  1. 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Track V8. Looking to trade it in for an F150, Silverado or Tacoma.
  2. Damn sweet bike man. What model is that?
  3. It is virtually impossible to get a CCW in NJ. Most guys here have Utah or Florida ccws that allow them to carry in many other states. Just not in NJ.
  4. See I think the "shoots better" argument is subjective. Arguments can be made on barrel length and sight radius, but in the end - most people, with training, can learn to become proficient with a particular platform. The best piece of advice I was given on this matter - put out a call on here for anyone who'd be willing to meet you at a range that has both guns and try them out. *I would be more than happy to help* I did this and ended up liking both so much I ended up getting them about a year apart.
  5. I have both. The 26 is overall much easier to conceal in a variety of clothing/weather conditions. I'd carry the 26 with a 19 mag as backup.
  6. *Defense *Having tangible pieces of history and the stories they represent. *learning the mechanical intricacies that make firearms work *great investments
  7. While I agree that doing things for yourself has gone by the way side for many in this country.. I think the change has been more mental. Men years ago had honor. They would stop and help a woman who broke down on the side of the road. They'd help their neighbor when a tree fell on their lot. They'd hold a door for a woman or give up their seat for an elderly person. Now I feel like most "men" simply don't give a crap or couldn't be bothered to open their eyes. Men took care of their own. They didn't wait around for the government to do it.
  8. What would be the first thing you'd replace on a bone stock blued / wood stock 10/22 carbine?
  9. I think you have me considering a 40 as well. I have two 9mm Glocks. Need to diversify.
  10. Maks I believe it comes from using the polishing pad on something like a Drexel to shine up the connect rod on trigger assembly.... 25cent portion alludes to the cheap Ness of it.
  11. I'd be in for half dozen or so. Looking for a G34 to play big brother to my G19 and G26
  12. Welcome! From me and my family, I want to thank you for your service. Godspeed, fair winds & following seas.
  13. I will definitely be seeing this movie.

    Tavor first shoot

    Drool... Where'd ya get it?
  15. Chalking this up to Gun shop talk, but I heard no. You cannot start new nics until 31st day after you took delivery of previous pistol. Again, it was just gun shop talk, so who knows... I'd say call NJSP Firearms Unit.
  16. So when they send it back... If serial # is the same... Does it to go FFL? Sorry, just never thought about this and haven't seen much in the way of information.
  17. I'll preface this post by saying I did do a quick search (using Tapatalk) and found nothing on this topic. How are gun repairs handled in New Jersey? If I were to say, send in my handgun for repairs - how would I go about doing that given NJ's laws. Question two - if the company were to replace my gun, due to my original being unrepairable, how would that be handled? Would I need another PPP? Seems bogus that a simple repair job could turn into a 2-4 month wait for it back if you needed to apply for a permit. Just hoping to get some info..
  18. Ruger makes a nice 1911 from what I hear, but they are hard to come by.
  19. Are the RIA's generally mil spec as far as parts? All I'd really want to switch if anything would be (controls and grips) I think I'm leaning toward an RIA or Remington and adding what I like.
  20. Maks - 45ACP is the caliber I'm looking at. You guys are right. I'm reading a lot of good things about RIA. Taurus or RIA? Which models? I'm looking at RIA tactical. Who usually stocks these around here? I'll probably end up getting a Colt, Sig and all the other fancy 1911 at some point in my life. Right now I just want to get started in the platform and see if I like it. Also want to mess around with swapping in some parts to make it my own. Would rather do that with a cheaper gun. Like I said, while it won't be my primary HD gun, I'd like it to be reliable. Any further recommendations / insight would be very helpful..
  21. Looking for my first 1911. My budget is $600-900 or so. It would mainly be a range gun but I'm looking for something very reliable. I've been looking at: Springfield Armory Range Officer Para Elite Target Ruger SR1911 Remington R1 Enhanced Sig Scorpion Which one of these would you buy? Are there others I should consider? I'm going to check out some if these guns this week when I'm off.
  22. We're all here to, among other things, support and exercise our 2A rights. We are supposed to be on the same team ladies and gents. Act like it. We can disagree with each other. We can have discussion on topics. But let's keep it civil. This a public forum. Infighting between us doesn't look good.
  23. Thanks guys. The end goal would be going out of state to va or nc. If we end up staying in NJ and can't find a house in this area, we'll take your suggestions into consideration. I do like freehold, but we're looking for a fenced in yard for dogs... In our price range
