Clinton WMA Rifle Range
Old_Hunter replied to AmericanGun1776's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Aren’t the guidelines spelled out here? https://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/ranges.htm -
RTSP is the only range that has published anything informative as to guidelines and Covid19 concerns for their patrons for tomorrow’s opening.

Questions about FFL's & buying from a website
Old_Hunter replied to Yash's topic in New Firearms Owners Corner
Just set aside some extra cash to make that rifle NJ-compliant by the receiving FFL before the transfer to you. -
Reloaderz was recognized by the NSSF this week with a 5-star range rating. Pretty impressive for the new kids on the block.

I believe at least one range in New Jersey bills itself as “family entertainment.”

ANJRPC Sues NJ Over FFL and NICS Closures

Looks like the ANJRPC won’t pursue the lawsuit to open ranges at this time. https://www.anjrpc.org/page/NJBigPicture2AUpdate -
ANJRPC Sues NJ Over FFL and NICS Closures

Murphy is talking “May 20th” to open the state back up He’s got support and FEMA resources to manage test centers until the end of May. I don’t see how you can maintain social distancing of 6’ at indoor ranges. New shooters getting instruction from 6’? RSO’s helping shooters from 6’? Staff at ranges that rent guns wiping rental guns down and disinfecting them for each new shooter. No one is prepared for that For members, maybe it can be done. It’s not happening for a while. -

For about the same price I’d pick this if a .308 is your thing https://www.armsunlimited.com/Remington-700-Police-308-Bolt-Action-Rifle-p/86672.htm -

“ the only organization asking the true journalistic questions the rest of the media will never touch.” I have to give kudos to Alex and NJ2AS. He has the brass ones to ask the tough questions. -

You can HEPA filter all you want. COVID-19 is droplet transmission spread. Unless you social distance humans, I don’t see how indoor ranges that get packed on weekends are going to open. -

Watching the President and staff right now present their modeling charts of potential deaths, with New York and New Jersey #1 and #2 with projected fatality numbers; I doubt they’ll be opening any ranges in New Jersey until May. Dry-fire in your basement may be your best bet for a while. -

Seems after so many days of compelling questions to the Governor, Alex wore out his welcome. This only reveals the darker side of things brewing within our State government. I’ll give him credit. -

Bill to ban Assault Weapons in Virginia advances in House
Old_Hunter replied to Sniper's topic in National Gun Law Discussion
Well, that uproar (rally) in Virginia may have been by a minority of the people. After all, it’s the Virginia voters who elected the Democrat/liberal politicians who passed this bill. Supposedly voter turnout was 47% in the last election, the highest it’s been in decades. Virginia is no longer a red/Republican/conservative state. Virginians have voted more and more Democrats into their higher offices (congressmen, senators, governors, attorneys general) over the past decade +. Virginia voters even overlooked the slime that trails behind that Clinton crony, Terry McAuliffe, and made him their Governor. – They say Virginia is increasingly populated by more and more liberal lobbyists, high-paid lawyers, and government employees; the VA counties that surround D.C. have become like the MD counties that surround D.C. – people working in well-paid govt. jobs, lobbyists, millionaire lawyers with govt. or lobbyist contracts, etc. And then there’s all the jobs associated with the military – no longer can people in the military be assumed to be all, or mostly, conservative-minded individuals. Bloomberg’s reach and money is scary. And to think this was pulled off in the NRA’s turf, where they were outspent in the last election -
The disassembly needed just to clean it should turn anyone off:

VCDL Lobby Day - 01/20/20 Richmond VA
Old_Hunter replied to DirtyDigz's topic in Legislative Alerts and Rallies
Be like those shrill Moms Demand Everything folks. Everywhere they’ve planted themselves, they have a foothold and gain ground thanks to their audience. Obviously whoever is behind them has something to offer. Look at Gov. Murphy. He aligned himself with Giffords, Everytown, Moms, etc. three years ago and hasn’t looked back. He has no fear of reprisal. What group in NJ has an open-door policy to state legislators so their voice can be heard to oppose them? What can they offer them? Nothing. And there’s not one who has this advantage -

The rally was a great show of unison. This article details what’s really important post-rally: https://www.google.com/amp/s/wtkr.com/2020/01/20/whats-next-for-virginia-gun-advocates-after-massive-rally/amp/ -
The Moms Demand Action crowd have been hosted at town council meetings throughout Bergen County for the last two years now, selling their spiel. They’ve one-upped 2A advocates early. In areas with zero gun culture, it’s gonna be a hard sell.

If it’s applicable; yes.

I heard Hillsdale Targeteers will be using the range in Woodland Park (Gun for Hire). That’s great news.
