  1. A variety of things. Sometimes you need a change. I wanted a 5" gun and didn't like the M2.0 options. Got annoyed with the fact that I couldn't buy the parts I want when I want them because SW are idiots. Because the more I shoot the less specialness I want from my gun. Thanks, I've read it as well as other stuff. I'll probably mess with it until it is all jacked up and then back down. I need to learn its limits and it isn't a defensive gun for me so I can screw it up and spend $30 and start from scratch. I think I'm going to even order a second frame, for $75 who cares.
  2. Working on it, I only have like 500 rd through gun. I actually think it is mostly getting a proper grip under the timer, which then amplifies my issues. I'll sort it out. I can't shoot it as fast as my M&P yet either, but I had 125k rounds through that and a 2-3lb trigger so .. work in progress. Glocks notion of a competition trigger in a 34 is amusing. Dragging the moon on a cheese grater felt better.
  3. Yeah the weight, staginess, and overtravel are killing me at speed. Not an issue if I'm shooting for groups, but in a steel match for example I definitely seem to be hitting the left side of the plates a alot
  4. I will say that I kinda know how to press the trigger, and Glock triggers are hard for me to press well, I tend to move the gun to the left at speed.
  5. Your last option is reprofiling the ejector. On some CZs as the gun aged, it benefited from angling the ejector surface the other way or square. If you look at your 40 is looks more square as well. I would obtain a new sear cage first if I were you
  6. Every time you go from trying to align 3 things to trying to align 2 things you are going to have an easier time. There is a reason why in almost every shooting game red dot sights are classified in a different competitive division then iron sights, the posses a considerable advantage of irons. Of course, then you only compete against people with the same gear so the advantage goes away, but if your eye sight no longer really permits dealing with iron sights (or never has) the red dots are surely the way to go.

Dunno about M2.0's but the original version could be plugged with factory plugs, but the versions that came from the factory without a manual safety had NO space for the plugs, the frame was just not cut the same way. No idea what IDPA thinks about that. To my mind as long as the factory sends you the parts and you are only configuring it like a different valid sold config it shouldn't matter. You may want to get an opinion from the various rule making bodies.

    M&P for IDPA

When I asked this question of a USPSA GM a few years back his response was (and I paraphrase) "who wouldn't want a additional quarter inch longer penis"? His rather crude but profound response is still valid. It is racing, and in racing you take every advantage you can.

Personally, I don't know anyone who shoots worse with a longer sight radius, for the same reason people shoot rifles better. Go long, but my only concern is that the m2.0 5" guns have additional stupid on them like thumb safeties or the awkward and unnecessary loaded chamber indicator.
  11. HE, check the EFX stocks for A1 length
  12. I've run springs as light as 10lb on the CZ platform. It is a big heavy gun and it does not need to be heavily sprung. Of course, then you break slide stops, so in your case don't do that, but I would try 14 or maybe 13lb
  13. the CZ springs should work as the gun is likely to have the same dynamics. Try a 14lb or so, if I recall that is the factory weight spring for CZs
  14. 1) try new mags. If the lips are worn or jacked in some way, the bullets in the mag can hit the ejecting round and muck it up 2) replace the recoil spring with factory specs. you have no idea what the last dude put in there.
  15. Sure but now it is on the logs with numbers and all If they can run a nics, all the records show is a nics check was run, not what I bought from whom with what serial numbers, etc.
  16. This is probably to allow FFLs to do NICS checks for third parties, ie: you want to sell me a gun but you don't know me from Adam and you want make sure I'm not a murder enthusiast.
  17. I've been using Rudy's Project for 15+ years. They are expensive, and I never broke a pair, I've had two. I started with one that used inserts behind the lenses which makes sense if you plan to change your prescription a lot but they tended to fog more. Now I use a pair with the prescription in the shields themselves which is awesome because they do digitally mapped prescriptions and you have the same vision in all directions across curved lenses. They always run sales up to 50% which often include the prescription so keep an eye out for that.
  18. I agree that seems odd to me as well. It isn't as if the armorers are going to want to hump spare frames and slides to switch around, odds are you are going to get a compact for a full size and exchange it for another when needed. The darn chassis is not magical or expensive so might as well have a whole other gun around. From that point of you they could have stocked G19s and G17s (or M&Ps or whatever). I get the modularity on suppressor barrels, maybe, and MAYBE on caliber if they every choose to switch calibers without replacing the guns, but other wise I don't get it.
  19. For the same reason a lot of the military has been issuing G19s. Pistols are secondaries for most, they don't need to be full size guns and when humping galactic qualities of crap, smaller is better. Hell, I would ask why does the military need a full size gun?
  20. Accuracy matters, this was not an executive order, it is a Fish and Wildlife regulation.
  21. What? if you have a car made in 1995 for example under 8500lb you have to get it inspected.
  22. Most cars are NOT in the exception list and still need to be tested. Ignoring the pre-95 bit, all cars under 8500lb, which is most of them still need to be inspected. It is the bigger trucks that do not.
  23. Good, that means there will be lots of people driving up prices for the "army's gun" and not screwing up the prices for everyone else buying the rest of the guns on the market.
