NJ Handgun Carry Permit Application Experience
M1152 replied to CJack's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I'm not sure why anyone would want to risk using a check when the instructions specify to use a Money Order. -
Self Defense and the Law Info Tech Tip --> Since most newer TVs have a USB port so you may be able to download the video with an FireFox extension in the mp4 format and place on thumb drive and view on your TV. I watched it last night. In any case TV or PC very good info

NJ LAWMAKERS ANNOUNCE PLANS TO DESTROY RIGHT TO CARRY

fast forward to the 0:43:25 mark https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/archived-media/2022/SBA-meeting-list/media-player?committee=SBA&agendaDate=2022-12-05-12:00:00&agendaType=M&av=V -
It sure seems like Mercer is trying to run out the clock. How many people posted here that had their permits approved from other counties that didn’t have the references contacted. I recall seeing a few. As posted above Burlington is running the same delay tactic and one reply on Reddit put it best, see below: I wonder how consistent Mercer is or was with this policy and were all the other permits that were approved by mercer held to this requirement? On Monday 12/05 I'll be looking at 144 days and no end in site. I was never good at predictions but if this don't get resolved by Dec 16th with the holidays rolling up and local gov vacation times I could see this easily dragging into January and maybe beyond

judging from some of the postings on Reddit he’s almost a regular there now. Did your friend tell you this? Another poster said Danielson AKA “a gun owner” (Danielson’s words not ours) had issues operating the slide lock. -
Was this your second call? After you posted the clerk's # (several post back) I tried a few days later and it just kept bouncing to voice mail. I’m looking at 140 days in total and probably 80 days (+ or -) at the county depending on the mail system. You know they didn’t accomplish anything last week expect maybe a couple of office parties

according to datauniverse he’s been in the state pension for 22 months and the wife has 41 months so not likely the payoff for this one unless it was if you don't do it we’ll replace you both, who knows -

Its not a bad idea to have an umbrella policy anyway if you live, drive and own a home in jersey. IIRC I had to up the coverage of my motorcycle insurance to qualify but didn’t need to adjust auto or home. Regardless of what the A-HOLES do in Trenton with the gun bills you should consider an Umbrella anyway -

I think we already established that and Gmail is my junk email account. I don’t think Gmail has any skin in the game on this issue yet. Anyway back on topic, keep sending those emails to Trenton for those who have not done so yet and always color within the lines -

That sucks, probably somethings built-in to their system that is triggered when sending to multiple addresses assuming its a spammer. ISP first level tech support reps are nothing more than script readers. If its anymore than reboot your router/modem they’re lost. Not that it matters but what is it failing with pop3, imap or webmail? I’m not a google fan but maybe setup a junk email account with gmail, ms outlook, AOL or other free account. -

sounds like quite an undertaking by the judge and a little over the top but at least you succeeded so good for you! -
this should be interesting: Oregon sheriffs won't enforce new gun law: ‘Infringes on Second Amendment’ 'There’s just no way possible for us to enforce that and nor would I simply because it's an infringement on our Second Amendment,' says sheriff https://www.foxnews.com/politics/oregon-sheriffs-enforce-new-gun-law-infringes-second-amendment

MONDAY: CARRY-KILLER BILL MOVING IN FULL ASSEMBLY Please Keep Contacting Lawmakers! November 17, 2022. On Monday, November 21, legislation killing right to carry (A4769) is scheduled to move in the full Assembly voting session that begins at 2:00 p.m. The legislation is a thinly-veiled attempt to blatantly circumvent the U.S. Supreme Court’s ground-breaking Bruen decision and to utterly destroy right to carry in the Garden State. https://www.anjrpc.org/page/URGENTCarryKillerBillMovingMonday -
Just for perceptive that’s 109 days or 3 months and 17 days. As of today I’m at 126 days or 4 months and 3 days.

that's great but do you know when his application was submitted or his total wait time?
-
Some overlap with different threads but I’ll put it this way. A few days ago someone posted in the other thread Mercer was on #42. Well I know someone that called last week and was told they were working on the low 40s. So at best what's that one a week? As far as Christie goes he's better than Murphy but looking back everything he did for NJ gun owners was performative. And why is his appointee dragging his feet is anyone’s guess.
