  1. A few days ago, the Blaze reported on the low-key plans of the Obama administration to increase the penalties for certain gun law violations, and add steps to the background checks for legal gun ownership. Today the administration’s plans are beginning to come into effect. Through an Executive Order, the Obama administration is implementing new restrictions on the sale of certain weapons in border states, and increasing the penalties for violating certain firearms laws. Fox News is reporting on the purpose of the gun control executive orders: “In an effort to stem the illicit flow of weapons into Mexico, the Justice Department announced Monday that all gun shops in four Southwest border states will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles. Under the new policy, federal firearms licensees in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico must report purchases of two or more of some types of rifles by the same person in a five-day span. The requirement applies to purchases of semi-automatic rifles that have detachable magazines and a caliber of greater than .22. ATF estimates it will generate 18,000 reports a year. ATF will retain the information and if no investigative leads have been realized after two years, it will be purged.” The Daily Beast seems to have the inside track on more Executive Orders, however, claiming recent conversations with administration officials. TDB says the upcoming Executive Orders will have more impact than what Fox outlines above, including: “A national electronic system designed to make background checks for handgun buyers simpler and faster, leaving an electronic paper trail. [And] Tougher sentencing guidelines for straw buyers that Holder’s department pushed through procedural hoops at the U.S. Sentencing Commission earlier this year.” Fed and guns
  2. WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — Six months after Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot, the White House is preparing to propose some new steps on gun safety, though they’re likely to fall short of the bold measures activists would like to see. Spokesman Jay Carney said that the new steps would be made public “in the near future.” He didn’t offer details, but people involved in talks at the Justice Department to craft the new measures said they expected to see something in the next several weeks. Whatever is proposed is not expected to involve legislation or take on major issues, like banning assault weapons, but could include executive action to strengthen the background check system or other steps. “The president directed the attorney general to form working groups with key stakeholders to identify common-sense measures that would improve American safety and security while fully respecting Second Amendment rights,” Carney said Thursday. “That process is well under way at the Department of Justice, with stakeholders on all sides working through these complex issues, and we expect to have some more specific announcements in the near future.” Anti-gun groups have been disappointed to see no action so far from President Barack Obama, who supported tough gun control measures earlier in his career but fell largely silent upon becoming president. Some activists were using the opportunity of the six-month anniversary of the Giffords shooting on Friday to speak up. The shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz., killed six people and wounded more than a dozen others, including Giffords. Two months later, Obama wrote an opinion piece in Giffords’ local paper, the Arizona Daily Star, calling for “sound and effective steps” to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, including strengthening background checks. He wrote: Guns and gov't
  3. Good luck... My house has been for sale for 6 weeks and only two people have come through. One was ready to make an offer and then came to his senses that he wanted to look in PA. I hold not hope for this state.. BTW, our taxes went up another $300 this year.
  4. I apologize as well. I am one of those people that is very passionate about freedom and see what is going on around us. 4 years ago i was one of those "brain dead" drones that was "anti-gun", pro government, pro-entitlement, etc. Then in late 2008 my eyes were opened and man oh man I wish I took the "blue pill". If my views seem extreme, I do apologize but I am very passionate about what has happened to our country. The more I study history the more is revealed... once again, I was a "brain dead" history dope. The propaganda is very scary and follows certain regimes of the past. The Romans, Nazi's, Mao and others... they break down families, religion, societies, monetary system...they control food, roads and so forth and finally their means of defense. I found it amazing how the past three administrations have followed this propaganda to a "T". FDR, Wilson and others started this progressive agenda and have almost completed their task. I get frustrated when I tell my friends (trying to help) to stock up on some food, water and if you are comfortable with it get a shot gun. I am told "you are crazy, that's dumb, you worry too much, etc". What is so bad about have a two month supply of food? Does that merit calling me crazy? If this some sort of denial-defense mechanism? What's the big deal, so you end up with some extra food around the house... what seems crazy to me are the people that think that is "crazy". Would you go hiking without a compass, extra food and water? Why do people put money in a savings account? That must be CRAZY talk...right? At some point our laws are illegal and favor criminals, which put me and my family in danger. Honestly, I am a big softie and would run, be cornered and have no other choice before even thinking about drawing my weapon. There are so many things that can go wrong (innocent by standers, property, my family, etc). BTW, speaking of corrupt organizations... research "The Home Depot", they give a LOT of support to left leaning radical groups, they do not let workers wear "patriotic pins". I don't think I am allowed to post those links, If anyone wants the links I will PM them to you.
  5. You are correct... edited post. Guess trying to show the urgency and you are correct, that was stupid.
  6. Interesting... slandering again with no responsibility for your MISINFORMATION. Ignorance is bliss...
  7. Flash mob Phila attack More SC teen mobbed Flash Chicago Many, many more on line.
  8. Hitler was a dynamic and inspirational speaker. The first five years he grew government, spent money, was a HUGE supporter of unions, demonized groups, Nationalized healthcare, ran banks, car companies....He was loved and seemed harmless. Nah, Obama and his Progressive/Marxist (neo liberal) cronies have no plans of ruling over us. They are following the Constitution and our wishes... right?
  9. Halocaust survivor gives account of incremantal steps of Hitler... truly AMAZING! This administration are NOT Marxists they are National Socialists! Her story is unbelievable and shows how Hitler's propaganda convinced the populace to vote for and trust him. Kitty Werthman
  10. What Hitler did was legal under their law... so yes, it is ridiculous! This is why Judges were meant to uphold and interpret the Constitution and not write laws they THINK go along with the Constitution.
  11. I like to sleep and night and losing sleep for the next ten years and looking over my shoulder ain't worth it. This guy did the right thing... Just like this guy, I would NOT BLINDLY leave the $17,000 with some "teller" or whomever. Seems like this guy was thinking along the same lines by calling the police, getting some witnesses. If that failed put some sort of message in the local paper or online about "large sum of cash found... please describe". However, if it was enough to retire wealthy at my age all bets are off...
  12. Is the United Nations gunning for Americans’ second Amendment rights? In an op-ed for Forbes, University of Houston professor Larry Bell rails against the U.N.’s “Small Arms Treaty.” Bell claims that the international body is passing the measure off as an effort intended to combat terrorists and insurgents. He says the measure has a very different purpose: Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty”…you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms. Bell claims that this international treaty, from the Obama administration’s perspective, is an opportunity to increase domestic gun control. If implemented, he believes it will enforce rougher licensing requirements, more red tape, create an “international gun registry,“ ”confiscate and destroy all ‘unauthorized’ civilian firearms’” and severely impede Americans’ right to bear arms. Bell explains that this plan is very real and that the U.S. has already joined 152 other countries in to endorse a U.N. Arms Treaty Resolution that will lead to a 2012 conference. It is during this meeting that plans to enact these international new controls will take place. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said she will encourage the Senate to ratify he resolution as well. You can read more about Bell’s thoughts on this important subject here. Blaze
