  2. Try the Savage Mark II TRR-SR. Competitors do quite well with them at our matches. http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/MARKIITRRSR
  3. PM me when you have enough bodies that require training.
  4. The National Shooting Sports Foundation ( NSSF ) has a Collegiate Shooting Sports Initiative. They would fund most of the cost for getting your Club/Team off the ground. I would highly recommend getting training for your future members in Gun Safety and to become Range Safety Officers. These two items would provide a certain amount of credibility for your organization among the Gun Community, NSSF and at Rutgers. The training that I mentioned, could be obtain for basically nothing for an organization such as yours. It has been done before. In addition, I would recommend that as many members as possible obtain a NJ Firearms Purchaser Card to facilitate the handling, travelling and storage of firearms in New Jersey. Using the Army training methodology : Crawl, walk and finally run, 1- Identify schools members interested in obtaining Gun Safety 2- Identify school members interested in starting a Shooting Club/Team 3- Approach the NSSF for funding 4-Approach a local Gun Club for the use of their facility and get a Club Mentor 4- Approach Rutgers and ask for official status as a Student Club, obtain a Faculty Mentor What do you think ?? www.nssf.org/CSSI/PDF/CSSI_brochure.pdf

  9. Yes . I will be using 175 Grain bullets, The 168 Grain bullets goes Transonic at about 700-750 yards and have an unpredictable trajectory after that. With a Remington SPS Varmint with a 1:12 twist the 175 Grain bullets will be stable enough to get out to 1K yards Plenty of good reading in a book called : Accuracy and Precision for Long Range Shooting by Bryan Litz http://www.amazon.com/Accuracy-Precision-Long-Range-Shooting/dp/B009G41VMM/ref=pd_sim_b_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=055R1VPF584MWM6TN37A
  10. The seminar in PA. last Sunday consisted of a 6 hour lecture on everything from ranging, ballistics , Bolt vs Semi , G1 vs G7 Bullet coefficients, proper hand placement and appropriate calibers for LR. I am probably omitting additional topics. At the end of the lecture everyone brought out their rifle so the scopes could be checked for proper eye relief and proper mounting. There was no live fire at the Modern Tactical Gun Shop. I am using a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308 with a handful of mods to get into the game. In addition , I have the identical gun with the same modifications in .223 that I use for "Dot Practice" at Old Bridge and compete with out to 300 yards. Once it gets a bit warmer, you guys are welcomed to try either rifle.
  11. Same with Badger Ordnance and Nightforce Rings
  12. The Black Hat Training Company had one in Lansdale PA last Sunday. They are having a LR beginners class on April 24 and 25. http://www.bhtcorps.com/wp/ PS- Did you get my PM ?
  13. I recently attended a LR shooting seminar in Pa. and the two instructors spoke about using the Mildot- Master during matches. I bought one on Amazon and cross referenced the info on Milldot-Master with my Balistic App. It works

The matches are pretty cool and extremely friendly to new competitors. See below. http://centraljerseyhighpower.com/hp_events/any_rifle.cfm
