  1. Im looking to burn a permit and am considering selling my full size m&p and buying a 9c. Besides the smaller size which is better for ccw (I plan on getting my out of state license eventually) another benefit of the 9c is the ability to use 12 round mags in it which is better than the 10 rounders I get stuck with since you can never find 15 round mags for the 9fs. Can anyone who has experience with the 9c give me any opinion on why I should or should not sell the FS in favor of the 9c?
  2. C'mon bro just jump in and buy a Noveske already.
  3. Holy crap dude, did you have to refinance your house to get that? lol jk, just out of curiosity because ill never have the funds to justify getting one how do you like the ACOG? Do you think its worth extra 4-500 over other optics like aimpoint or eotech?
  4. Ill let you know once everything gets here, and I know the spikes 14.5 is a great deal right now but my buddye just got that so I wanted to get something else lol.
  5. Yeah I bought my lower during the whole Obama scare just to have it. My intebtions were to shop around and get good deals over time BUT I have very little discipline and once I started buying things I couldnt stop myself lol.
  6. Yeah Vlad I really just wanted a lightweight build using some quality components. I guess that was a result of my lower being MAG tactical and the whole concept of MAG being that it was lightweight.
  7. Lies!! No actually I am impressed, that is a pretty awesome total price.
  8. Lol whichever youd like to share, and i dont think ill be building another for quite some time now.
  9. Lol, I refuse to tell the wife haha. Best part is that she really doesnt seem to want to know lol.
  10. Yeah your not kidding, I always keep telling myself that I cant afford a motorcycle cause its too expensive but when I look at how much I spend on this hobby I couldve paid off a Harley already .. smh.
  11. So after ordering all the parts (I still need mags), I decided to tally everything up and see what my total damage was. Here is what I dished out so far on my first build: Parts Costs MAG Tactical lower + NICS = $197.94 MAG Tactical LPK = $ 95.23 MAG Tactical Viper Muzzle Brake = $69.95 MAG Tactical hammer/trigger pin extras = $2.50 BCM lightweight 16” Mid Length upper = $459.00 Centurion Arms BCG = $159.00 Magpul MOE hand guard = $26.95 BCM Gunfighter Ambi Charging handle = $57.35 Daniel Defense A1.5 Fixed rear sight = $58.30 ACE ARFX-E Skeleton Stock Complete stock kit = $117.99 Parts Total = $1244.21 Shipping costs MAG Tactical order = $11.72 BCM order = $13.95 Exile Machine order = $8.99 Shipping Total = $34.66 Cost of having the Brake permanently welded to NJ compliance = $40.00 Total Costs = $1318.87 **I still need Magazines **Possible optic in the future Im curious just how big of a hole our hobby has burnt into each of our wallets so feel free to share your damage totals.
  12. Okay, so I couldn't contain myself and I went ahead and ordered everything else I needed. I purchased: Daniel Defense fixed rear sight ACE ARFX entry stock BCM Gunfighter Ambi so I am good to go and just need to get my muzzle pinned when it all comes in … I'm stoked!
  13. Thanks, just looking for the most affordable option for sights in order to get this thing running for now, ill upgrade things down the road.
  14. One more question about parts, if my upper comes with the standard A2 front sight will I be able to get away with just purchasing a flip up rear sight and using them together or will that screw up my sight picture? I guess what I am asking is, do I have to purchase a front a rear sight together or can I get away with just buying the rear sight and using it with the A2 front sight until I upgrade later on?
  15. Personally I think I am leaning towards the entry stock but I am a little bit apprehensive due to the the fact that I heard carbine buffers can be finicky. I figure the shouldering and length of a carbine stock will be fine since I am used to my 10/22 so the reach and sight fixture should be easy enough to adjust to.
  16. Sweet! Now I need to decide carbine vs standard. Ive read conflicting things about which one is best for the mid length gas system, any advice/experience?
  17. Oh cool! That makes life much easier.
  18. Wow, sorry guys I hate to revive this thread but I didn't want to seem like a douche and just ignore Alpo's offer. I actually decided not to use my second permit and to put the money towards my first AR build. Thanks for the offer though Alpo, and yeah I'm in Edison too so were basically neighbors.
  19. Thanks guys! RDS? Sorry I'm kind of learning as I go. The raptor does look pretty sweet actually looks like I'll have to look into that vs the gunfighter ambi, thanks for the heads up.
  20. So I don't have a ton of extra cash so unfortunately finishing my build is going to take longer than most people BUT I also decided to try and go for quality parts over inexpensive. Basically I want a lightweight mid length build that will be fun for the range and also reliable in the case of a zombie apocalypse(not serious). What I already had: -Mag Tactical Lower -Mag tactical LPK What I ordered today (3/26): -Mag tactical Viper 1 Muzzle brake -Additional Pins (they use longer pins in their lower so i figured extra parts is never a bad thing). -BCM Standard 16" Mid Length Lightweight Upper Receiver Group -Centurion Arms BCG -MOE handguard UPDATE!! I ordered these on 3/28 because well I have no self control -ACE ARFX entry stock -BCM gunfighter Ambi charging handle -D.D. fixed rear sight thats my first build …. might add an optic later on
  21. I guess thats true, I could always go over the blueing with a permanent marker if the color bothers me too much. I sure hope thats what you meant and that people arent just using the marker alone to resist corrosion.
  22. Looks like I found a good reason to break out the dremel.
