  1. I went with this safe http://www.amazon.com/Barska-AX11224-BARSKA-Biometric-Safe/dp/B002AQ0PFW I love it so far, plenty big for my needs and I have had no issues with the fingerprint scanner.
  2. Update: Just got a call my FID and permit is in! 33 days not too bad I guess. Jackson For anyone curious
  3. heard horror stories about Brick Armory, what would be the next option p.p
  4. Any ranges in central/east jersey that rent ak/ar variants? I'm near Jackson and I don't think shore shot rents rifles unless your a member.
  5. OMG EVIL BLACK RIFLE! 911!!! seriously though that is bad@ss. Love it
  6. Still waiting on permits. Due to cost of ammo I've eliminated the 45acp as an option. Just too much for the unemployed. I'm probably getting the xdm9 and will have to get the magazines pinned. Although the ruger 22/45 was Hellas fun and easy to shoot, I think for my first Pistol I'd prefer a 9 mm over the 22lr
  7. That's a very good point on cost. I still have time to decide. I may go with the 9mm I dunno. I have some range experience few times with my friends who shoot.
  8. Think I'm goin with the 45. Was originally gonna get the 9mm compact, but the 45 was too tempting. For ammo I was planning on getting Hornaday Critical Defense. Just don't wanna take a chance with hollow point legalities. Friend of mine who just graduated the academy(I know he isn't a lawyer) said that his class on NJ 2C said hollow points are Legal for range use, hunting, and having them in the home, but you can not use them for self defense in the home. Like I said, just don't wanna risk the legalities even tho I'm pretty sure they are fine for HD. Hornadays are pretty much legal hollow points with eggshells I've been told. Edit: Yes I'm planning on taking an NRA First Steps and Basic pistol class.
  9. Permit will be here soon, and making a list on things I will need to have to go with my XDm. Here's what I've got so far. If there's anything you think I'm missing or should change I'm all ears. 10. That's what I hear, but I've only shot 9mm at the range and wasn't sure If I could handle the recoil. I have meh upper body strength. Workin on it at the gym tho.
  11. Was thinking the compact because I plan on moving to PA by the end of the year, and I have a Florida and Utah CWP and would be able to get my PA LTCF and concealed carry. Off topic, I handed in my paperwork Friday to the Jackson PD, got fingerprinted today and gotta bring that to them tomorrow, do you think they'd let me change the quantity from 1 to 2 permits?
  12. My permit will be here soon and I will be making my first firearm purchase, and am debating on the Xdm 9 compact or Xdm 45. Leaning towards the 9mm because it would be my first, but the 45 is a big temptation. Any thoughts?
  13. Do you need to be fingerprinted each Time you apply for pistol permits?
  14. Even thought I have a clean record im starting to think of maybe hiring Jef Henniger (www.njgunpermitattorney.com) just to speed up the process so I'm not waiting 6 months 0.0. Anyone know his fee?
  15. Ok. Also for employer ai put Self-employed as I am out of work. Is that going to be a problem? Do I relief my address and phone number again?
