  1. thanks, i didn't have it in my DVR yet!!!!!!!
  2. I too believe they may have an excellent, big and spacious facility based on what is stated on the site and my knowledge of the building, I just hope they have a good business plan... Their site does not engender much confidence and that is their only selling point at this point besides a couple of articles in the Hunterdon Democrat that appear to skew towards a LEO focus. Modern ranges like RTSP, Bullet Hole/Woodland and Heritage Guild set a reasonably high bar for customer focus, professionalism, etc. I regularly drive the 45 minutes to HG for the facility and staff and would easily do the same to RTSP or Woodland if it didn't exist. I live about 12 minutes away but proximity is only valuable if you find the place attractive to spend your money. I really hope that the site is just a jokey place holder and the real one is getting setup along with their marketing plan and branding, etc... If the Suks, monitor this site, they may want to that into consideration.
  3. SOUTHCOM was our most active region in the world until 9/11 for almost 30 years, a little excursion in 1991 notwithstanding. Drug wars, Castro, Noriega, Cocaine kingpins, Sandanistas, you need to read your history. Here is a little fact that most may blow your mind. In the early days of Afghanistan, a very large part of our special operators in theater were Hispanics, mostly drawn from experience in irregular warfare in South America, binligual and more attuned to learning new languages (Pashtun) and blessed with natural coloring and hair colors (and beards) to blend into the population......
  4. Vanguard, vanguard, vanguard. They are the best place to put retirement funds hands down. Low cost, good selection excellent customer service, very aprorpiate funds for the average retirement fund. Btw, they essentially invented target date retirement funds. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. I have owned a MK III for years and have to say it is not the easiest to take down for cleaning, but it is not too hard if you are patient and do it fairly regularly... They are not a simple guns though. I have never met someone that doesn't love shooting them though, they are a great newbie to intermediate shooter gun. I am thinking of doing some upgrades on the trigger but overall it is great! The 22/45 is just as hard to clean, but very nice setup overall.
  6. in my case distance. i am far enough north to make the drive more expensive than Hazmat fees and I don't have another reason to head towards Farmingdale.... In fact, I try to buy all my ammo/powder, etc. while driving for other tasks when possible. Sometimes that task is putting lead down-range of course :-) I have purchased at T&T as well. He has limited hours, but easy to get to if you are in Easton area. Friendly, had some good advice when I first started pistol reloading and a fair amount of inventory even when things were really tight.
  7. The crunch made reloaders out of a bunch of us! I only started in the past 2 years. Started with custom rifle ammo for an M1 Garand, but decided making my 9mm pills was a good alternative to hitting refresh on gunbot or cabelas.com
  8. there is no "shop" to buy targets you gotta bring your own, this is a DIY range. you can stop at Sarco in Easton on the way to buy your membership and shoot the same day (i didn't do that, but I understand other folks regularly do that.) they have targets too i believe. there are plywood or rubber target backs available to place targets upon, bring a stapler... sometimes they are pretty shot up, bring cardboard and or your own 1/8" plywood to mount upon. another good thing to bring is some heavy gauge wire for hanging your target backs at the pistol ranges as those seem to disappear on a regular basis. i don't know of day passes, but lots of us have guest passes and you could offer a day on this forum and someone may be able to bring you along. i have sporadic access to go to the range and could consider it if my availability works out.
  9. i hear bullet hole has it, never been there, also there is a place in Warren Township called Garden State Armory that I never get to when they are open though (mostly evenings) I also occasionally get stuff at Sarco in Easton or Heritage Guild in Easton. Best bet for me over the long term has been to stop by Cabelas whenever I drive on I-78 in PA or I-95 in DE.
  10. sounds like time to due a full tuneup, you are right. the brake cleaner is sitting on my workbench taunting me :-)
  11. I have put 5,000+ rounds through my Ruger MK III Hunter and the only ammo that ever gave it a problem was hollow points of any type, especially yellow jackets and HP mini-mags. It has always eaten just about anything else. it shoots most accurately with CCI Standard Velocity rounds (and < super-sonic rounds in general) I use copper "plated" (e.g., CCI mini-mags, AR tacticals), coated lead (e.g. M22, Norma, Wolf, etc.) and bare lead like Blazer and Wildcats with no problems. As mentioned above, I normally use a de-leading gun cleaner (currently Hoppes Elite, in the past Butch's Bore Shine and others) regularly and have never seen any significant lead buildup. I clean my MK III on average after 200-400 rounds (that is often one outing....) BTW, recently i have been getting more FTE and FTF issues with the gun (once or twice in a 100 rounds), even with "quality ammo", I think it is time to replace the firing pin and extractor as many folks find with the Rugers after a lot of rounds through it. One proof of the firing pin, is that I take the mis-fired rounds and put them in one of my .22LR rifles and they fire the first time.
  12. pretty unbelievable where the courts stand today.... and i thought there was a chance they were getting back to principles at one time. this does not bode well for 2A.
