  1. You were absolutely correct .... thanks for steering me to the Beretta 92 !! Now, gotta get one of those Uplula loaders.
  2. I'm from the north also....takes me about 1 hour to get there, but well worth it !
  3. We got there about 4:00 pm, had to wait a bit, on the range at about 4:45pm.
  4. My son and I took our new Beretta 92A1 to the range today to test it out. Visited Shore Shot in Lakewood, and the staff was very friendly, as usual. Its only the second time I've been there (the first was to try out some rental 9mm's), and the experience was extremely positive. VERY nice people work there, very courteous visitors also. Even met a fellow NJGF member and two of his friends. We will always go back to Shore Shot because we know its going to be great ! OK, Ok, how did the gun shoot? First of all, absolutely no problems to report at all. Sent 150 rounds down range, and the gun shot so well, it left us both amazed. Prior to today, our only experience with shooting a 9mm was when we rented the 5-6 guns about 1 month ago. Well, I can report that my new 92A1 shot a million times better than any of those range guns.....smoother, crisper, and with amazing accuracy! Everything worked so well, from loading the mags, firing the gun, both SA and DA. I used the loader that came with the Beretta, but I think I'm going to get the Uplula device to help me load the mags even easier. Heard too many good things about that little contraption for me not to get it. By the way, shot a box each of Fiocchi, Winchester White Box, and Mag Tech. Honestly couldn't tell the difference between the different manufacturers. Came home afterwards and cleaned the gun well, then oiled it. My son was such a big help and enjoyed the entire process. In summary, a great day with a GREAT gun, the Beretta 92A1.
  5. Thank you Tony, and thanks for the link for the spring. Since its only a couple of bucks, I'll be ordering. I've got to follow my 92A1 brother !
  6. I'll see how she shoot for a few hundred rounds, then decide on the new spring or not. I appreciate the advice, thanks....sounds like it improved your gun. By the way, do you have a link (or part number) as to where I can order such a spring?
  7. Good advice, thanks. Yes, my gun seems like it was shipped relatively dry.
  8. Will be taking my brand-new Beretta 92A1 to the range this weekend for the first time, and plan on going through approx. 200 rounds (4 boxes). Is there a "break-in" period with a gun, and if so approximately how many rounds would you consider the gun to then be broken-in? Will the gun feel looser in any way, and how would you exactly describe the "break-in" period?
  9. Sorry, have to differ with you. Bud's is NOT always cheaper. I just experienced this, and went with a local FFL instead, who was able to order my Beretta 92A1 significantly cheaper than Bud's, CTD, or any other dealer (internet or gun shop) out there.
  10. Also just purchased my first gun. After 2 months of research while waiting for my FID, it basically came down to the Beretta 92A1 or the Glock 17 G4. Shot both at the range and decided to go with the Beretta for the better (overall) reliability, safety features, and better looks. Very pleased with my decision! You have a great gun....good luck with it!
  11. Many Thanks Tony ! Appreciate it. Looking forward to bringing my new baby to the range next weekend (unfortunately, no time this weekend )
  12. I'll take some pictures and post as soon as I can.
  13. Beautiful gun Tony. Excellent results too....looks like its extrememly accurate.
  14. Why the wait? I ordered mine on Monday, it came in today, and I went and picked it up....very easy.
  15. Well, I pulled the trigger (pun intended) on a gun today..... a brandy-dandy new Beretta 92A1. Just picked her up today and couldn't be happier with my purchase. A BIG Thank-you to all of you for all your help in offering your words of wisdom on this forum to assist me in making my final decision !!
  16. Just ordered a Beretta 92A1, so obviously I agree
  17. Great choice ! Where did you buy from? Also, were you looking at any other guns, and if so, which models?
  18. Three-way tie so far: Beretta 92, Glock 19, and CZ75B --->> EACH HAS 13 VOTES !
  19. Just did a price request for the Glock 19, and they all came back and said the same thing.... "Not available". Is there a problem with this gun, or a problem with Glock not being able to make enough? Can't imagine what the problem could be in getting a Gen 4 version?? Anybody know what the issue is??
  20. Seems like from the voting that the Glock 19 is much preferred over the Glock 17. Reasons? Is it because its smaller and more carryable/concealable? Or are there any other differences / advantages ?
  21. I'm starting to get interested in the Glock 19. Continue to hear nothing but good things about it ! I'll go to a store and check out ASAP.....have to make sure it fits my hands. Will also want to shoot at a range after that. Any issues with the Gen 4 Glock 19 ??
  22. Yes, home defense would be on the "reasons for owning" list too....thanks, forgot that one. I might even look into IDPA or USPSA in the future, so good suggestions ! Glock 34 is a GREAT suggestion, thank you.
  23. Which 9mm RANGE Handgun $600 or less? (no conceal and no carry) Also, NEW...(not used). Currently leaning towards a Beretta 92A1, although I can be swayed. Primary use will be a range gun, and therefore accuracy is very important. Want to hear all your opinions and experience with the above, or if you have a better suggestion, please explain why? thanks!
  24. Tony- Very nice....the best of luck with your new S&W
