  1. I went to Shooters for the first time last week to use the range and thought I would leave a positive review here. I went with a first timer and brought my SR9 and rented an SR22 for her to start off with. The gun and range section is great. They have a huge selection of firearms and accessories for sale and the staff was friendly and helpful. The best part was the attentive RO that was on duty while we were there. I believe his name was Jimmy. He was aware the whole time and very helpful with my guest who was shooting for the first time. He was a much better teacher than I am. My only experiences with ranges before were the 2 in Lakewood and this was a much better experience. If you have a chance it is worth a visit.
  2. Thanks for the link. Im guessing I would have to ship magazines to an FFL who would be willing to alter them, right?
  3. In the market for a mini 14. I have read that any non Ruger mags are a problem. I would like to get the 20 round ruger mags altered to 15 round. Any suggestions?

  5. Thank you to everyone for the advice and input.. I particularly like the hookers and blow idea.
  6. I am going to Montreal for the last week of August. Anyone been there? Advice, things to do, things to avoid? Any input would be appreciated.. Thanks.
  7. I just want to add Capri in Beachwood. I moved here 3 years ago and have spent far too much money here. Great pies and consistent. Nevere a bad pie.
  8. Didn't see this posted yet. Iraq and Afghanistan vet doing an Eagle Scout hike with his son detained and arrested while legally carrying.
  9. My first and only handgun is a Ruger SR9. I did a ton of research online and held a few guns before I decided. Before that I didn't know anything about handguns except for Glocks and I really didn't take to them once I held one. When I held the SR9 I knew I wanted it. I have had it a few years and it has been flawless. Not one bad round through it. Since then, I have come around to Glocks lately and will probably make a G23 my next purchase if I don't do an AR build first.
  10. I think the "problem" is the lack of any supervision at BA. While those evil features obviously pose no danger, the fact that people are using illegal firearms and full auto firearms on a range that has no RO's keeping things safe add up. There is definitely a sense of being "on your own" in that joint.
  11. I am outta here in 3-4 years. My wife has an employment contract that runs for 3 more years and that will be enough of New Jersey. The problem here is our only hope is it doesn't get terribly worse. There is absolutely no hope for improvement or a better life here
  12. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Duplicate FID / 3 P2P 2. Police Department where you applied. Beachwood 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Diane (Very pleasant and helpful. Could not have been better) 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 6 weeks. 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). Employer receives the same reference questionnare as my personal references. (bs) 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.).
  13. Thanks for the response... I was looking to pick up a couple 10 rd mags for my SR9. I already have 2-17's pinned to 15.
  14. I am currently in the process of waiting on a replacement FID card. In the meantime, I'm interested in purchasing a few extra magazines online. Do I need my card for this or am I good to go? I have never bought a magazine on it's own so I am not sure.
  15. If I wanted to demonstrate to someone the absurdity of N.J.'s gun laws and the bs we have to worry about, I would show them this thread.
  16. Just an update.. I dropped off my paperwork to the PD today. I spoke for a while with the woman who deals with permits, who has always been very pleasant and helpful, and she told me the wait would probably be just as long for the replacement card as it was for the initial. She said everything is taking a while and that they are inundated with new applicants. Over 60 new applications on her desk at the moment.. And i live in a small town.
  17. I lost my wallet recently with my FID inside. I will be dropping my paperwork off to the PD tomorrow for a new card. Should I expect a similar wait for the replacement that I did for my initial application (about 3 months) or does it usually move a little quicker? Or is everything completly backed up anyway right now with all that is going on? Thanks in advance for any answers.
