Biggest problem I see is that Biden will ban imports first because he could do that. Just about all the ammo I see on the shelf is from brands I never heard of coming from out of the country.

What gets me is that if primers is the problem. Why can't i find powder? Why has bullets used for reloading spiked as well? The bullets I use are not used for anything other then reloading. It all must be going somewhere, just not to the consumer level?

Kinda sounds like getting concert tickets, 50k tix go on sale at 9am, at 9am all sold out and then the sales start on the ticket brokers. at 5x the price.

Guess its no so much if it will be available, its what will the pricing be? Did much stocking up prior to the 2020 election and Covid, between the rebates and sales never paid more then 30 cent a round for brass cased, quite a bit at .24. Right now at the $1 plus, not interested.

About 3/4 of what I reload is polymer coated lead, pretty colored bullets tend to stand out. I also tend to follow rules. So I honor their policy by not using their range much. They have gone even crazier with their no reloads stance over the last year. There used to be just 1 large range rules sign, now there are little signs over pretty much everything. They have added several new lines to their ammo policy pretty much just repeating the same things. Stopped by the LGS today, Blazer Brass $35 a box and it was sold out. Getting tired of only using .22's at the range, no range here allows reloads and I'm not about to dip into my factory rounds at this time. The sheriffs range I normally go to has been shut down for 11 months now. The next free outdoor range I can go to is an hour or so away and you have to schedule the range time ahead, heard there is weeks backlog so haven't bothered. I guess its not as bad as a 5 month wait if you want to renew or get new your carry permit in person in my area of Fla, that's the wait just to get a appointment at the tax collectors office to do the application. Renewing online was about a < 14 day turnaround

Stopped by the LGS / Range the other day and there was actually a couple of dozen boxes of Blaser Brass on the shelf for $25 a box, not sure how that price is, don't have a .40.

I'd add a caliper to the list. And a notebook, makes it so much easier when you log the various bullet type / weight, powder used, charge weight, powder disk size, seating depth, etc... I only load for handguns. Been using the Lee 1000 for over 30 years, had a connecting link break after 20 something years, and Lee replaced with a newer version of the part for no charge. So that's one heck of a 2 year warrantee. Older part was a cast metal, newer was solid metal. I'd guess the newer version of the press would have many of the kinks corrected by now, I don't deprime on the press, spent primers had nowhere to go. I don't use the auto prime, it was never 100% reliable, too many wound up crushed in, or even backwards on occasion. I guess that's why they only specified CCI or Remington primers, less likely to go off on ya when something goes wrong. Some of the shell plate assemblies I have don't have the ability to detect if a case is in place and would feed a primer regardless and that was always a pain. Also stopped using the case feeder tubes, I just manually place each case, the nuts holding the case feeder on the press would always seem to loosen up causing problems with feeding. I also went with shell plate carrier assemblies and turrets with the dies installed for each caliber I load. Changing just a shell plate was a pain with having to always adjust the indexing. An no way was I going to use one turret with multiple dies, it takes too long to adjust all the dies each time.

Glad I scored a great deal on SP primers last year. Primers were on sale for 26, local reloading supplier gives a 5% discount if you pick up, they offer 1 day a week for a few hours for local pickup. other then that its mail order only. Plus Winchester had a 25% on primers rebate for another -50. Should have gone for 16 boxes for the rebate max of 100, but I always worry about rebates. So 8 boxes of 1000 for $150. Last I checked they showing for 35 but were out of stock, CCI was the same but at 40. What a difference an election year + Covid + peaceful protests makes. Went to the LGS/range, no 9's in sight, pretty much all the ammo and gun shelves were bare. Range was dead as well, guess the lack of ammo and high prices are keeping people away. They did have a nice looking Trump Thompson .45 that they just got in, but at $2400 guess it will hang around for a while. Not worth the $1000+ premium for the engraving, at least to me that is. Asked what 9's have been going for when they do get them in and they said 17-18 a box. Really can't stand that the place I regularly go to, the outdoor sheriffs range, has been closed to the public over 4 months now.

