Garfield PD didn't allow me to renew my permit 2 days prior to the expiration date and told me the chief won't renew permits if they haven't expired yet. So I'll find out Wednesday to see if it's renewed.

I'm in the same situation, my mom told me that only people with insecurities need guns . . . my dad is cool with it. My mom is very close minded and religious so I feel like I can never reason with her.

Hey guys, so today I recieved a call from Garfield PD letting me know that my FID is ready for pick up tomorrow. (sweet!) I did my fngerprints on February 20th, handed in my application the next day on the 21st. So it took me about 35 days/ 5 weeks.

Thats what the officer said but I overheard him and the secretary talking about their anit-gun views and when I asked him how can I check up on the status of the application he told me "I'll call you" also sounded a bit annoyed. He was also looking for any mistake on the application ready to reject them. Idk but I'm sure hes gonna takes his time with it which sucks. I"m not in any hurry to get my first gun and I don't expect to be the priority because I'm sure there are more important things but I do expect him to get it done in a reasonable amount of time. I'll start calling in April if I haven't heard from him yet.

I just recently applied this month at Garfield, NJ all I had to do was fill out the firearms licsence application, background check, mental check, 2 references and get fingerprinted. The officer said it may take a month or 2 maybe longer for him to call me to let me know if I got my licsence. So now I wait . . .

Hello NJGF I'm Alex I've registered back in 2011 and have been lurking since and I'm now posting. I just recently applied for my licsence this month and currently waiting for the PD to call me. Great forum here and just wanted to say hi.

back in 2011 i googled information on how to obtain a firearms liscence which led me here. I registered shortly after and now I'm finally posting. Hello NJGF! edit: The main reason I joined was because this forum has information for NJ gun owners which is great since I'm in NJ. =D
