@falcone Be mindful of reasonable driving to Jacksonville. I don't think people realize the traffic that surrounds that city for commuters etc. I've owned homes on Amelia Island which is 27 miles from Jax airport. It ain't easy getting around if it's at commute time. Even navigating the loop I've sat for more than an hour around Orange Park.

State ID isn’t relevant. I have Florida ID but still domicile in NJ because of number of days in each state.

Because the magazine is in the grip it’s not regulated like an AR pistol is or any pistol where the mag attaches other than into the grip. I don’t how you’d thread the barrel one but it would be legal. NJ frequently blusters about banning .50 cal firearms and it is yet to pass. If it does you can lose it in a boating accident, store it or move out of state, sell it to someone in a freer state. I sold mine and miss it. Prob get another.

I’ve not been to Charleston. It looks very nice and always ranks among best places to live in news surveys.

Then the world is your oyster. Florida public schools have some slim pickins’ but there are some good spots, generally more suburban type living. There’s plenty of places from Callahan all across RT 10 going west where you can have tons of land. The further you are from a beach generally cheaper, but also more space.

NJ tax exemption is up to 100k. If you make 1 dollar over that you pay in the entire income amount. Some of the nicest places in FL pay pretty property taxes. My place on Amelia Island costs me about 18k in prop taxes, it’s a big house with good land but it’s still good dough. I don’t know what Marco Island is gonna cost me but I’m starting research as the project is beginning. .

Depends, do you need to send kids to school? If so Yulee is ok and you can find some spots with big acreage. You can also go further out to Callahan and get plenty of space. This will keep you close to Jax. There may be some spots west if Jax that I am not familiar with.

My wife never had issues pumping her own gas but now she drives a Taycan and it’s electric. Pretty convenient to just plug it when in the garage.

Ocala is mostly know for it’s traffic and proximity to Orlando. It is nice though.

Everything down there is tough. They’re building like crazy and using non-local crews can be a challenge. Good luck with the renovations. Maybe I’ll catch you over at the Snook.
