  1. I prefer ROCKY. I only use them for play, not for work, but my last pair lasted 15 years, my current pair have about 10 years on them and still look great. I use them Hunting/camping all winter long and whenever I know I'll be in grass/mud/water.
  2. I took the course last year, but physically unable to this year. If you are on the fence, do it. You will not be disappointed. Chris is a great instructor and very personable.
  3. are you looking for a more traditional folder style or a "tactical" style folder?
  4. send MedicYeti (a member here) a message. He should be able to answer your questions.
  5. I am still looking for a German Shepherd too. I see the foster family has 5 dogs, how is he with him? I have a golden right now, so I just need to make sure they would get along.
  6. I was worried about losing some of the shape if I started messing around with heat. I was able to cut out a piece and sand it smooth with a dremel. I didn't post pics because I'm not really happy how it turned out, The notch is fine, but now the barrel sticks out the bottom a little. It would probably not be as noticeable on a black Kydex, but mine is tan.

    Help Me Spend My $

Walther PPQ 45cal.......since you're set up for 45 already.
  8. Don't think so since the trigger guard and mag release is different. I'm a little nervous about drilling it straight since I don't have a bench or vice, so I'm going try this tomorrow. If it works, I'll try to post pictures, if it doesn't work no pictures and I'll cry myself to sleep......with some a lot of Makers Mark!
  9. yes, I have an assortment of hand and power tools, but nothing larger, drill press, bandsaw, table saw.
  10. I Just wanted to make sure. I looked on youtube, but nothing I saw was specific, closest showed a notch being made with a bandsaw, but all I have is a dremel.
  11. I ordered and received a Kydex holster a few months back for my PPQ. I didn't pay enough attention at the time to the model I ordered, I just made sure it was for the M2. When it came in, it didn't fit. The holster has a "closed bottom" which would usually be no big deal, but I have a threaded barrel, and it won't fit. I was originally planning on switching it out with the company for a TB version, but they do not offer one as of yet. I didn't send it back for a refund since it was my mistake, I should have asked more questions. I have never dealt with kydex, can I just take a dremel to it and cut a piece out of the bottom to accommodate the barrel? Do I heat the bottom up and try to stretch out the bottom or am I outta luck? Thanks.
  12. what will this do to the market prices? will it bring the mainstream prices down a lot, or just a minimal amount?

  16. Absolute Auto Salvage in Middlesex (although I haven't been there in the last 3 years so not positive it's still a u-pull it) http://www.absolute.cc/index.php
  17. Ken, The others have given great advice, but what should ultimately be the decision maker is how do they feel in the hand? I wouldn't worry about picking a caliber, instead focus on what each one feels like, holding/shooting. RTSP has an extensive selection of firearms to rent, and I'm sure most people here would let you try a plethora of handguns.
  18. Wife and I voted. My parents and Niece also voted.

  23. Has anyone seen these under the $325ish range? I think Sportsman Guide had them under $270, but it was only for a few hours....must have been lowered in error.
