We were with friends in Rockaway on Saturday night talking in the kitchen when the lights came on outside. A black bear came past the window and walked through the yard and into the neighbors yard. Never saw a bear that close and have to admit that it was a bit un-nerving to realize that the only thing between me and it was some glass and that the bear was basically three feet away from me on the other side.

I saw this movie and agree that it is a good one. I would recommend it.

We are starting a new garden this year. Raspberries and blackberries have been planted. We have some containers with basil, oregano, and rosemary. One container will have lettuce. I tried something that I read about. When we finish a head of lettuce and only the white "stump" was left, I put it in water. After a few weeks it started growing again. The kids thought it was cool and started putting more "stumps" in the container of different lettuces that we bought and now we have about eight different ones growing. I will take them out and plant them in one of the containers.

The photos are cool. I like the second one. Did you ever get photo of a bald eagle?

I shot an Pardner pump with a friend. We went through several box of ammo, different types. Bird shot, buck shot, and slugs. The gun worked great. One spent shell from the slugs did get stuck. IIRC he hit the buttstock againt the ground when he racked it and was able to free the spent shell. It worked fine before and after that one round. I agree. For the price it is a great gun. I think that most 870 parts will fit, but not the barrel.

I was thinking that using a 22lr or 22mag like the kel-tec would be the way to go. Also, why are they so determined to stay at the farm? Why can't they move to one that is no longer occupied?
