  1. I have a Mark II which I think is easy. I know they added "features" to the Mark III that made it more difficult, magazine disconnect and loaded chamber indicator (which I never understood), that make it more difficult. The best way I learned was Youtube.
  2. Brass brush is to scrub a really dirty barrel that is fouled with copper. The black brush and the nylon should be the same and can be used for a normal cleaning, cloth is to be used to help get solvent all through the barrel.
  3. HAHAHA I think I will try this.
  4. So the wife and growing family has caused my wife to say, "No more guns. If you want a new one you have to sell one of your old ones." SO my question is this how do you decide what you want to sell? I really don't want to sell any of my guns but really have my eye on a ruger mark II or III. So how do you decide or do you just work lots of over time, buy a used gun and tell her you have had it for a long time.
  5. I would love to do KM but there is nothing close to me.
  6. hahahaha well I did it with my Savage in 300 WSM.
  7. Went to the range today with my hunting rifle, which I haven't shot in a few years. It just so happens to be a particularly hard kicking rifle and on my second shot, I scope cut myself. I have never done it before and hope I won't do it again but man it sucks. I feel like such an ass. Anyway anyone else here brave enough to admit doing the same?
  8. Yeah I want in too. I have hunted in the past but with only mild success
  9. ok I am staying away from ADT. I guess maybe a self install kit then look for monitoring is the besT??
  10. As the title states I am looking into getting an alarm for my home. Just wondering if anyone here is in the business and can point me in the right direction or if anyone here has an alarm that they would recommend. I am interested in one with monitoring by a company i.e. ADT.
  11. Central Jersey?? In Lakewood believe it or not there is A&M Archery. The guy there helped me pick a bow and knew my draw length just by looking at me. He has a range in the back of the store, which you get to use for free when you buy a bow. I had never shot a compound bow until I bought my first at his store(can't remember his name). He had me hitting the bull after my second shot at 15 yards. I highly recommend going there.
  12. You are allowed to own pepper spray as long as the container is less than 3/4 of an ounce. Small key ring sprays are completely LEGAL.
  13. oops next time I will look closer.
  14. I don't see any on here with a retention
  15. Couldn't find a better place to post than here. So here it goes I am looking for a beretta Nano holster but I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for. It has to have a retention so it can't be open top unless it has some other retention built in and I would prefer on the waist band for the time being. Anyone here that has a good holster please let me know, also would prefer leather but not a deal breaker.
  16. Well i am here in CA unarmed. So far so good but i should have just brought it.
  17. I haven't seen it listed yet but what about a Mazdaspeed 6?? turbo all wheel drive and are plenty fast.
  18. She said because I am from outside CA I am not considered a "peace officer" under CA penal code. Only if I was there on offical business. WHo else should I call?
  19. This is getting interesting, I called back and spoke to the same lady. I told her that the CA Office of the attourney general sites HR 218 on its website. So I asked her how can it not be adopted if it is mentioned on the web site. I was told I would get a call back.
  20. Heading out to California for a vacation with the family. So I decieded to call out there before I start toting my off duty weapon with me. As I understood HR218 states active law enforcement can carry all 50 states. Well I am glad I called. The lady who called me back from the attourney generals office stated, and I quote, "California has not adpoted HR218 yet so you will not be able to carry your weapon." Didn't think they could choose to not pay attention to a federal law but I guess so.
  21. I am very tough on knives that I use for work. I am a full time leo and I am looking for a cheap folding knife. I know when you say cheap you get cheap, but like I said I am rough on these things. I have spent over $100 for a nice gerber folder years ago and it broke pretty quick. I want a decent folder in the $50 range because they are used and abused and sometimes lost in when I use it double duty in the woods.
