  1. Thought about an otter but they need a pool or lake to swim in and I don't see any for sale. Wife really wants a pig but those things get huge!
  2. Just called a place for pricing on a coatimundis and kinkajous and their $2500!
  3. Sure as long as you come over to clean his excrement.
  4. Raccoon seems like a perfect fit. Now to find some and get permits
  5. Keystone exotics says this: If you are a New Jersey resident and you want to purchase an animal from Keystone Exotics, you first obtain a pet permit and an importation permit from the NJ Dept of Fish and Game. Before they'll issue you these two documents, you'll need a health certificate. I can get this from my vet. You can't bring any animal into your state without at least these three documents. How much is this gonna cost and how long does it take?
  6. Thats doesnt bother me at all. Also I live in an all farm area now and when we move were just gonna get an even bigger property so land will be no issue. Just seems like $500 plus is a lot for a coon right?
  7. And thats EXACTLY what I want! Any other places I can search for them? Are these raccoons domesticated? My family has tried to raise a few babies from the wild but only one didnt turn into a zombie, haha
  8. We both had rabbits our whole lives. Liked them but you need to keep the cage outdoors as it smells bad and Im looking at something a little "different"
  9. Mischievous is what we like. I think the possum and skunk would be cool but maybe a little boring for us. I think a raccon would be perfect. That one place had them for a good price but no longer sells them, just skunks. The other place is $500.
  10. How are possums and skunks for entertaining or cuddling?
  11. I like the naked rats but dont think that would be a cool birthday present.
  12. They seem very cool but are aggressive and cost a lot.
  13. That really sucks because they meet all my requisites. Want something not too small, not too normal, and playful. She wants a sloth too but I told her they were the most boring animal in the world.
  14. I just read that 70-90% of ferrets get cancer. Thats alarming.
  15. Thanx fishnut I appreciate it. Anywhere to look for ferrets? My experience with sugar gliders wasnt good. The 2 my friends have had were so mean they would growl at you if you tried to pet them.
  16. It would also have to be large enough not to loose when we take it on camping trips and to my cabin. Just walked outside to see the baby foxes playing. Actually got close to them. Would love to keep one or all of them but Im against taking wild animals out of their element.
  17. My buddy had a wallaby and it was really a cool pet but their big and you need to have a very large fenced in yard. Sugar gliders would be too small and they are mean. My family had a raccoon and possum as a pet and they were great but their hard to find. I trapped 3 raccoons from my work this year as they were gonna kill them but they were already too old to raise so I released them around my property where they could be free and roam. Wheres a good spot to look at "alternative" animals? Also I dont wanna spend too much on one thats why Im considering a ferret.
  18. Thats exactly what Im reading up on right now. My only issues with ferrets are: They stink, and they like to bite, at least thats what ive noticed by some of my friends that have had them. But they are very playful and we can brig them camping with us which is a big plus.
  19. Yes I will be getting pigmy or fainting goats soon but as I said Ill be moving in the next year so no farm animals til then. Also with goats you have to buy them in pairs.
  20. Im gonna build a coupe but we plan on moving so itll have to wait. Plus Im sure she would want something a little more playful and cuddly than a chicken. PLUS, we actually have a pack of foxes living under our shed right now. I honestly want to take the kits so bad but I know it not right. I have videos of them playing, its pretty awesome.
  21. My wifes birthday is coming up and the only thing I can come up with to get her is another pet. She LOVES animals of all kinds and we have a large dog and 2 turtles that are extremely spoiled. So I was thinking of getting an "alternative" animal. Not a dog, or cat, or gerbil. She wants a pig and a goat but Im not starting a damn farm here. I was thinking of a chinchilla or hedgehog because their cool and easy but she wants something playful and maybe take on walks. Thought of a ferret but they always stink. Looked at a small monkey even. Any suggestions?
  22. And Im with you with the diesels thing. Ive owned several and you cant beat the mileage, power, and longevity they have. My dd is a golf TDI that Ive sunk a lot of $ into and its very quick and gets 50 MPG! My current truck is a F350 powerstroke that I love also but honestly I never tow that much and Ive been seriously thinking of getting an ecoboost f150
  23. I have raced 2 srt GCs at the track. One was the first year and only had a tune and I ran a 13 flat. The newer one had a vortech and I was in the 10's. im not a mopar fan at all but those trucks are NASTY!!!
