hurt. And on the other subject of guns in a casino...I believe it is a hotel and casino. the casino is the part with the games....I was told by people with a carry permit (ex LEO) that the floor of the casino is the off limits area of the casino. And, they just built a large public parking garage right next to the location they are planning to build the Bass Pro. So if you were buying a gun just park there to be safe. This is the first response I got from Bass Pro: William, Thank you for contacting us concerning the gun law matter in New Jersey. I have forwarded it to our compliance department, and we will take into consideration your request. Thank You, Kathy J. Stewart Secretary to Riley Daniels Director of Retail Administration Bass Pro Shops (417)873-5074 (417)873-5063 Fax [email protected] More people need to email and request some assistance from them! I will keep you posted with any future responses. And I emailed Frank Fiamingo (NJ2AS President) and they are getting on board with this too.
  5. I understand that but it would be good for them nationally and they were part of the movement to boycott the Pennsylvania Outdoor Show!
  6. I was thinking of who we could get to help us push our agenda/point of view... I was listening to some of ask the Govenor, and heard them talking about how he is trying to get Atlantic City back on its feet. The Govenor mentioned how Bass Pro Shop was getting ready to build a new store in AC. And then it hit me, we should petition/email/call Bass Pro Shop and explain to them how NJ is in the process of passing these draconian gun laws and urge them to express their concerns over these new laws to the powers that be, and explain to those powers that maybe NJ is not he best place for them to invest in a new store. It couldn't hurt and the store is a very big deal for the area and State financially! Just a call from someone at Bass Pro to the Govenor or Sweeney might just make a difference. Anyway, just my .02. I sent an email and am waiting for a response. Regards, Will
  7. Box is the original factory box with all proper markings... So you think I'm good to go? Thanks for help!
  8. Hello everyone, I have a friend down in Florida who needs 556 ammo to take a certification class. He can't find anything online or in stores down there for less than a buck a round. I have 500 rounds I can give him but I am unsure of the legality of it. I know UPS will ship it if is properly marked. I'm just not sure if I (a non FFL) can ship it. Any advice would be welcome. I plan to stop by UPS tomorrow but would kinda like to know before I go in. Thanks for your help. Regards, Will
  9. That's a great letter! I was just getting ready to write a similar letter. I'm going to urge him to veto any bills that get to his desk, because of the way they are being rammed through the legislature just like New York and that the bills are poorly crafted and full of errors that should not be allowed to be signed into law! I too was going to comment on the way Asm Mainor conducted himself, and that many citizens who wanted to testify (for and against) were not allowed to! This is going to be a long road to haul but we all need to keep the pressure on! Will
  10. You don't have to go through a NJ FFL if you are purchasing in person! You can buy a long gun in another state from a person or an FFL in that state. F2F must go through an FFL in that state or be shipped to an FFL in NJ so a NICS can be run. You have no problems with the air rifle you purchased in NY as long as you transport it in NJ in accordance with NJ laws. Handguns (BB, BP or Modern) must go through a NJ FFL...
  11. Thanks, I get that part, but what are the restrictions? Where would I find them? Thanks again.
  12. Sorry, but what does continuous state restrictions mean? Just curious, I tried to google it but it all looked like legal mumbo jumbo that hurt my head Thanks for any plain english explanation!
