  1. Sorry to not get back sooner, been busy with a lot of stuff. I have been doing the online hunter course that was suggested (thanks) and its been an awesome help. Just to clarify some of the rifle regulations.. only muzzleloaders right?
  2. I'm looking into doing some deer hunting this season but am lacking guidance. Could anyone provide some information regarding state requirements with hunter education courses/licensing? I've been doing research online but finding it tough sifting through it all.
  3. I'm from the shore and I'd agree with savageshooter, Avon would be the place I'd go - the area right under Shark River Bridge and out on the jetty right near it. The beach there is nice and there are places to eat on the boardwalk.

    Rem 700 question

Hunting wise I'd be going out primarily for deer. I'm thinking something more like .243 or .270, does that sound about right? Again, I'm just jumping into all of this

    Rem 700 question

I am looking into getting into some long range shooting and purchasing a rifle to do so. I have really enjoyed firing Remington 700's the few times I have but don't know much about all the different versions of it. For my purposes I'd primarily just be taking it to the range, and maybe hunting a little bit as well. Could anyone with some knowledge of the differences in rifle versions shoot some recommendations my way? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

    First AR Purchase

Budget would be around $1000, give or take. I'd just be firing at a range. I've learned to handle a firearm fairly well from going to ranges with others, but I plan on taking a class to familiarize myself with my firearm.
  7. Looking to buy my first AR to take down to the range. Any suggestions as to which direction I should head? I have shot before but am fairly new to all this. Thanks
