  1. Can someone list the bills with the correct numbers? I heard some got combined. Even better if they are broken down by support/oppose. Thanks.
  2. Be sure and introduce all your points as, 'the next common sense rebuttal is...'
  3. Anyone think it's worth mentioning that if these bills were to pass they would certainly be challenged in court since many are blatantly unconstitutional, thereby costing the state significant sums of money on cases they will likely lose. Does the state not have more pressing needs? Have property taxes come down? Is unemployment lower? Is the state treasury flush with surplus cash? Etc.
  4. So, looks like it breaks down like this? I left off the two pending ones since they didn't come up on the NJ Legislature site. Support: A1613 [bramnick, Jon M./Johnson, Gordon M.], Ed. 5. Here's an idea-- tell me what you think. Since the NJ legislators want us to go through background checks, psych evaluations, etc. in order to purchase/own firearms, how about we do the same for them? In the spirit of the NJ2AS litigation fund, how about the NJ2AS put together a fund to hire a private investigator to look into the background of our worst anti-gun legislators (e.g. Oliver, Cryan, etc.). Perhaps there is something in their past or present that might make them unfit for office?? Or make them less likely to get re-elected? After all, these people are public employees, our employees, and we would be remiss in not checking them out. I would be more than happy to contribute to the cause.
  6. Argh, it didn't grab the part above about asking if the panel had any firearms experience.
  7. Regarding this, someone should say "Can you imagine the outrage if there was a panel on diversity made up of all white guys? This is unacceptable."

    Great video

Don't blame the poor guy. He needed his blanket and his mommy. I mean, come on, there was a *gun* in the room. Obviously anybody in possession of a gun is just one step away from opening fire on everybody.
  9. Couple of other ones: ---------------------------------- o More Useless Gun Laws o Your Job Choose Wisely ---------------------------------- and Why Punish the Law-Abiding??
  10. Some of these are good. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/01/photos-presidents-guns Notice the type our current leaders have. They are leading by example.
  11. Anybody see this? Anybody got a spare $17K laying around? http://www.dailymail...-mile-away.html
  12. One idea is taking the bus. There are bus stops at Hamilton Marketplace that will go to Trenton. Unfortunately, it takes about 40 or so minutes to go probably 5-10 miles. But you could park free at the Shop Rite and right across from them (in front of Chili's) is a bus stop. Might be a good place to rally. Not sure on the bus times and frequency. I did mention the rally to a friend at work and he wants to go so I'm planning on being there. Are people thinking of bringing signs, or is that too tacky? If so, here are some slogans I thought up: Base Laws on Facts, Not Emotion Stop Attacking the Good Guys Doesn't NJ Have Bigger Problems and my favorite: Thugs [heart symbol] Gun Control I can probably put together some scalable vector format files of these so they can be printed out at any size if anyone is interested.
  13. I am planning to order a Benelli SuperNova Tactical and wanted to get the ghost ring sights for it. I assume I can order it that way from the factory? And if so, does that mean it doesn't come with the standard bead sight or would they package it with those as well? Are the sights easily swapped? I've asked around and nobody seems to have it in stock, but one place I called said they could order it but don't know how long it's going to take to get it.

    9mm 1911

I was there two weeks ago. Earlier the owner had told me his distributor had 3 and he took them all.

    9mm 1911

Call Classic Pistol in PA. They had one in the display case last time I was there.
  16. Just so we know who we're dealing with here, in case you didn't see this: http://www.nraila.or...rs-of-maig.aspx Had to edit-- the last one is classic. And what irritates us to no end. Had to edit again-- this quote was just too good: Glenn Harlan Reynolds, the Beauchamp Brogan Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee College of Law, sums this up well when he recently noted, “A recent study found that mayors belonging to Bloomberg’s group have been arrested at a much higher rate than Tennessee handgun-carry permit holders, for crimes ranging from perjury and embezzlement to child sexual assault. But there’s no background check for politicians.” There probably isn’t time prior to Sunday’s big game to revamp the ad, but if MAIG and Bloomberg truly want to take a bite out of crime, perhaps they should first police themselves.
  17. Too bad the little emperor and his merry band of misfits don't have the courage to come out and say what they really mean. Mayors Against Illegal ALL Guns. I wonder if anyone proposed this for the name of the group, or if it would even compute for Bloomberg: Mayors Against Illegal Use of Guns.

    1911's In 9Mm?

Dan, Hopefully you're still watching this thread and are still looking for the Smith & Wesson Pro Series 1911 in 9mm. I got mine just a couple of weeks ago at Classic Pistol in PA (I had them transfer it to Shore Shot). Classic has one as a rental which I tried and loved. As someone said on this forum (lunker? pizza bob?) it's not the caliber it's the platform. True enough. I kind of like the idea that I bought mine on the 100th anniversary. And I also wanted to stick with the 9mm round. Anyway, the point of my post is I was talking to the owner of Classic Pistol today and he mentioned that a supplier had 3 of them available and he took them all. Not sure if he has them in stock yet, but if you are interested I would call them and reserve one (215-953-7264). My transaction was pretty painless. I paid for it over there and they shipped it 2-day and I picked it up at Shore Shot. You don't pay PA sales tax, just the shipping to NJ (which was roughly $28). Then just the transfer fee and NICS in NJ (which was roughly $53). Hope that helps. Let us know if you pick one up and how you like it. Just make sure you know how to disassemble/reassemble (if you don't already know). It's not like any other modern gun. Luckily I had some time at Shore Shot and the guy behind the counter gave me a quick demo, and warned me about the "idiot scratch".
  19. True. I was pretty amazed how quickly that seemed to change. Now I have more rights there than I do here.
  20. I'm with you j0n. I've more or less given up expecting the correct versions of those anymore, but the lose/loose thing drives me nuts. Do they not teach spelling and vocabulary in school anymore?
  21. It's going to take the Supreme Court to very explicitly and forcefully say that this violates the constitution and must change. Otherwise I think we're out of luck for a generation.