  13. Drove by the property two days ago and there is absolutely no sign of activity on the outside. I have no idea if they are doing work on the inside, but no evidence outside, in fact there is still a real estate sign by the street.....
  14. In all seriousness, start taking a probiotic like Culturelle or Align to get your good bacteria count back up. Lots of fresh uncooked vegetables too. My son had a serious pneumonia and about 5 antibiotics to cure it. It took a long time to reestablish good stuff in his gut. Like a year. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. And rum tasted better with black powder: https://sites.google.com/site/gunpowderrum/how-we-craft-our-rum/the-story-of-gunpowder-rum '
  16. the primary proponents of polygamy in a true sexual context are the same folks pushing gay marriage, spend some time on youtube or politicial sites like moveon and look for postings and videologs of transgender, polyamory and gay marriage proponents, it will hurt eyes and your mind, but it will quickly disabuse of the idea that they are not natural allies.... they are the same people because it is "weird, sick and self-destructive and mostly anti-Western transgression" Shows like "taboo" on TLC regularly run cases of this type of stuff. Sadly, the old circus sideshow titillation has become for a non-small part of our society, the goal. BTW, this gets far a field of gun rights, but the point to make here in this context is that the 2A is a fundamental tenant of the Western/Anglo-Saxon moral and cultural mindset and the attacks against the west come in many fronts and must be battled on all of them.
  17. I suggest you haven't been paying attention. Start looking around. There were two articles this week on marriage related struggles that address these issues directly on nationalreview.com. Secondly, I give you pop culture exhibit A: Shows like Sister Wives, that is standard battle-space preparation. finally, look into the de facto legal recognition of Islamic-based polygamy by American Civil Courts. It has already been happening for years, remember, chip, chip, chip, then the edifice falls. As Newtonian states in the next response. This is all a part of a much bigger plan that is very well on its path. Ask yourself a very simple question: Why do they go after fundamentalist Christians for beliefs that have no practical impact on the larger world, while excusing, encouraging and celebrating Islamic groups that spout retorhic that appears to be against the leftist agenda?
  18. my point here is grand gestures like the one in the SAPPA suit only work when all the other pieces are in place and even then, the actual toppling happens only when the last supporting structure is undermined... for gay marriage, this started with anti-discrimination cases, moved to contract law, then to the definition of marriage. BTW, most folks are now waking up to the fact that the backers have a legal strategy with a goal far past gay marriage towards a removal of the legal concept of marriage as we know it (and largely the nuclear family). that is not conspiracy talk, it is being freely discussed in legal and political circles today.
  19. what you forget is that the gay marriage proponents laid the legal groundwork starting back in the 1990s the quick rollover in the courts is just the final toppling of the dominoes. legal theorists left and right were talking about this as early as the Reagan administration!
  20. The legal world moves at a snail's pace, most folks here don't want to admit this. Look at how the "other side" has worked for years on things like gun control, gay marriage, disability rights, polygamy, animal rights. They work it one little step at a time and continue to chip away until the edifice falls. The correct view of the legal angle is glacial, not fun, won't help you buy a full-auto M14 next month, but it is the long game. Now, legislatively you can make more moves quickly, but that requires a whole different set of effort that the 2A community finds hard to implement in states like NJ..... All the NRA haters forget they are in for the long haul, but they also let other folks like SAF do the lifting in court (strategically a good idea if you think about it)
  21. The other possibility (based on the fact that the link really re-directs what may be an internal development copy) is that they accidentally got published before they were ready! That would be too bad, maybe they should play that up a bit.
  22. I read up a bit on the Suk's and I think you are right, they are trying to go for the tongue in cheek (Mr. Suk does appear to have a few bit parts on TV and seems to want to play that up.) I hope the rest of their range development plans are better executed than the web-site. I only live 10 minutes away and would really really like the opportunity to drain my wallet locally!
  23. Two possible ways to look at this, we are getting trolled ala Bloomberg or the owners let one of their kids do the website for their freshman html class. Yikes. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  24. That is my understanding as well, just a valid hunting license. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  25. i'm still mad at them about their bizarre handling of the ammo shortage. They kept backorders from me for over a year, then cancelled my order two days before they put out a sale of the same ammo on their site (9mm Blazer Brass) I used to put in an order every 6 mos. for a 1,000 rounds Mini-mags before early 2013, no more (even if it were available) Also, I always seem to find that most of the hunting/shooting related equipment is less than top quality. if it is real cheap compare the model vs. other sources and you'll find they are the seconds, old models or lowest end items. The only upside is they'll take back bad stuff pretty much no question asked. They are about the only place i keep sending stuff back to though. I always argue with my FIL about this, he is always getting a "deal" from SG but then complains about it all the time. I usually wait and buy the better item on sale at Cabelas or via Amazon and find it is good the first time. The exception is stuff that is not going to last a long time anyway like cheap ground blinds and the like.
