  1. Try a 'Tang convertible next time. I get them when the price is right when I go to FL.
  2. I got screwed during Florio's ban years ago. Citizen one day felon the next. So certain items are permanent residents of a free state. Likely to get a few new cousins in the near future.
  3. Real NJ hunters left that site a while ago, went over to the other one, where freedom is alive and well. Only thing left at NJH are the wannabes and mods from the newspaper that own it controlling the agenda.
  4. Clays all day, multiple days. In fact just back from the Gunshine state and several days at different ranges. Quail Creek Plantation now added to the list with the OK Corral Gun Club. Still waiting for the Palm Beach County Shooting Sports Park to open, should be soon. Need to get a FL address. Need some more $78 R/T airline tix. Local club every Thursday Evening followed by burgers and brew at the firehouse social club. How long? Until the ammo runs out! Outdoor range at least the whole day, any week day.
  5. Get your application into your PD ASAP. They more than likely have a handout telling you what steps have to be completed and when. This part takes the longest and get it done before Murphy changes anything, At the same time you can go the training route as mentioned above, but I would consider taking the firearm portion of the Hunter's Ed course given free by the NJ Department of Fish Game and Wildlife. Check their website for dates and times. I am willing to bet the Hunter's Ed course will be a qualifier when Murphy changes gun ownership regulations, Maybe not, time will tell, but having completed the course and now offerings early in the year is not a bad option.
  6. Just remember in the nurse's eyes, NFB=YES. So a clever answer would be, "Who would want to own them?" Got to dump it back in their lap with a "sterile" ring to it. Question with a question, Then move on. Leave the box on the doctor's form empty, they never check the form when you hand it back, Oh, and consider a new doctor.
  7. To polish the bore use a brass brush with patches loaded with FLITZ. Will do a great job.
  8. He's been married for twenty happy years! The end of that run is just around the corner. "Hall sex" can't be far away. The next guy who tells me happy wife, happy life is gonna have to prove that they are not in a mason jar in the back of the fridge.
  9. Aluminum ladders suck. If the feet were in good shape and the rubber in place it should not have moved. Using cheap tools professionally to save money, dumb. Lucky SOB.
  10. Most White Flyers today are bios, so the cost is less. Only packaging is different. Pitch targets last longer but getting harder to find. Mostly seen only at trap events due to cost. Keeping out moisture is the key.
  11. A long time ago, in a place far, far, away. Drews Hobby store in Nutley. You could not add one item to sell in that store

    remakes

Magnum, PI and anything written by Stephen J Cannell ( A-Team ) which includes a lot of shows already mentioned.
  13. Yes, the bio clays will break down over time and get brittle. They should last for a year in unheated dry storage. Dampness does them in.
  14. I would buy a box of 555 to try first before buying a case. I did not have acceptable results from 555 in the SA rifles and a few of the pistols. More FTF and FTE than average. Relegated to lever and revolver fodder now.
  15. About .01 in size and 175 pellets. The higher the shot number the better for closer shots. Smaller shot does not carry as far.
  16. Ship it! do it all the time. However, be careful, no USPS, and Fedex and UPS have rules, but it can be done. Do it all the time. https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/special-care-shipments/firearms.page. Some special rules on ammo at bottom of page.
  17. I have loaded thousands of 38, 9, and 45 and never did any more than cull splits, badly dented, and resize the brass. All loads go through a case gauge, if they pass they are fired, if not they are examined and corrected. Reject rate is less than 1%.
  18. CMP store Port Clinton, OH 40 mile west of Toledo. Thurs-Sat 8:30-4. How could you pass it?
  19. Once the press is 'fine tuned', I will reload that caliber over the next several days as time will allow until out of supplies. That could go from a couple of hundred and up. Winter time is great for mass reloading projects just sit there and load away. Weekly range trips can see up to 300 rounds used. Brass is on a never ending rotation by caliber and power factor. Still reloading WCC Match brass from '88 for Bullseye. Light and middle of the road loads do not stress brass that hard. USPSA, IDPA, etc tend to wear out the brass faster giving about 5-10 reloads give or take. Now with coated hard cast bullets things go a lot smoother than the old plain hard cast lead days.
  20. Malusa has got it covered. Avoid push in connectors and doubling up wires under screw terminals. Wrap recepticle with 3 wraps electrical tape to stop possible shorts against terminals, wrap a piece of tape over wire nuts to keep in place as well. No need to tape exposed ground wire. On the old outlet make sure the copper "tab" is in place between the two screw heads (current can pass between them). This means circuit is passing through both outlets, if missing the top and bottom is wired from different power sources usually a switch. Brass is the hot lead black, silver the ground white on the screws.
  21. OP, told ya, Tanners has never failed to impress with their sales. My favorite OOS store. If I lived in PA I;d be packing and broke.
  22. Yes, NJ's "residents" will be so much safer now!
  23. You can go with a complete 22LR upper or a Bolt replacement kit. Be advised the twist rate on a 22LR is 16:1 while a AR is usually 1:9 or 1:7. This will have an issue with accuracy. CMMG has three or more flavors of kits, tactical Solutions used to have one. Some may not feature a Last Round Bolt Hold Open option. I have used a CMMG, TacSol, and have the Air Force version from the 80's I believe. All seem to work fairly well. The usual FTF and FTEs, nothing terible. I prefer to just shoot my 10/22s instead.
  24. Well what's ya waiting for? Hard to beat their special deals most days and the NICS is cheaper.
