  1. If you live in NJ, its free. http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/division_consumers/finance/creditreport.htm Rotate through them every 4 months.
  2. Heh, been reloading for many years and never did a push test, guess I'll look into it. I only load pistols and primarily lead, crimp only enough to remove the bell. Couldn't imagine any of the loads being loose enough to push in further by hand. Always thought about getting a gauge, but never ran into any feeding issues. Pass the plunk test, rotate to make sure not gripping any rifling, good to go.
  3. I've had an 11-87 since they first came out. Never had a problem with it. Used in hunting in various weather conditions, and shooting clays at Black River WMA. Cleaned after every use, don't think I've every put more then 100 rounds through it in a session so I can't say how many rounds before it would become too dirty. Only replaced the O ring on it, not because it failed in any way, just because it started feeling hard and pitted. Pretty sure I used a Viton #21 as the replacement.
  4. Feel free to burn it as long as you are wrapped in it.
  5. Kinda waiting on the requirement for a NASCAR seat harness and helmet requirement, along with all vehicles to require smart car technology or be turned in for a fair ( scrap ) market value, and lets not forget the 10 gallon maximum tank requirement, because we all know how many lives this will save each year.
  6. The Russian ammo is dirty waxy stuff, but cleaning them up first did not work for me. The steel cases are quite soft, for me they tend to fail to feed properly, hit the ramp and bend. A few fail to eject, its kind of like the extractor hits the rim, bends it a bit then can't get underneath to grip it. I originally received a few bricks of these from an estate, and during .22 droughts used some, but always cursed myself out for doing so. It would be best for me to just give them away so I stop using them. I have handed out boxes of 50 to others, but no one ever wanted more.
  7. Here is an offer, anyone want to take some .22lr off my hands? I have 750 rounds of Russian Junior .22lr steel cased that I 'd give to anyone ( with a FID ) who would take it. My Ruger MKII hates these things Come to think of it I also have 2 Mec-Gar 10 round mags for the MKII I'd give away, finicky MKII hates these as well. I'm in Bergen County / Paramus, work in Florham Park.
  8. Tried that once on a transportation question, Response was they can not answer a legal question and referred me to the Attorney General, who promptly referred me back to the NJSP. talk about getting the runaround...
  9. For people thinking of Utah or Florida. Utah good for 5 years, Florida 7. Looking at the web sites its $49 for Utah and 112 for Florida for initial license. Florida accepts hunter education course, free in NJ. Passport style photo, you can DIY or have done fairly cheaply. Notary, most banks do for free with your account. Fingerprints, variable, my town charges $10. Renewals are $92 for out of state and you have to submit fingerprints, picture and get forms notarized again. Might want to consider a Florida vacation and schedule an application or renewal while out there. Utah requires a Utah certified instructor for the course, classes may cover notary, photo and fingerprinting. This will always cost something, prices vary greatly. Easiest / cheapest renewal process. Fill out all forms online, pay $15.75, submit digital photo. For Florida I used a NRA Basic Pistol course from years back. CT requires 8 hrs training so that is why I had that one, Florida will accept the NRA First Steps 4hr class, which is what GFH provides in their Florida CCW class.
  10. Florida seems to be around 90 days, Utah 45-60, by looking over the current discussions. Florida discussion http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/concealed-carry-issues-discussions/117960-florida-permit-turnaround-time-great-service-118.html Utah: http://www.utahconcealedcarry.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5497&start=810
  11. Don't recall ever having to wait at G&S, from what I recall its 7 ports in the basement, always managed to park on the street right near it. I have never heard of anyone having a problem going there. I always feel uneasy in the area, probably just me being overly cautions. As for GFH, the lines have caused me to turn around and leave pretty much 50% of the time. Now I pretty much only go there at opening time and wait for the doors to open. This should be corrected next year with the expansion. Probably even get a membership if it could speed up port access.
  12. Personally I do not feel safe in the area. Its an industrial area, scarce street parking during the week and on a weekend everyone knows why you are in the area, if they have bad intentions you are the one who is unarmed bearing gifts. Paterson is not known for their low crime rate. The no lead ammo is a big reason I do not go, I reload lead ( started using polymer coated but not sure how those are treated ) no steel, no aluminum cases is a contributing factor. Different prices based on if you bring your own ammo is a negative as well, again reloaders are penalized. Their $22.50 vs GFH $25, I'll travel the few extra miles. Not putting the place down, its the rules and location that keep me out. The feel of the place reminds me of Hudson county pistol range and Paterson rod and gun in Hawthorne, both long gone.
  13. A personal experience in Allamuchy shooting on private property years back. A neighbor who decided a few hours of shooting was too much called the police. A state trooper showed up, said the neighbor called in a noise complaint. He asked if we could stop shooting to appease the neighbor. The owner of the property asked if we were breaking any laws, the trooper said he had no idea, he was there for the noise complaint. We stated we would just continue doing what we were doing then. He stated he had to go to the neighbors house next and if we could wait until he left there before continuing. That is exactly what we did. He filled out his report, only noting the property owners name, went to the neighbors house and nothing more ever became of it. There was no interest shown in looking at any of our 'toys'. The property was our target range for the day.

    Florida Renewal

Last time I did it, I checked their schedule for when the next Florida or Utah class was and gave them a call. They had no problem accommodating me that day.
  15. Exactly, although I use the Howards outdoors, indoors I use foam plugs and over ear. You never know if the person next to you will have a cannon.
  16. Been using the Lee 1000 for about 30 years, I only load pistol calibers. At the time, probably still holds true, the price of the press fully set up for a single caliber ( they sell them this way ) was much cheaper then any other progressive press available. I gave up priming / depriming with it a long time ago, mainly due to the feeding issues, warning of only using CCI primers and the old shell plates will feed a primer without a case present I prime with a RCBS APS hand primer. Deprime with a Harvey Deprimer, mainly due to if you don't cut a hole in your bench the primers had no where to go, and I tumble the brass deprimed. Each caliber has its own shell plate carrier and turret setup, Makes swapping very fast and easy.
  17. They will probably just redirect you to http://www.bradycampaign.org like http://www.njgunforum.com/ used to. ( Yes, I have made that type before ) It no longer redirects because they never validated their email address on registration. You can use the Wayback Machine to see an example of it. http://web.archive.org/
  18. We already have Scott Garrett in there, he is Pro 2A and NRA A rated. I see no reason to vote against him. We need to get the Dems voted out state wide, only a Republican majority can fix this state, not voting out people already in office that are on our side. Cino should run in a district with an incumbent Democrat.
  19. Another good place is the Zeppelin Hall in Jersey City, One block from the Hudson-Bergen light rail stop (Jersey Ave) or four blocks from the Grove St. PATH station. http://www.zeppelinhall.com/
  20. Try a Browning Hi-Power, its an excellent single stack 9 ( 13+1 )
  21. Kasich just dropped out. All I can say is like it or not, not checking the box for the Republican choice for president is a vote for Hillary.
