Notsobittybuddha replied to Old Glock guy's topic in Ranges & Gun Shops
I just want to throw this out there, It looks like they're starting to get the membership cards under control (new ones anyway). I joined in July and got my card 2 days ago. Granted, i could be a lucky one and the older ones are still FUBAR lol. -

It doesn't necessarily have to be made up. There's other variables they may not have factored in or the results prove a correlation which they didn't interpret correctly. As exacting as they can be, there's always room for error. Also, the argument can be made that those in "free" america don't have to go through the hoops we do which can certainly attribute to the findings. Sampling larger populations is always difficult because there's no telling how skewed the results may be, especially with a sample size of only 15,000 representing tens of millions. I dont think it's slanted, egregious or partisan, they just need to work on a larger sample or do specific case studies. -
Personally, i don't even bother with the built in uninstallers since they can leave artifacts behind. I stick to Revo Uninstaller (use the free version, it makes no discernible difference) which lets you get rid of everything fully. I'm not sure if it's going to fix an error though. It's possible that the file itself was somehow corrupted, so you could try repairing the game through the uninstaller and then actually uninstalling it.

On the topic of shooters, a controversial one has been announced, Blackwater, the game based on the mercenaries who were/are at the center of some pretty big controversies. http://kotaku.com/5810096/suprisingly-competent-blackwater-kinect-title-could-be-its-own-greatest-victim Thoughts?

I'm the same way, but the musings are that that probably won't happen. If they release certain in game items (skins, gear, guns) it'll probably be available as paid DLC, but not as a reduced price point service. Who knows though, its still a while before we'll see the final product which is looking at November or December.

Buddha was actually a nickname of mine in high school, so my friends got me this little "buddha in a box" kit as i used to collect them and it had an itty bitty buddha. Well, I'm not so itty bitty, lol, so it became notsobittybuddha.

I actually was just talking about this on a podcast im involved in (www.g33kwatch.com). COD: Elite is a paid service targeted at the hardcore COD players. It give you access to all the map packs (which you'll have anyway at this point), stat tracking and a form of social networking targeted solely at COD players. On top of that, they'll have monthly or even weekly tournaments. It's beneficial in the fact that the monthly fee, which is looking to be less than $8/month, is essentially a buy in cost for these tourneys. They're also touting crap stuff like avatar items and custom in game items. If you choose not to pay, then everything continues as normal, you get the same experience. BIA: FF is supposedly just a mini release and there's going to be another one soon after that goes back to a real Brothers in Arms game.

Questions, questions, questions!

I got this from an NRA/ILA compilation "Non-residentsIt is unlawful for any person to carry, possess or transport a handgun in or through the state unless he has a valid New York license. (A provision of federal law provides a defense to state or local laws which would prohibit the passage of persons with firearms in interstate travel if the person is traveling from any place where he may lawfully possess and transport a firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and transport such firearm and the firearm is unloaded and in the trunk. In vehicles without a trunk, the unloaded firearm shall be in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console). A member or coach of an accredited college or university target pistol team may transport a handgun into or through New York to participate in a collegiate, Olympic or target pistol shooting competition provided that the handgun is unloaded and carried in a locked carrying case and the ammunition is carried in a separate locked container. Non-resident target shooters may enter or pass through New York State with handguns for the purposes of any NRA approved competition or IHMSA sanctioned match, within 48 hours of the competition, if the competitor has in his possession a copy of the match program, proof of entry and a pistol license from his state of residence. The handgun must be unloaded and transported in a locked opaque container. This provision does not apply in NY cities not wholly contained within a single county or to people with felony convictions. Possession of firearms by a person who is a nonresident of this state is lawful while attending or traveling to or from an organized convention or exhibition approved by the NRA, and in which the nonresident is a registered participant within forty-eight hours of such event, provided that the nonresident has not been previously convicted of a felony and further provided that the firearms are transported unloaded in a locked opaque container together with a copy of the convention or exhibition program, convention or exhibition schedule or convention or exhibition registration card. This provision does not apply in NY cities not wholly contained within a single county." http://www.scribd.com/doc/13624979/New-York-State-Gun-Laws
