  1. Damn, that is a serious list of, shall we say, eclectic cartridges.
  2. I have used them also and they work great. I stopped using plated heads, don't like the "soft centers", prefer the coated hard cast. Fast burning powders and coated heads leave you with an amazingly cleaner barrel and great ballistics.
  3. At a $100 to $125 a 100 clay round, that is just a little over the top IMHO. Not to mention their attire and shotshell regulations. Definitely priced to keep the average Joe out. Everybody appreciates a finely crafted firearm, but for me G&H is way above the common man's budget. No Thanks. For me, I have Beretta, Benelli, and Ruger to pick from when I go shooting clays. Somehow the Ruger RL is always the most comfortable.

    New pc carbine

Yes, and so am I when I can find it. Fits in a 10/22 takedown bag, awesome. Another use for Glock mags, too!
  5. Good deal. Your UPS guy may not like you as much. Check carefully, last time they shipped the Remington boxes sucked and had two repacks from UPS. Cabelas made good with no problems.

    Dogs

Unless these big,big dogs can be trained to shit in the toilet and flush, no thanks, 35-50 lbs. is enough for me. Took care of an Alaskan Malamute that was the meanest dog I ever dealt with, bite you as soon as look as you. And the cleanup was tremendous.
  7. For beginners in the Sporting Clays game. To minimize recoil you would want a 12 gauge, 2-3/4", 2-3/4 dram, 1-1/8 oz #7 1/2 shot. Muzzle velocity of 1145 FPS. #8 would work just as well on days with little or no wind. If you have a SA you may need a 3 dram load (1190FPS) to cycle the gun. Most ranges will not allow shot larger than 7-1/2. on the clays courses or faster than 1250-1300 FPS.
  8. You can easily survive running generators 10-12 hours a day. Freezers and frigs only need 4-6 hours, twice a day to survive. Heat depends on weather, this time about 12 hours a day. Always have 5 days on hand minimum. You need a backup plan for the genny also in case of failure. Spend the money for a good genny, you did for that AR and I bet the genny gets more use on average. I have done four or five houses on 3 gennys during Sandy. Takes a bit of work and thought, but can be done!.
  9. Hi guys, back on after a week without power. Town is a total disaster, 98% went without power, still have over 300 out with full restoration not expected for four more days (14th). No problems as we have genny and been self-sufficient prepared for years. This was the third time for a week or more. "Sandy" was 13 days. This time we had no services of any kind, electric, phone, or cable. Happy to say with over 2 dozen trees down, no damage to house, close, but no cigar. Just some damage to the chicken yard.
  10. Your free to buy where you want. However, I'd be thinking on expanding that list somewhat.
  11. Firearms manufacturers have shunned from submitting new firearms for approval to sell in CA. Mostly because the state law has really stupid caveats and the process is costly and even if approved nobody will by it because nobody can use it for it's intented purpose. Sort of a catch-22. MA also has a process that requires approval before sales. Don;t look back, you may be surprised in the future as well. as well.
  12. Dick's has not done well as a retailer for a while. Making the same stupid moves as Sport's Authority. They cannot compete in the clothing portion of sports activewear, so while I have not gone there since their last stupid move, and do not intent to, I wait their impending demise. It takes fortitude and commitment not to grab the dangling carrot when hungry. Some have proven that point. Others seem to be more restrained. Hopefully, they will be enlighten and seize the day. Don't hang your hat on Cabelas/Bass Pro either, the CEO is not 2A friendly, and has no problem taking our money. I have dreaded the merger from the beginning. Time will tell. Retailers are cowering as usual. Springtime is the start of a buying season second only to Christmas. Yes, bigger than hunting season. Nobody want to have protesters outside their store. If market share is lost by Bass Pro, look for Cabelas to be the first victim.
  13. While I have enjoyed reading the teachings of Ayob, Cooper, and Rodgers, Clint Smith's delivery also hits a home run.
  14. Do not stop shooting until the threat has been neutralized. Mom needed to follow this rule.
  15. Everglades Ammo and Brass Bombers sell 300WM once fired Milsurp brass. Lake City is mostly Federal Cartridge. Best I have heard is Norma and RWS, with RWS being the king. In fact, so tough most use special dies from Innovative Technologies (Larry Willis) to stretch reloads to double digits.
  16. See "guntapcom" on Fleabay. Great price w/ free ship. https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Pounds-Stainless-Steel-Tumbling-Media-Pins-5lb-047-x-255-Made-in-USA-/181754776749?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10 Other sizes available.
  17. Most all recent government takeovers were started by the military. Most LEOs have proven they just wanna go home ask NOLA how that went for them during Hurricane Katrina. And the National Guard is us!

    Oldie but Goodie

Very nice. I like. Colt the "Timex" of 1911s. I have come to believe the COLT 1911 is worth every penny spent on it. If NJ was not suck a PIA about handgun ownership I would probably be cash poor with a safe full of COLT 1911s.
  19. Another FL politician walking the thin line to keep his job. Has no morals, scruples, or backbone, catering to, the for the moment, a group of people believing whatever the mass media tells (lies to) them. This is not new technology people, semi-auto firearms are over 100 years old. Only now is it a problem, I think not. This will not stop at the "evil black rifle". Just the beginning. I could mention one other firearm right now most of us possess and it would have done more damage than any AR-15. Tell me what will they do when evil person armed with non SA weapons decides to repeat this horrible act using NY reloads. More laws that's about it. For the record, exactly what their beloved Australia did when it happened. This was a failure of three branches of government, not the use of a gun that has 100 year old technology. We will all suffer when the only line of first defense is a PD that is minutes away from a problem that ends in seconds. See what Ben Franklin had to save about giving up freedom for safety. You are neither free or safe. To the OP, you might as well give up what you own now. You have failed at Freedom 101 and have already determined your destiny is at the hands of the government. You fit right into Murphy's description of NJ, it has residents, not citizens. And if you want to know what they think about you I might suggest listening to George Carlin, the modern Will Rodgers.
  20. Already in place. Selling property, have to file estimated tax form with payment before new owner can have deed recorded. MIL just sold last of NJ property past year (Not NJ resident), not only got a 1099 from buyer's lawyer for 2017 income taxes, NJ sent estimated tax payment booklet for 2018,
  21. PA state ranges can attract an undesirable element at times. Look for gun club ranges all over the NE PA area. Have one just across the DWG area where membership is the same price (East Bangor Sportsman's Assn,). In fact they have quite a few NJ members. Most will ask for copy of your FID card as they require signed forms for background checks of PA applicants.
