  1. I looked at telco too but the no guest policy was a deal breaker for me...
  2. It's worth taking a look at SJSC... their website has been under construction so if you want to check out some pictures and/or look at upcoming events take a look at their facebook page (you don't have to join facebook to see, fyi): https://www.facebook.com/pages/South-Jersey-Shooting-Club-Winslow-NJ/127614170587458 There is also a new shop on premise. I have not purchased anything there yet but it's really nice inside, they are very nice (no attitudes) and it's always good to know you can grab ammo, a drink, and a rest on a comfy couch in the air conditioning if needed: https://www.facebook.com/BangersSports Good luck...
  3. Welcome from another burlington county guy new to shooting... I joined up at SJSC a month ago and couldn't be happier... really nice folks, never crowded, and if you are into archery at all it's a nice perk... (full disclosure: i haven't been to many other ranges so who knows what i'm missing)... If you have any questions feel free to ask and I look forward to seeing you around...
  4. Thanks to all... picked up 2 boxes of 9mm and a box of .45ACP tonight on sale at dicks... now it's time to decide how to burn my other P2P...
  5. Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated...
  6. I'm far from reloading at this point in the game... I see dicks has UMC on sale so I'll pick up some of that... I just didn't want to add insult by offering dirty or cheap ammunition to run through their gun... thanks for the suggestions...
  7. Thanks, any suggestion on a generally excepted brand / type...
  8. I've got a quick new guy question for those of you who are more experienced with being at the range. I joined SJSC and everyone has been very nice, almost too nice... and that leads to my question... Right now I'm shooting all .22LR guns but I am actively shopping for a 9/45 pistol and eventually a bigger rifle. The last time I was at the range two gentleman were nice enough to let me shoot their Sigs and 1911s (Both in the running) without me even asking. However, knowing the price of ammo, 45 especially, would it be more appropriate to offer some cash for the ammo, keep some standard ammo in my ammo can and offer to shoot that, or do nothing because that is normal at the range... I have no problem carrying some 9mm and 45 ACP but I also don't what to shoot what I have, which they may not like, through someone's gun if they are picky about ammo, which I can also understand... Any input? Feel free to add your input to the poll... Thanks as always...
  9. It wasn't a specific post, just kind of compiled a list in my head... (Forgive the basics if you are an advanced shooter, i am not) Shooting Glasses Hearing Protection Targets : NJGF Targets Staple Gun (For Hanging Targets) A sharpie and a regular pen (For marking targets, etc) Multiple magazines for your guns (I only had 1 for each and immediately ordered 2 more for each when i got home, this is due to time between when you can reload and shoot again waiting for others to finish due to flag system with people shooting closer than 25yrd) FID (Don't leave home without it) Hat/Sunglasses Sandbag (If you want to shoot a rifle stationary, they have some but they are pretty beat up) I'll list any more i think of as the day continues...
  10. Hey all, Thanks for the many recommendations to join SJSC as a new guy to shooting in South Jersey. Everyone that worked at the club was very kind and the 45min orientation was actually very helpful. Once down at the range everyone was enjoyable to shoot with and a few individuals went out of their way to teach me about the guns I had purchased so far, showed me an array of other guns and let me try many of them, and contributed to a great day at the range that ended up being around 7 hours total... and that was just at the 25yrd range... It was also very helpful knowing what to bring to the range from the list I compiled based on forum posts here so you all had a hand in making the perfect first day... Thanks to all and I'm happy to call SJSC home...
  11. No worries, i had to have google help we so we were in the same boat...