Been using ibejiheads for years, only 'complaint' is the lack of .44, think last time I got those from bayou bullets. One ibejiheads oddity is that ordering 2x 500 is cheaper then 1x 1000. Jacketed I usually get from Xtreme bullets, I just wait for a sale / free shipping combo and order bulk. Deals were much better prior to new ownership, but quality remains. This Covid has messed things up a bit, my local reloading supplier went mail order only a couple of years ago, but had one day a week for local pickup with a 5% discount for pickup. Worked out great for powder and primers where the hazardous shipping + regular shipping makes everything unaffordable. Just glad I majorly stocked up last November when prices were good and rebates plentiful. Gotta stop by the LGS/range to see if the have any 9's and what the going rate is. Don't need em, just curious because they sent an email saying they had some stock. In the recent past it's been OOS or limit of 1 box only with range time or firearm purchase. They do not gouge ( so far ), gotten UMC range ammo for 8.50 on sale there, but find it kinda weak, Typical prices are store prices, not NJ range prices.

A little late to be thinking of getting into reloading, powder and primers are as scare as unicorns. I don't see this correcting until Trump gets re elected. Don't even want to think about the alternative. I've cut back on range time, instead of throwing lead and copper it feels more like gold.

I am not a safe expert, nor am I going to recommend anything. Personally I would not consider anything sold by a big box store a safe. Everything I've seen is more of a storage locker. Look at the weight and how they get it ( good safes use steel and/or other metals, cheap ones use concrete and something like sheetrock for some fire protection), check if the door flexes, check the gaps from the door to the walls ( prying protection ), check the fire rating for time and temp. Does the safe have a fire seal? Something to protect the insides form smoke and water damage, fairly important. Are you bolting it to the floor? A must. Don't go by how thick a door or how big the bolts look. These are quite deceiving. Cheap safe, the door is pry able. A better safe is attacked through the side or back. The hinges on the door are not be part of the protection, if these were removed, is your safe still secured on that side?. Are the bolts all around the door? Corners? Compare to a 'real' safe. Think of the value of what you are storing in it, all ( most ) your eggs are going into this basket. Is it worth the 'savings'? No personal safe is impenetrable, or fire resistant forever. The better the safe the more time you buy.

I agree, can't find any nearby indoor range that allows reloads. That's why I go to the sherrifs range 2x a month. Reloads are fine there. One of the indoor ranges is steel targets, frangible ammo only. I'd reload that, but still no reloads allowed. If it wasn't so costly I guess I could have a berm built and shoot on the property, it regularly sounds like a war zone in my area. I tried bouncing the idea off the wife but it didn't stick.. And bad memory will cause random crashes. You can also check the Windows Reliability Monitor or Event Viewer ( System log ) to see what it shows.

Your first sentence sounds exactly like me. Just moved to FL ( Naples ) at the end of last year. PC just died. It was 10 yrs old and showing signs of the end. I too would shop in Micro Center, great for picking up parts. Their online is a different store that has next top nothing. Wound ordering all parts off Amazon. Problem with old PC's is that most parts can't be reused in a new system. Your older I7 system probably had DDR3 ram, current systems use DDR4. Older cases probably had USB2 front ports, newer MB's and cases have USB3 or 3.1. The older I7 most likely has a different pinout then current ones, along with requiring a different chipset on the MB to support it. I'd guess that you have already checked all fans on the , CPU, PSU, and possibly chipset. Your computer bios would most likely have a way to check all temps, fans and PSU voltages. you can check a PSU by removing the large connector from the MB, jumper the green wire to a black, it will power up the power supply, then you can measure the voltages on the pins with a meter. 3.3V wires are orange; +5V wires are red; -5V wires are white; +12V wires are yellow; -12V wires are blue; ground wires are black Best way I find to check RAM is to use Memtest86+, run it off a bootable USB. Use something like YUMI to make it easy. Lots of times on older PC's the battery dies and BIOS settings get messed up, especially with RAM settings. I find Dell PC's are fine if you never want to add or change anything in them, I use one just for browsing the internet. If you are getting a new MB, and will not overclock ( much ) any basic model will work, just get one with the sound and gig ethernet onboard.
