NYCC is Oct 8-11 = tickets should be on sale in May'ish.  I also don't know if you were thinking of hitting up CigarFest - we're going Friday, May 1st (it's at split rock resort in PA).  Tickets were on sale over the weekend - not sure what's left.

Not gonna do cigar fest. Def want to to comicon this year though.  Are you going?

Sup bro?  Good to see you up again.

    Smoke any good cigars lately?

Nothing that sticks out to me honestly.  Been using the pipe though.    Hey when is NYC comicon this year?

Good to hear.  No more little ones here so hit me up when you have some free time and we'll  get together.

  3. I dont know anything about long range shooting. My friend is a new shooter who wants to buy a rifle and get into long range precision. I talked to him about costs and how difficult it is and he wants to get started.

He is eyeing a ruger precision rifle in 6.5. From what I understand it is a quality rifle and would serve well. Are there any other recommendations around the same price point he should know about?

  4. Last I heard things were about to heat up again after they rounded up a bunch of kids. Macron looks to be keeping his head down after doing a 180 on the gas tax.

There is a breaking point for each society. One would think the french would know this a little better than most.

  5. Toxic masculinity does not exist.  It is a manufactured social engineering tool, a huge stinking heap of faulty rationalizations, cobbled together by libtarded feminists with penis envy (which is a real thing).
Holding a door is not abusive, calling a female miss or ma'am is not abusive.  Feminists are trying to conflate the vestigial remains of chivalry with abuse.  How on God's green earth is standing when a woman comes to, or leaves a table abusive?
If ever there was actually such a thing as toxic masculinity, and the feministas wanted a legitimate target, they should go after rap music.  But they don't and will not because rap music, as truly misogynistic as it is, belongs to a culture represented by liberal democrats.
Hold a door, oppress a woman, sing about gang raping a woman, free speech.  That is the logic of the institutions that created the imaginary concept of toxic masculinity.
So, all this hooey about toxic masculinity is bullshit.  The concept was designed to attack the polite traditions of white men and do away with traditional values altogether.
Seriously though, what do you really think?

  6. Isn't the whole reason people "hate" on the serpa holster because you have to manipulate the locking device too close to the trigger guard?
I am curious why in that situation its bad, but here it's good? I think of the possibilities of a stressful situation and mitigating the actions of the firearm correctly preventing a AD. FYI I've never used a paddle mag release,.
Theres definitely more to hate on the serpa than the use of the finger. Overall they aren't very well made. Also for what it's worth, I used one early on when I first got my 1911 and never once had my trigger finger fall into the trigger guard while drawing.

The way I've used my M1 to drip the magazine is to have my index finger across the trigger guard and activate the lever with my middle finger. I dont have to move my grip with my bottom 2 fingers and I have never felt like I was in danger of accidentally activating the trigger with my finger. My pointer helps me index where my middle finger goes and helps block the trigger at the same time

  7. The grip to guard connection is a detriment to a good grip on the M2. That is why I have a Classic frame with a Q5 slide. Skip to 3:30 to see the difference.

I've been wanting to buy the 5" upper for my classic. When I was looking into it I was concerned there would be an issue with holsters. Do you know if the difference on frames affects holster selection?

  8. Paddle - BAD, Button - Good!
I want all my guns to operate the same, don't want oddball ones with paddles.  Also too easy to accidentally get your finger in the trigger guard if you miss the paddle. If paddles were the be all and end all Walther would not have switched the PPQ from paddle to button.

I dont think that last part is necessarily true. Walther and hk have had the paddle release for decades. I think it is closer to your first point, where people have mostly button releases and arent familiar with it. Walther recognized it and just put a button on it to be more widely accepted, not because it was not as good.

I think it's a matter of preference rather than a matter of what's more gooder.

  9. Try the Swamp Thang/Swamp Rat if you can.  The candela wrapper really smooths it out.
