Listening now. Love the loud ass simulator in the background...

Nice gun. Have you taken the NRA basic rifle course? One of the things I remember were the breathing techniques and respiratory pause. Additionally a smooth trigger pull (not jerking the finger) helps with aiming as well.

I've built all four of my AR rifles and without fail every time I shoot a detent or a spring half way across the room, sage advice.

I've been doing it for about ten years now. Here's the deal, the Hudson Country region is so saturated with commuters that no matter where you are (even right outside the GW, Lincoln or Holland) you can expect a 30-60 minute commute. It's a shit show once in a while for commuters outside the county (I take the NJ transit 128/165/168 line). The NY taxes only cover up to 98% of NJ taxes and I wind up writing a small check to NJ once a year, no biggie though. The biggest gripes I have are the Port Authority waits to get on and get off a bus, that terminal needs to be demolished and rebuilt but the just nixed a plan to do so. In regards to doing it from PA, good luck.

What's Up with Peruta?

I don't believe so, I believe he would have vetoed the entire thing and sent it back. -
What's Up with Peruta?
fumanchu182 replied to Princetonian58's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Because the President would veto it instantly. It's a game of cat and mouse except when the mouse has veto power. In regards to the 9th and 7th vs the 2nd, 3rd and 4th circuits if the 9th reverses the decision then SCOTUS will be less inclined to hear any case. Given that we don't know who the ten judges and the chief justice will be in the review it's really a craps shoot at this point. It's 50/50. For those of us in the jurisdictions where the states don't recognize the right to carry it will ultimately mean you will have to move or become cattle. -
Shooting with astigmatism and prescription glasses.
fumanchu182 replied to fumanchu182's topic in General Discussion
Haha! Yeah the safety glasses I'm looking at are not for catching bullets with my face but to prevent the "oh shit" moments that would be prevented with normal safety glasses. I'm working with my doctor to get a RX to one of Rudy's authorized dealers to get them made, going to cost me a mint I am told. -

Awesome info guys, I'm going to do some research on these Rudy Project glasses and go from there, thanks! -
Shooting with astigmatism and prescription glasses.

I went to the eye doctor on Friday and found out I have astigmatism in both eyes, which would explain why on a red dot sight the dot would split into two dots one heading towards 2 o'clock and the other one heading to 8 o'clock. I brought up the discussion about getting eye wear that is a little bit more durable when I'm working on guns or going to the range. I expected him to be a doctor who was an anti but he blew my mind when he said he was looking to buy a Glock in .357, so the discussion continued but he said he didn't offer any frames or lenses that wold foot the bill but the poly carbonate lenses are shatter proof so I went with those and transition functionality as well (they are UV and anti-scratch as well). I was really pleased but now I'm in the hunt for eye glasses that a shooter could use at the range or during training. I've been googling around and seeing what my options are. What do you guys use and did your insurance cover any of it? I have a VSP plan through my corporation. -
ANJRPC/Nappen warning impending law changes
fumanchu182 replied to siderman's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
NJ has many problems. The ones that I see forcing me to leave the state are property taxes and cost of living. I refuse to buy a house in a state where I get nothing for my tax dollars and the cost of living just increases for no reason. It's overall a shitty state and there is nothing you can do with a vote to change Trenton or any other office held by a democrat who wants to turn us into serfs. -
I have no faith in the case doing anything for anyone else other than the plaintiff. The case is too narrowly defined for his needs. In regards to chipping away at NJ gun control polices, the vote is the only thing that will change this but that is also not realistic. It's not realistic because NJ is a welfare state, those in need will vote the way they need to vote to make sure they can get everything they want for free. If you want sensible gun rights, move (don't give me that bullshit that I have a family and it's not easy and blah blah blah, you have a choice: Gun rights:No gun rights, you only get to choose one). Otherwise N.J. is heading for more restrictive gun control policies once Christie is gone.

NRA video-72yr old NJ man+flintlock=FELON!
fumanchu182 replied to siderman's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
It's quite sad that this is the state we live in. A flintlock... Da fuq? There are people who abuse children who get only probation, where's the harsh sentencing in those cases? -
Good looking gun.

Mine was delivered, not that it mattered because NJSP will do whatever they want. -
Nice rifle man, I dig it a lot.

1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. This is the primary rule of gun safety. Never pointing a gun at yourself or others ensures that it will not cause harm if it goes off. When outdoors, point the gun toward the ground or towards the target. If you are indoors, be mindful that a bullet can penetrate ceilings, floors, walls, windows, and doors. Use common sense to dictate the safest direction. 2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. When holding a gun, rest your finger on the trigger guard or along the side of the gun. Do not touch the trigger until you are ready to fire. 3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. When you pick up a gun, immediately engage the safety device and remove the magazine before opening the action and checking the chamber(s). If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does. - See more at: http://go.nra.org/newswire/nras-three-rules-of-safe-gun-handling.aspx#sthash.MsPLusQJ.dpuf

I've been running these for a while now. Not one complaint with them at all. I did not buy mine from Steve but if he has them in stock snag em while you can!
