  1. I can assure you the first opportunity he gets he will cancel all our Internet purchase tickets. That's been on the back burner since Sandy Hook.
  2. They are my primary source for new (non-reman) ammo. Almost always the best price, and free Fedex shipping means it shows up in north Jersey the day after it ships.
  3. The Governor was on Tucker Carlson Tonight if you care to watch a replay later. His 'refutation' of the order's intent was not that credible. At least to me. I'm not going to rehash it.
  4. Here's a direct quote from the Facebook page of U.S.V.I. Government house, emphasis mine: "Fellow Virgin Islanders - Please beware of the rumors and misperceptions that happen in an emergency situation. This and the VITEMA page are official sources of information regarding this storm. Please be advised that there is ABSOLUTELY NO effort to confiscate anyone's weapons. As a matter of law, when the National Guard is activated in an emgergency situation they are granted the power to seize weapons and other materials they deem necessary to carry out their mission. Such an order is executed EVERY TIME the V.I. National Guard is activated. Anyone that says otherwise is simply trying to create confusion during what is already a very stressful time for us all. Those with concerns about this provision of the VI Code should bring them to our law-making body following the storm." So, they empower their guard to do something illegal every single time. But trust them, they won't really do it.
  5. Here is the order issued by the Governor. And here is the U.S. law making that order illegal.
  6. And then we can speculate how many rounds you'll be permitted to put in those 10-round magazines.
  7. Because Bud's frequently sells firearms at a price lower than local dealers' cost.
  8. Well, today I unexpectedly fondled a VP9 SK. I may have to rethink my acquisition hiatus.
  9. I'm sure many of us are aware of the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act from 2005. That law was to preclude mass lawsuits trying to hold manufacturers and FFLs responsible for criminal acts committed with products made or sold by them, with the intention of bankrupting the industry. This article describes how the Brady Campaign mislead a couple whose daughter was killed in the Aurora theater shooting. They encouraged the couple to file a lawsuit knowing full well that the federal law should preclude success. The couple basically sold everything they had to file the suit and travel around the country touting gun control. I'm really surprised that the couple's lawyers didn't clue them in on this. Of course since they lost I assume they didn't get paid. And the couple had to pay the opponent's legal fees.
  10. If your wife is really only surfing, running a remote access app and not storing gigabytes of data (pictures?) on it, then: Minimum Core i3 processor (i5 is better) and 4GB memory (8GB if you can) and 120 GB or larger disk. A 120GB SSD is not that expensive, and as KS pointed out it is quicker and more reliable. Windows 10 only occupies about 20GB initially and needs about another 20 when it updates (like the Creators one they just forced out!). So 40 for the OS and 80 for your wife. All other factors are negligible. If you can't do an SSD and/or want more than 120GB storage make sure the disk is 7,200 RPM. Not 5,400. The disk is always the slowest component in the computer. I too have used Dell Refurbished machines with no issues and significant cost savings.
  11. Getting ready to buy my second Weber Spirit E-310. About $500 at Lowe's. The first one is still running, and I replaced the igniter after about 10 years. Still going strong. Clean it thoroughly once a year (grills and flavor bars when required) and it's good to go. The new one is for the new second house in PA. Hahahaha! Suck it Murphy!
  12. Yes they can. And obviously the Federal government can pick and choose which laws they will enforce. E.G. Marijuana, immigration laws.
  13. Let's give it to the same team that will be charged with getting all the transgender bathrooms set up and enforce compliance with same. I'm sure they won't take three months to get around to setting it up, or enforcing compliance.
  14. My condolences. We only have cats, but it hurts the same way when they leave.
  15. If anyone thinks this can't happen again they'd better take a hard look at Venezuela. Same play, different script. And they're not in the last act yet. It most certainly can.
  16. I think he means that when they ship your order, you get it overnight. They're in CT, ship Fedex, and I get orders from them the next day. Can't be more local than that, unless you walk in somewhere.

I actually thought of something like this, but I must have had a brain freeze because I never thought of putting it on a live webcam. Bravo!
  18. So now Amazon supposes that whatever Alexa overhears might be of interest to other companies. And notice that there are transcripts to allow access to. Let's all just hot-mic ourselves to the Internet 24x7 and save them the trouble.
  19. Me too! Since I only have two hands to hold them, any number of handguns over two amounts to a collection.
  20. I always check our propane grill before lighting it up. We've had at least three mouse nests in there over the last 10 years. Fortunately there were never any babies in it, so I could just clean it out and send the adults on their way. Full disclosure: if they get into my house or garage they're dead.
  21. If anyone is still interested in Geisselle triggers Brownell's has all their products 25% off with free shipping over $49. Check the prices here.
  22. Well, they weren't satisfied the first time around. So they came back to double dip. But someone slammed the cookie jar shut. Smokin'!!
  23. No. But here's the question. Is the issue date Day 0, or Day 1? Of 90. The conservative answer is 0. The daring answer is 1. The statute in this case is more ambiguous, unlike the statute for OGAM. Underline mine. "N.J.A.C. 13:54-1.7 (b) A permit to purchase a handgun shall be valid for a period of 90 days from the date of issuance and may be renewed by the issuing authority for good cause for an additional 90 days. In no event shall a permit to purchase a handgun be valid for more than 180 days from the date the permit was originally issued."
  24. Since Oreos were mentioned, any Oreo fans notice how the recipe and taste changed once they moved production from Hanover to Mexico? I did. It wasn't for the better. Now I scrape out the cream and throw it away. Why do I bother with them at all? They're just a small measured hit of chocolate when I want one.
