  1. Very nice protected rear sight on that. I wonder why other manufacturers don't put wings like that on.
  2. Try another dealer. I know for the diagnostic charge (like $75 or $100) the Toyota dealer will spend an unlimited amount of time figuring out what the problem is, and then only charge you for the time to fix it once the problem is found, with no extra charge if it took a lon of time to diagnose. So your Chrysler dealer, having accepted the diagnostic charge, should have located the problem, if it required him doing research and getting on the phone to Detroit. It is sad to see that the American car dealers (at least this one) have not improved. It is the reason why so many people bought japanese cars - GM, Ford and Chrysler dealers with service departments who treated their customers like garbage.
  3. If you can get him to sign a power of attorney over to you you, you can sign for him on the paperwork for transfer. That is easiest and he wouldnt even know. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  5. Don't let things drive you nuts. Send money to advocacy organizations and let them fight for you. They are doing a good job. Way better than the job they were doing 20 years ago when they were a joke and laws were getting passed left and right. Enjoy your time at the range.
  6. Thunderbolts work 100% in my Henry lever gun and Marlin XT-22. .22LR was designed in 1887, I always wonder why people expect it to function at all in a semi-auto action.
  7. Buy a nice Pelican hard case for it, put a corrosion inhibitor in with it, padlock it, and put it somewhere.
  8. Snapsafe is very very nice. I was able to carry every piece down stairs into a basement by myself, but not all in one day. Beware though it arrives on a pallet and you aren't lifting that box it is huge and heavy. No way it can go into a front door. If you don't have a place for the delivery guy to put the pallet (a garage) for interim storage, then you need to open and move everything inside upon receipt, you will need some help unless you are really strong.
  9. For goodness sake as bad as you can make New Jersey look, it's still a fantastic place. You have to watch out about people who complain and moan and grumble about everything - they aren't doing themselves any favors. You find serial complainers everywhere, they complain and complain and if you listen long enough you start complaining too and before you know it you are miserable as well. You can be miserable in paradise and happy in awful circumstances. Work on your inner peace of mind! If you aren't happy and find yourself complaining all the time, then work on your happiness for a while. If you are miserable and always complaining you will never convince anyone of anything. Nobody takes advice from miserable people for the obvious reason that nobody wants to become miserable themselves! Why would anyone take advice from someone who is angry and unhappy, unless they themselves desire to be angry and unhappy as well? You can have logic on your side and it doesn't make any difference whatsoever. And on top of it you will not enjoy your life. Compared with just about everywhere else in the world, we have it made here. We have relatively stable government, safety, food, water, shelter, and opportunities that are the envy of the world. Things could be better but things could always be better. As you try to make things better, you can be miserable and upset, or you can be happy. It is up to you. If you want to make things better, then be happy and work constructively toward improvement and you will accomplish more, convince more people, and have a better life. Being angry, grumbling, complaining, and miserable is not constructive and if you are looking to convince others that your point of view is better, you never will if they look at you and see you as a miserable person. I have seen chronic complainers everywhere I have been in life and they never end up ahead with that attitude. It is unhealthy and counterproductive and it sets them back every step of the way. Once you achieve your own happiness, then you are in a position to enjoy life and be a good example to others when you seek to convince them that your point of view is the right one.
  10. I would dedicate some money to opening a range in the meadowlands. There is so much room there for a really nice facility for long range rifle and skeet. Whats with this NJ bashing? It isn't perfect but it still is a pretty nice place to live. A life of complaining and loathing is a miserable life. Lighten up! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  11. Easton Fish and Game has a .22 dedicated range with lots of targets to knock over
  12. That rusty double barrel looks like it might be a fun project to try evapo-rust on. Removet the stock, wrap it in toweling and moisten it with evapo-rust every day and see what it looks like with the rust gone. Put some boiled linseed oil on that stock, could look very nice! Could be you could get it re-blued after that and have a nice shooter.
  13. Bolt action .22 remingtons? Let's see some pictures!
  14. You can taste the difference, it really is worth it buying chicken or turkey from these guys.
  15. And also make sure you got the new trigger so the thing doesn't go off at the wrong time! From what I hear if you can afford it, it's easier to just buy a new aftermarket trigger than it is to send it back to Remington and wait to have them fix it, but it depends on whether your time or your money is more valuable to you.
  16. I say stick to your plan - new stock, bipod, better glass. Then see how it shoots and how you like it. Why start spending big bucks on barrels if you are satisfied with the accuracy as it is? Then look for a nice sling for it. Get rings that hold your preferred scope as low as possible. Relieve the stock and make sure the barrel free floats.... If the barrel is too thin, you could always try having it cut down to 18 inches or so, so it has less opportunity to whip around under recoil and a handier package. Shoot the damn thing too....
  17. You could bolt a small safe in the nighstand and then bolt the nightstand to the wall.
  18. Hoppes M-Pro 7 Copper Remover works good too, and doesn't smell. Uses a different chemical reaction than ammonia. I'd get both that and an ammonia type cleaner and use both. Apply, let it soak in 15 minutes, wipe out, repeat.....
  19. When manufacturers try to cut costs they tend to use drill bits and rifling cutters that are beyond where they should be replaced, and you end up with rough bores and chatter marks on the rifling. That results in more copper fouling than normal. I had a Marlin that was really bad (you could SEE the chatter marks in the rifling) and it scraped lots of copper off the bullets as they passed through. It still shot really accurate, it just looked bad. It's not a big deal. If you want to smooth things out, you can use some JB Bore Paste or just shoot it and clean it and repeat for decades, it will eventually smooth out through wear.
  20. Easton Fish and Game can't be beat in terms of price and convenience. It is a little bit longer drive, but worth it. https://www.efga.net/
  21. Who knows why? You could get searched for any number of reasons. Someone in a similar car might be wanted or a car like yours could be called in as a getaway vehicle. A cop might think you are poaching. You might get in a traffic accident. You might take a wrong exit and drive through Newark and be suspected of intending to buy drugs. People get searched all the time. The point is that as long as exemptions are the legal basis for possession, you cannot remain silent because you have to declare where you are going from/to in order to be legal. Kind of a unique circumstance - the magic words 'going to the range' if true suddenly makes a serious felony turn into perfectly legal activity. So if it appears you are gonna get searched then better to declare your legality up front instead of waiting till they are tagging and bagging your guns and all excited that they have a felony collar and reading you your rights. Right or wrong police dont need a warrant to search your car anymore and they could come up with any number of reasons to search. The important thing is to establish a good first impression with the police so they dont suspect you to be up to no good and then start fishing for an excuse to search and arrest. 22. If you have handgun or hollow point ammo onboard then you must not say anything that contradicts your exemption. Possession of those items without any explanation substantiating an exemption are felonies unless you are going to or from the range or some other exempted location. That means you may want to consider saying right off the bat you are going to such and such range. That establishes right off the bat the applicability of the exemption and the legality of your possession of these items. If you resort to your right to remain silent then by default a cop will have no reason to believe you are really going to the range and if you dont say it until after the search then the policeman might not believe you since you clammed up before. Something to think about. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  23. How much is the operation? How much you need? I bet there are a lot of gun people out there who like cats too (I do). Paypal makes it easy for people to help others who need a hand.
  24. Ask a dealer who does compliance work if he could put a non-pistol grip stock on it and reduce the magazine capacity to below the legal limit.
