  1. I agree, I will never shop there for that specific reason. I called them one time and argued with them about this. They told me I will be able to by ammo in their NJ store eventually, I told them not to hold their breath.
  2. I wish it was that easy to move to pa. The only way my wife would be willing to move is to cut down my commute.
  3. I work in paramus, but the property taxes are to high there. Moving to pa would obviously be the best choice but I would have a similar commute.
  4. Screw it, I was seriously considerring moving to ny to cut down my commute, but its not worth it. I guess I will stay in nj for now. Thank you all for the quick response.
  5. I still have a ferbi lying arooound somewhere and my son has an old school optimus prime.
  6. I read somewhere that you can register an "assault weapon" by april 2014
  7. I might have to move to ny because of my job, NOT NYC thank god. I know that cuomo just passed an awb but reading the new law it does not appear that the ny ban, aside from mag capacity, is more strict than nj. The question is, can I keep all my nj legal guns if I move to ny?
  8. but won't they just renew it like they did this year?
  9. Typical NJ crap, let's renew a law but not tell the public that it was renewed, it doesn't matter that the most current law on the NJSP website says that it expired in November 2012.
  10. I know there have been many discussions prior to Last November as to whether or not the NJ AWB will expire, and the general consenses was that it would be renewed. I just looked at the law and it still says "Chapter 54, Firearms and Weapons, expires on November 13, 2012.". What gives? Was it renewed or not?
  11. Just got this off the manalapan PD website THE NEXT TWO FIREARMS APPLICATION DATES WILL BE TUESDAY AUGUST 27 AND SEPTEMBER 11, 2013 BETWEEN 10AM AND 2PM. THE FIREARMS PERMIT SECTION WILL BE CLOSED AUGUST 29-SEPTEMBER 9, 2013. This is unacceptable, I just sent the mayor an email.
  12. So I should bed only the action? Should I go any distance forward of the action as well?
  13. It does come with an aluminum bedding block, but if you can see on the pictures there is a fine gap all around the action and a really large gap around the barrel.
  14. I just put a choate tactical stock on my savage 16 308 and am planning on bedding it the question is should I do full bedding or pillar bedding?
  15. looks like the 300 blackout is the way to go. Once the boss gives me the go ahead I will pull the trigger.
  16. That pisses me off, i'm at that mall atleast once a week. time to plaster the back of my car with pro gun and anti obama stickers. atleast that way the aholes looking at these pictures will have something to read.
  17. Is anyone familiar with sotaarms? They have a nice 300 blackout upper for $479.99. I just need to find out if they pin the muzzle break. This comes out $200 cheaper than building it myself.
  18. How about red loctite?
  19. Ok, it looks like I will be putting together a 300 blackout, once I get the boses permission. This will be my first upper build and I will need some advice. Here is a shopping list I put together from midwayusa.com. I already have a complete lower, a charging handle and a delta ring: AR-Stoner Enhanced Bolt Carrier Assembly Mil-Spec AR-15 223 Remington Nickel Boron Plated $199.99 DPMS Gas Block Single Picatinny Rail AR-15, LR-308 Standard Barrel .750" Inside Diameter Aluminum Matte $28.99 DPMS Handguard Cap AR-15 .750" Inside Diameter Round Black $3.49 AR-Stoner Barrel AR-15 300 AAC Blackout (7.62x35mm) Medium Contour 1 in 8" Twist 16" Stainless Steel $219.99 DPMS Forward Assist Assembly Round AR-15, LR-308 Matte $11.99 DPMS Ejection Port Cover Assembly AR-15 Matte $11.99 AR-Stoner Upper Receiver Stripped AR-15 A3 Flat-Top Matte $74.99 AR-Stoner Gas Tube Roll Pin AR-15 Stainless Package of 2 $1.99 Yankee Hill Machine Gas Tube Carbine AR-15, LR-308 Black Plated $15.99 DPMS Barrel Nut AR-15 Matte $7.49 Magpul Handguard MOE AR-15 Carbine Length Polymer Flat Dark Earth $28.45 Troy Industries Medieval Muzzle Brake 7.62mm AR-10, DPMS LR-308 5/8"-24 Thread Matte $41.99 Any suggestions on the shopping list would be greatly appreciate, can I get some of these parts cheaper elsewhere, should I look into other manufaturers, am I missing anything? Also, as far as pinning the muzzle break. How deep should I drill into the barrel? What size pin? Does the pin have to be welded or can it be appoxied?
  20. I am still leaning towards the beowulf, maybe it's the .50 coolness factor. AA has the upper for $690 and 335g fmj for$25 a box, which is the same price as AE 308 ammo, and they have it with an unthreaded barrel. One thing I worry about is the mags, I keep hearing that a 7 round beowulf mag can accept more than 15 rounds of .223 and that others have had problems because of this fact.
  21. Never pinned a muzzle break before, dont want to screw up the barrel
  22. Well the lower I already have, ready to go. I did do some searching online last night and could not find an unthreaded 300bo barrell.
  23. Let me get this straight, the 300 blackout uses the exact same upper, bcg and mags as the .223? Only a different barrel?
