  1. Why would it be denied, you can have two jobs, you would be listing self-employed as your most recent job. If your references come through all good, I highly doubt they would do any digging into past employers on old permits. *This is NOT legal advice, I am just formulating possible scenarios that might work.
  2. Ask whoever is in charge of fid and pps at your local cop shop what he suggests. That you feel that letting you employer know that, you being a gun enthuisast might bring a negative aspect upon you. There has to be a legal way around this. If that doesn't work become self-employed start selling crap on ebay, technically it wouldn't be a lie.
  3. The last time I got permits, I brought my application in with the employer blank. Detective said, "I need your employers info.", I told him I haven't been able to find work since I got home. And he just wrote in "Unemployed veteran" and it was no problem.
  4. Good point, didn't even make that connection myself. My thought is that he believes there will be warnings before it happens, and maybe that's why he loaded a bunch of bicycles onto his trailer. Incase his truck can't make it all the way. But IDK, if you can't fire a gun without blowing your thumb off, you're not prepped for doomsday.IMO
  5. Why did he have to comply with the gov't? It wasn't a presidential order, nor did it meet the criteria set forth by the U.S. Flag Code.
  6. 1000% agree. I'm Glad someone spoke out on this
  7. It's kind of sad, just thinking... if it weren't for the crappy gun laws, this really would be a great state to live in.
  8. 25/30, "How many Amendments have been proposed officially by Congress but never ratified"? I never learned that in hs or college American History class!
  9. I just filled out the form on the left: name, address, etc. And clicked sign. I don't believe I registered per se, but I did receive an email from change.org, talking about the pupose of their site.
  10. Well that's really hard to prepare for in the situation that there's a loaded gun pointed at you, your natural fight or flight response is going to kick in. In that split second you're going to either decide I can wrestle my gun back, it's time to surrender, or this guy wants to murder me do anything you have to do.
  11. In this free state scenario am I guarenteed a "good shot/kill" and not risking a murder/manslaughter charge? If not, going to sleep for a few minutes sounds a lot better then a lengthy prison sentence. I would never want to risk my freedom to a judge or jury saying that said situation could've been handled without deadly force. I don't really understand when you say, can be turned into their weapon. If I'm ccwing how is my attacker going to know I am carrying?
  12. This is just out of curiosity, I'm not looking to debate with you. But wouldn't your chokehold scenario be in the same catergory? Don't you learn some kind of ground fighting combatives in the academy? On how to counter a chokehold? Again, not looking to join the debate just my own idol curiosity.
  13. This sickens me. Really shows how much the government cares about it's veterans.
  14. Did anyone else catch when the NY fire fighter mentioned he wasn't allowed to own a gun, hence why he was learning knife fighting? This got me curious, from my little bit of research I found that it's difficult to own a handgun in NYC but not so hard for a long gun. Also if he had a felony conviction he wouldn't be allowed on the NYFD. Anyone have any thoughts on the this?? Also the woman in New England made me LOL she said, if the shtf we don't need firearms, we have a supportive community....?..... And then lil' Jeffey Dahmer said, "if intruders behave badly we don't need guns, I'll just poison them or slit their throats well they are sleeping." WEIRDO
  15. I'm in the same boat as you, active TS/SCI clearance. The fact that I need a bogus state background check irks me in an annoying way.
  16. True. But the way I see it, forget the missile silo. You're getting a great house, acres of land in a nice area, for a good price. So in say a "few years" if the SHTF, the only people who are going to really remember the missle silo house, are your neighbors. And if something major happen you are going to lock the front door, and seal the blast doors, and unless your neighbors have c4 to take down the door you should be good. To me it's not only a good doomsday shelter thingee, it's an all around nice piece of property. 17. Well I agree with you on the warmer climate, I'm trying to relocate to warmth myself. With all that land, you could probably set up targets on your runway and shoot rifles off the porch.
  18. Done....I think, I either voted to help German gun owners or bought stock in Volkswagen
  19. Added link. It's honestly amazing, It's in upstate NY, and I've seen more expensive houses in Bergen County. http://www.realtor.com/blogs/2011/11/29/nuclear-missile-silo-home-turned-luxury-listed/
