  1. How can they require you to do a change of address in a certain timeframe? If someone gave me crap, I would just say I didn;t change my address because I didn't intend to purchase any more but then later changed my mind. Some satements on this thread seem to indicate the belief that once you have a FID, you had beteer keep it up to date till death...
  2. You must be referring to the ship and not the document...
  3. Hey, it's NJ legal. I'll take a dozen before they are outlawed....
  4. Last time I purchased, the FFL told me to leave it off...
  5. Whew, that's a lot of work. I think it would just be easier to turn to a life of crime...
  6. Since we can't trust the State Police to give accurate advice (no argument here!) where can we turn? What happens if an inquiry gets sent to the attorney general's office? I would imagine that if I sent a questions, they would probably refer me to my attorney. But as far as I am concerned, the AG is my attorney. They are public servants, and we are all paying their salaries. Then I guess there is also the issue of not wating to ask because it will allow some ranting liberal pencil neck the opportunity to come up with the most asinine, restrictive regulation they can think up...
  7. That's a nice looking piece, glennp! I might have to put that on my list...
  8. If you have any hesitation about building, go to the Brownell's website and look around - you will find a bunch of videos about the AR15. They will help you learn all of the names of the different parts, how much work it takes to get them together (not too much) and what tools are handy to have.
  9. +1 for the above. BCM makes solid equipment. When they get a batch of uppers made, they can go out of stock very quickly. However, as noted elsewhere, if you want a Jersey Legal upper with a suppressor from them, you are limited to the 14.5 model, because that is the only one they will pin and weld in house. If you order a longer upper, make sure you can arrange for someone to mount a compensator for you.
  10. Since the law is unclear, I am going to use an unclear method to render my stock non-collapsable. First, I will use the mechanism described in this thread to disable the collapse mechanism. The law states I cannot have a stock which collapses. This modification creates a stock which does not collapse. (Or perhaps better said, the stock may still collapse, but only with greater effort than that required to apply a new stock.) Second, I will drill a tiny hole in one side of the stock (NOT into the buffer tube) and insert a chunk of roll pin that is machined to be around the same thickness as the stock. This modification will be cosmetic, but will help entertain those who care to look for it...
