  5. Here you go: http://readerange.org/ http://bville-rifle-pistol.org/ http://www.mifflincosportsmens.com/membership.htm All these places have a 1,000 Range. In addition , the Peacemaker Range in West Virginia has open steel shoots out to 1K Yards several times a year on Fridays and Saturdays. Check their Web Site for dates. if you live in NJ and want to shoot at 1K you need to travel!!
  6. Two questions and a suggestion. What kind of targets will you be shooting at? Steel or Paper? I shot the 2015 Mid Atlantic Long Range Championships (1,000 yards )with a Vortex Razor Gen II 3×18. The 10 Ring was 10". I would have prefered to have 27x but it was ok. Shooting IDPA steel at that distance 14x to 18X will fine. If you want a good scope with outstanding support get a Vortex Razor Gen II 8X27. You will love it. Suggestion: If you shoot at a 1k yards with a .308 make sure to get a 20MOA rizer for your scope.
  7. Meet me at SCFGPA one night. I am also a member.
  8. I just signed up for BHTC's DMR Course. If its anything like the last course that I took with them it will be worth while Anyone going ? http://www.bhtcorps.com/?page_id=31 "Most of the live fire target work will be guided exercises, but there will be a fair amount of practice time afforded to the students. The course must be taken with a semi-auto in any short action caliber (223, or a 308 bolt face caliber such as 260, 6.5, .243) but if you wish to bring a second rifle to shoot recreationally or get long range dope for, you are encouraged to do so. Even .50BMG is acceptable but must be fired from a designated spot."
  9. Did you include Donna Simon on that list? She lost her seat due to a low turn out in Legislative Dist 16.I have worked for her in the last two election cycles and she is very pro gun.

  11. If you are willing to travel , Delaware has a 600 and a 1,000 yard range. I shoot their 600 matches once a month and occasionally shoot 1,000 yard matches with them. Once again this year, Cabela's is sponsoring The Mid Atlantic Long Range Championships in Bridgeville , Del in late June. It will be 2.5 days of 1,000 yard shooting. From Somerset County it takes 4 hours to get there.
  12. The Match is full but several members of this Web Site will be attending. Please sound off. In addition , I have copied information listed on the Sniper's Hide Web Site concerning the May 14 Match. 16. Last year, BHTC ran this seminar once in February in Pa. Please contact Freddy Wissing directly at [email protected] to ask if he plans additional seminars this year.
  17. This thread probably belongs in the Training Techniques and Tools Section but since it is specific to Precision Rifle I will post it here. As a result of some cancellations we have additional spots open for the February 28th Precision Rifle Seminar and Fitment Clinic being held at the OBRPC Indoor Facility This was very well received last year, and is a good chance to lock down a solid understanding of all the different aspects of long range shooting as well as get your precision rifle fitted. The cost of the seminar is $150. Please contact Freddy Wissing at [email protected] to sign up for the seminar. You will need your rifle and a shooting mat. NO AMMO is required. Iggyort
  18. Guys I am the sponsor of the Black Hat event on Feb 28 at the OBRPC. I took this seminar last year and I found it extremely helpful when I took the shooting portion of the class with Freddy . Please make sure to introduce yourself to me. Iggyort P.S- I will have coffee and donuts in the morning and pizza and soda for lunch.
  19. I started with a Rem 700 SPS Varmint in .308 and shot a few matches with it. Now it has a new barrel , a new trigger , the action has been trued and it has a new stock. I would recommend the SPS in .308 as a starter Precision Rifle and as stated before the bolt face can accommodate 6.5 , .243 , .260 Rem.
