  1. I suggested my friend consult with his cousin who is a lawyer seems to be the best way to get advice. And I also encouraged him to try to contact the previous owners.
  2. He said he found it in the basement. Not sure if it was hidden or not.
  3. Alright, so should I suggest he call the police and ask? I'm assuming one way or another he will have to get rid of the rifle since he doesn't have an FID.
  4. Ahhh ok. So no registration needs to be submited to the state for long guns?
  5. Alright so we fill out a COE and thats it? Who do we submit the form to? EDIT: Yes thats what we are trying to figure out, can this be done legally period? Or does he have to turn in the rifle since he has no FID.
  6. Its pretty rusted and not in usable condition. But yes I will tell him that. And if they the previous owners abandoned it then what?
  7. Hi everyone, recently my friend moved into a new house (non FID holder) when he was cleaning out his basement he found a Remington 7600. I am an FID holder and would be interested in buying it off of him. Can this be done? What are the laws pertaining to this?
  8. I have an FID and a P2P, my brother is interested in coming with me to the store just to look around and see the process first hand. Is this allowed? Or does he have wait outside or something?
  9. Im thinking I will leave things blank and when I go to hand it in the I'll ask the detective in charge what to do.
  10. I am apply for 2 P2P's and am confused by the yellow form. Which areas do I fill out? I assume the SBI number is the number on my FID? Also in the first box, what is the requesting agency? Do I fill that out or leave it alone? Then we come to the middle of the form asking for the appropriate Statute rule or regulation executive order admin code legal ordiance or resolution? Do I fill this out if so what do I put? And at the bottom where it asks the name of the requesting agency to receive this information...So confusing.
  11. I finally received my FID last year and am looking to get a purchase permit for a handgun. Since I have the FID will it be faster issuing me the permit or will it take another 6 months to a year? Also do I need to give references again and if so can I use the same people I used before (my friends)? Also I am currently unemployed at the moment but should be back to work soon does this have an effect on my permit?
