  1. New Years at Cherry Ridge sounds like a great idea. Let's ring in the New Year with a bang!
  2. I looked up my legislators' positions on gun control. Lautenberg, Menendez, and my rep. They are all anti-gun. An in Blue Jersey there's no way to vote them out. :thsmiley_deadhorse: I guess only hope is rest of country has some common sense...
  3. With pistol in jacket, wouldn't safety be engaged? If his personal pistol is a glock, wouldn't the safe action trigger prevent random side grabbings from firing the pistol once, or twice? I'm guessing maybe he forgot to engage safety.
  4. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/press-charges-against-david-gregory-possession-30-round-high-capacity-assault-rifle-magazine/gMNRPpPl
  5. Does anyone have information on Tavor MoA accuracy? FutureWeapons clip claims 300meters as maximum range to hit a head&shoulder silhouette. So that's about 6MoA? Great for CQB. But seems a terrible sacrifice if you want an all-purpose tool.
  6. IWI's factory in Harrisburg PA is not that far. I wonder if the Tavor will be Jersey-legal. I suppose question is what they do at the muzzle-end of the barrel. http://www.iwi.us/tavor.html
  7. IMHO, for next couple of weeks, an RO at the gate seems like a wise investment. The Anti-Gun rhetoric is at heights unseen for decades. Mainstream media, especially around NY metropolitan area, has abandoned all pretense of objectivity. I wouldn't put it past some of the reporters, in cahoots with liberal nuts, to try to sneak in, cause havoc, make a story.
  8. I imagine Mr. Anthony did not mean to imply that the entire Cherry Ridge (Club House + Pistol + 100yard + 200/300 + Shotgun + Sil) would have to be closed. Winslow hosted in March, April and June for 12-15people, and will host 2 more in September and November. Winslow has covered ranges for 25, 50, 100 and 300yards, and an uncovered 25meter in the back. Appleseed may use the uncovered or the 50yard. Calverton has also hosted multiple events, including one recently in July for 26 people and a Ladyseed in June and their own website now. At Calverton, Appleseed uses a sand pit in the back. I imagine Mr. Anthony meant to say ONE of the ranges would be reserved, which I imagine may be the same if one of his classes was hosting 12-26 people.
  9. If they need the entire Pistol or 100yard range, I agree. But if they need the entire Silhouette Range, doesn't seem so bad. There has been weekends I'm out on Silhouette for 8 hours and can count the number of people on 1 hand. But you probably know Chuck from Winslow down south. He is a better source than I to say if hosting Appleseed has been a positive or negative experience for the range. Hate for us to lose-out on a nice program on account of misunderstanding.
  10. You know, for Cherry Ridge I would love to see if we can get in Appleseed. I attended one at Winslow this year, loved the format, hated the drive. Maybe if the Appleseed specifies 22LR-only for the CR location, the event can take place on the rimfire range. We get hundreds of new members per month, and Appleseed seems like a great format to teach the fun and challenges of marksmanship.
  11. Well said Anthony. As an ANJRPC member, I agree with sentiment that the Board's strategic and tactical decisions meeting could have been communicated in a more timely manner, but that re-enforces, not opposes, the notion that ANJRPC has growing pains as a volunteer organization. If our expectation of the Club is professional-level services in communications, membership enrollment, legislative monitoring and judicial petitions, it would be oxymoronic to criticize creation of professional roles and insist these services be served by volunteer staff. As an ANJRPC member, I appreciate Matt's efforts to bring the matter to light. What I am not ready to do is criticize any of the board or Scott.
  12. My votes for improvements would be: 1) Indoor range for pistol and rimfire, or even just indoor shooting port like Franklin R&R. 2) Roof over rimfire 3) 500yards (is this too much to ask? )
  13. I got a talking to a few weeks ago on this subject. But they were very nice about it. And on reflection post-discussion I agreed with the range officer not just because it's the rules, but because it seems the right thing to do. I have personally had unfired cartridges in the chamber fail to extract or eject, and the safest and easiest way to clear it was to fire the round. In my case I noticed the unfired cartridges and cleared the chamber, but while sticking the flag down the magwell I can imagine the unfired cartridge going unnoticed. I get nervous enough standing at the end of a muzzle, I should not like to have an unfired round in the chamber, even if the bolt is retracted.
  14. Don't suppose anyone else have recommendations regarding gunsmiths bedding rimfire rifles?
  15. Thanks! I'll stop by next time I'm at the range.
  16. I am looking for a gunsmith to do pillar and glass bedding 22 rifles. Thinking about doing it locally if I can find someone recommended that I can drive the rifles to rather than ship them.
