actualy a shotgun is the best home defense weapon, buckshot or even birdshot will not penetrate the walls and kill your family member in the next room, plus close quarters you are guaranteed that u wont miss the pattern will get them, the mossberg is a no frills gun, the 500 combo was my first shotgun ever, its durable and accurate, i used it for many years for everything from clays to hunting birds and deer with it,,

thats an option too but i just tought it would be out of my price range to buy one,

as Im a newbie to the AR builds, looking for a .223/5.56NATO Im looking to spend in the $600-700 range for now, funds are low thats why i was trying to keep it basic and eventually add to it, right now only thing i know is i like the spikes, and biohazard and the zombie lowers, and for sights i was thinking iron flip sights for now then eventualy add a better sight this will be mainly a range plinking gun and then slowly upgrade the parts or eventualy build another one, not totaly wet in the gun world but most my experience has been redoing old shotguns and rifles this is the look im going for just looking for info on obtaining NJ legal parts, everywhere is look all i see is non jersey legal complete uppers and way too expensive uppers and lowers,,

thats just it, i dont know what i want, i mean i know how i want it to look, but i wouldnt know a good part from a crappy one, so what i would deem a good deal could really turn out to be a bad one,, guess its research time

Been out of the gun world last few years due to work and lack of extra income, but now things are normalized financialy (kind of) anyways always wanted an AR, but last i was checking few years back the prices were going sky high... have the prices settled, dropped, or gone up even more, this would be my first AR so im not sure what to get just something to shoot and eventualy like every thing else i get, upgrade

yeah my friend runs a charter boat, hes been catching them, he usualy runs open boat trips at about $125 per person, thats what i do rather be ina boat with 3 or 4 other people than a boat with 50 drunks tangling lines LOL ,,, if you want i can send you his info -
theyre plastic, i was thinking of measuring for 14 or 15 rounds, drilling a few holes and epoxing dowels across the holes or rivets if i dont break the things,, i'll have him try it on one, see if it works, if not i'll stick with the standar 10 round metal clips i have

anyone have any ideas on how to modify them

1/22 if you plan on making changes to the gun just because there are so many aftermarket parts for it, otherwise go remington, i have about 4 .22s and my fav is an old remington model 341-p gun is from the mid 30's but shoots like a dream
