  1. That does not look right. Fit and finish should be smooth transition, imo.
  2. IMO it's practical. It will help build muscle memory and train properly for force-on-force scenarios... but I see that there's an obvious difference between the real deal and training.
  3. Always loved the 1911 and I'm finally the owner of a Sig 1911 Traditional Tacops! A little non-traditional with the external extractor... but lovely pieces nonetheless.
  4. Great guy to deal with. I was running a little late so I checked with him to see if he would hang around another half our and he took time out of his day to finish our deal. Don't hesitate to do business with him!
  5. You might want to give your topic title a change. Everyone's giving advice on alternatives to EOTech optics, exactly what your thread has been titled. You should change it to "Is Sightmark a good brand" if you're just going to go with that line of advice... From what I've heard, Sightmark optics do not retain zero, therefore you should move onto a reputable brand. Options to consider include Vortex, and Primary Arms, especially since it seems like you're not willing to go the price point of an EOTech or Aimpoint.
  6. So I kind of always liked the look of threaded barrels... My M&P45C wants a threaded barrel and I have only found made-to-order Storm Lake barrels in the 200+ range. Does anyone know a gunsmith who can thread and crown a full-size M&P45 barrel down for a M&P45C (and midsize as they're the same length barrel)? Threading is .578x28 from what I understand. Just curious... very curious if anyone knows a good spot for that in NJ or on the web.
  7. Great experience with TonyJ, a very nice seller to work with and great communication.
  8. Anyone have an extra? I'll go for one at $20, in Old Bridge if they snagged a spare.
  9. Alternative to new slide or milling your current slide...? http://strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/pistol-enhancements/glock/rear-sight-mount-for-glockr-pistol.html
  10. Been waiting forever for my Sig 1911 Traditional Tac Ops to come in.
  11. Bought some stuff from Turbotezza. The transaction was flawless. Deal with him with confidence!
  12. My permits were dated exactly 11 weeks and 1 day from when I submitted all the paperwork from Old Bridge Twp Police Records. Annoying, especially now with all the NICS craziness. Been waiting a few days for my NICS paperwork already
  13. Just put in for a NICS check today in Somerset so we'll see how long that takes...
  14. BravoCompanyUSA (BCM), RainierArms, RifleGear, or AIMsurplus has great options. I ended up with a RifleGear upper, but I was checking out all of the others. Lots of options and they can do the muzzle break pin/weld for you if you add the option to your cart.
  15. Can I get added as well? Thanks!
  16. Not sure if this would work, but maybe throw a pair of large O-rings right around your tube, spaced out a few millimeters from each end and slip the flashlight mount clamp on them? Absorb some of the vibration and add some more positive friction for the clamp?
  17. Thanks for the warm welcomes. I hope to see a few of you soon! I'll be at the new member day tomorrow.
  18. If you go for the GSG-1911, magazines are usually available from AimSurplus.com. Just added 2 from them today.
  19. I'll be there joining as well. Bring your checkbook!
  20. And just remember Range-14 is a public range but usage is $60 annual membership for all range facilities (paintball/airsoft, handgun range, rifle range, trap shooting), with $4 per range per person for each session. Overall it's a good deal if you're closeby with regards to private range membership dues. Also you have to bring your own targets or buy theirs. They aren't too expensive if I remember right.
  21. If you have more specific requirements, I think that would help us all in recommending anything for you. You just want a plinker, but you want one you can get dirty, muddy, wet and still able to fire? Overall, an AR with decent parts will be an all-around gun for your purposes because you build it for your purposes, it just depends on what you want for aesthetics (looks) and function. Rails? Monolithic Railed Uppers (rail and upper are one block of metal), No rails but polymer handguards? I'd take a look at www.bravocompanyusa.com, www.riflegear.com, www.rainierarms.com, or www.spikestactical.com first for inspiration. They have uppers you can have built out to NJ compliance, with additional fees for pinning the muzzle break/compensator and pinning the stock (some of them do it anyway). Then, contact a local FFL or shop from the NJGF vendors and most of them can spec one out with exactly what you want and get the work done and NJ compliant for you!
  22. I'm cool with being Glenn, even though I'm Chinese and not Korean like the actor Steven Yeun. Just no dangling my a** in a well, NO WAY I'm volunteering for that.
