  1. A co-worker of mine wants to sell me one of his shotguns. Is it a problem that he does not have any paper on it as it was given to him by a family friend. I would assume that we go to an FFL and do the transfer legal and all. Is there going to be an issue with him really not having any proof of ownership ? I'm pretty sure that it would be illegal for me to just buy it from him direct which is what he wants to do. It's definitely not stolen as this guy is an upstanding citizen. I have never purchased a firearm from another individual.
  2. A co-worker of mine wants to sell me his Ithaca SKB Model 800 O/U 12 gauge shotgun. From what I know, these guns were manufactured in Japan for Ithaca from the mid 60's to the mid 70's. I shot it at the range and smashed the clays nicely, A very nice looking firearm - seems to be in great shape with only a deep scratch on the stock. Not much info on the web on this O/U. I think I can get it for $500 which I think is a good deal. Anyone know anything about this Ithaca SKB ?
  3. hello- I'm bringing a guest to the range saturday who wants to try the 200/300 yard range - I never used this range before. What is the target situation and/or procedure? Thanks - want to make sure I am prepared.
  4. hey guys - I go to cherry ridge range with my 14 year old son to shoot quite a bit. On occasion, I'll bring along one of his friends as a guest. Can the friend bring his own firearm with him in my car (trunk) ? I would assume that since he is a minor that the firearm is registered to his dad. Something tells me that this is a NJ no-no. Just looking for confirmation. Its a 22LR if that means anything.
  5. Hey guys, My son and I use our Mossberg 500 (20 gauge) to shoot clays at cherry ridge. To make it more trap shooting friendly, I added one of the clip on fiber optic front sights and removed the middle of the barrel brass ball line up sight (point not aim). I don't want to leave an open threaded hole on top of the barrel vent ridge. does anyone know how I can go about getting the right small screw to plug the hole ? If I had the cheese, I would just go and get the browning citori XT trap but for now we have to make do with the mossy (we do love it). Thanks!
  6. No, not my business. I see what you mean - thanks for the advice, if I go home first, total drive time to the range is over 2 hours. yea sucks.
  7. Hello - I reveiwed the NRA writeup on NJ gun laws and am a little confused (surprise) about transport to the range. Basically, I'm looking to stop at the range (cherry ridge) after work once in a while to unwind. Due to geography (My daily commute is 1.5 hours each way), the only way for this to make any sense is to tranport my firearms (in my trunk) to work and stop on my way home at the range. The NRA writeup talks about the legality of transporting firearms between the home and your place of business. If I get stopped by a LEO in this scenario, am I screwed ?
  8. Thanks - the range requires bio clays and i found out I can purchase them there. Good luck
  9. thanks guys - i didnt think they had them at the range - I guess I would have found that out at the membership orientation.

    clay pigeons

Hey - My son and I are going to join cherry ridge range next month and are currently stocking up on supplies. I purchased a trap shooter but strangely enough, I cannot find anywhere that sells clay pigeons. because of the weight - this is a local purchase - to order on the internet - it cost about 7 to 10 bucks for 90 clays and $150 TO SHIP ! We live in Morris County in Budd Lake - Ramseys Outdoor in Ledgewood doesnt have them. Does anyone know where we can get clay targets ? THANKS
