  1. I have that plus a lot of food and a lot of powder and components. If I get snowed in Im gonna get fat and make a ton of ammo. Ken
  2. CJN makes some dam nice hardcast bullets. Their .452 250gn RNFP is by far the best one i have used to date. Ken
  3. Be careful with those things. I know it sounds crazy but practice. Put scoop after scoop on the scale so you can see how much you vary. Work on technique til you get your charge to charge variation as low as possible. I doubt you will be off enough to do any harm but you can and most likely will see it in accuracy if your charges vary too much. Ken
  4. 45 colt. Large pistol primers. I thought about cutting the pockets and trying a rifle primer. I thought better of it though. The gun in question is a rossi 94 lever in 45 colt. Ken
  5. Me either. If/when I do find it I will give it a try and update this thread. For now I will keep loading with autocomp since I have a few pounds. Ken
  6. Thats why I am interested in it. I notices a little bit of a difference with the CFE part. I see less blue/green on the patch when I exclusively use it. I the "eliminator" though. Ken
  7. Its not sensitivity I am after.. It is cup hardness and/or thickness. When I deprime with the winchester LPP the anvil is not crushed almost flat as it is with the CCI LPP. What would fix the whole problem is putting a lighter spring on the hammer in this rifle. Or, start working up a load with LRP and cut the 45 colt pockets a hair deeper. I would rather not do that though. Ken
  8. I have been using winchester autocomp in my 40 sw loads for a couple years now. I dont shoot a comped pistol but it has proven the best for my needs. I do get a reaonable ammount of copper fowling though. Hodgdon just came out with the CFE pistol that has charge weight, pressure, and velocity very close to autocomp. If I can find it I am going to give it a try. Am I going to me the first? Ken
  9. I think where he went wrong is buying it online living here in new jersey. Remember, only this state considers an air rifle a firearm. So, in the eyes of the state he purchased a firearm without the proper ID. Im not defending this BS, just pointing out how the law is written. Ken
  10. If I had the time I would do testing on my own. Rite now i do know that the Winchester primers appear to be harder based on the fact that the cup does not get crushed into oblivion upon firing. That is what made me question the accepted order of primers. I will just continue to use them as I am happy with the results. Ken
  11. Older rugers seem to be of better quality. Ken
  12. Its really amazing what a difference it makes. I havent had a stovepipe since I made the switch. Ken
  13. If I logged in and saw this yesterday I would have gone down there. I just a day late as usual! Ken
  14. I guess you guys are rite. I am just not quite ready to take the word of the internet on something without facts. Perhaps I am just showing my age? Ha! Ken

    IRS scam

From what he tells me that is exactly how it went down. He should have known better though. He emigrated here legally 20 years ago! He is going to contact the IRS tomorrow. Ken
  16. I just looked this gun up. Is it that different from a S&W bodygaurd? They only come with one mag by the way.. Ken

    IRS scam

I could not agree more! To all.. It was really hard for me not to scream at him when he told me what he did. I learned the meaning of bit your tongue for sure. I try not to freak out at friends but this pushed it hard! I am still somewhat in shock that he fell for this. Thats why I figuered I would put it out here. The people on the phone must have been mighty convincing. This guy would ask everyone he knows opinion before doing anything financially. Even his family was caught off guard by this and now Im playing grief counselor. His family was not quite as nice as I was. Ken
  18. You just proved my point... All what someone on the internet says. There is no factual information here, just forum speculation. I am not trying to disprove you or be a dick and start a flame war. Im just looking for factual information from an independent lab test or manufacturer info or anything along those lines. Some of the info above is "from my experience". Well, from my experience thats not quite true! I have a great deal of respect for the info I get here. For the most part everyone is fairly accurate, yourself included. This is a great forum with a lot of knowledgeable members. Ken
  19. So a friend of mine fell victim to a scam today..... Someone supposedly from the IRS called him and told him he owed $8000 from 2007. They called him repeatedly telling him they where going to come and get him if he did not immediately wire them the money. He told them he did not have 8k sitting in the bank so they let him send 6k immediately to settle the debt. I thought this guy was smarter than that. I was wrong. I made him go file a report with the police even though I know there is nothing they can do. The police told us both that this is becoming a big problem lately. Since I have not heard anything about it until today I figured I would share here. I know that almost everyone on this board is smarter than that but I just wanted to put it out here. Warn anyone you know that you think may fall for this kind of crap that it is going on like the elderly or people from other countries (as in this case). Scammers are using the fear of the government as a tactic now. Its a shame Ken
  20. Its not quite like that. The CCI's are hit so hard that the anvil is somewhat crushed. I dont get the with the Winchesters. I cant find any real primer hardness info anywhere except what is "widely known in the reloading community" Where did the community find this info. Even the primer companies are useless for this info. BTW, The firearm involved is a rossi lever in 45 colt Ken
  21. Im a solid maybe. I have been meaning to take a ride out there but I am not sure when I will have the time to do it. Ken
  22. Where do you get this information? I have no reason to doubt it but I cannot find anything on primer hardness. I have a 45 colt revolver that really beats the hell out of primers. The winchester primers seem to hold up better than the CCIs indicating to me that they are harder..... Ken
  23. I just looked at one of the boxes of mini mags I got and it is 375 rounds, not 325. That drops the price to $.07 each or $7.00 per 100. Ken
  24. That is a most excellent comparison. I dont know that I would even join a club that he is the president of. Ken
  25. Yes. I have had it done 2 times. The first time hurt like a bitch. It can make the pain of the clot look like a little scratch. The second time, no big deal. I think the first Dr stuck me wrong or something. Ken
